  1. I don't much mind their bits, to get them through a long season, but that nationwide jingle, oh man , I get upset when they catch me off guard, and i'm not able to mute it.
  2. I follow the Brewers since I live in Wisconsin, but I have never had that thrill watching them, as i've had when something great happens in a Sox game . as more and more of my memories begin to fade away, i'm holding on to baseball with both hands, for as long as I can . every September I lock on to a team that does something for me, and ride it to whatever end they have . sadly, it's worked for years, but damn, come on White Sox, there are people out here that are running out of time, and it sure would be nice to see one more climb to the top .
  3. For me personally, just the thought of LaRussa not being there in 23, lifts my spirits . after so much optimism and enthusiasm entering spring training, last season was pretty devastating, so i'm hesitant to to believe . that being said, all of this is very exciting.
  4. Listened to Rooney & Farmer for years . still miss them, every broadcast . Farmer & DJ could be pretty entertaining . one game they were both in a bad mood I guess, and were calling each other names and saying stuff like, Farmer.."if you don't like what i'm saying then just stop talking, . DJ.. "ok, I will" and there was silence for awhile . it was really funny . they were just blowing off steam, as that grind can get to you . it's happened to me I was fishing, and out for weeks at a time, and guys just snap at each other.
  5. Well, since i've been a fan of this guy for some time now, this is good news for me . wanted him last year.
  6. I don't remember much these days, but I sure remember that bat flip against the Royals . it got my blood going . also, i'm a big Tim Anderson fan, and sure hope that he stays.
  7. Since I live here in Wisconsin, and the Brewers are my 2nd team, this is good news for me I guess . why do I feel like ****.
  8. Just wondering how far-fetched is a scenario, where the outcome of games, for gambling purposes, could be controlled by which balls are used where.
  9. I can't even say how much her music means to me . I first heard it in 1977, when i was 21 and living on the western slope in Colorado, and i had just fallen in love with a beautiful girl . Fleetwood Mac came to Boulder as part of their Rumors tour, and we drove over the mountains to Folsom Field to see them . there was a no seating on the field, and even with a record crowd of 61,500, we got right up in front . it's one of my fondest memories ever, and that's how I will always remember Christine McVie.
  10. I just saw that Jose is gone . sad to see him go, but not surprised . José Abreu is an honorable, hard working man, who never complained, and played his heart out, even when he didn't feel well . I hope that he tears it up in Houston(except when playing the Sox).
  11. I have never actually hated a sports team before, with the possible exception of the 86 Packers, but I truly just cannot stand the Astros . I always wish the winning team well, but this year I just feel, **** them.
  12. Bryce Harper ~ worth the price of admission..
  13. At this point i'm just glad that LaRussa is gone, and that it's not Guillén . wonder how different things might have been, if Grifol had started the 2022 season.
  14. Realmuto with one of those home runs, that Phillies fans will never forget.
  15. Bryce Harper is god..
  16. You would think that after this debacle of a season, that the very least that they could do, would be to form up on stage and answer questions from the fans . it would be pure hell for them, but somewhat cathartic for the fans . they messed up . we know it . they know it . for the good of the city, the organization, and all Chicago White Sox fans, at least have the courtesy to show up.
  17. I was bummed when the Astros won, and turned it off . now, I have to watch the other games from last night . I cannot believe the Padres beat the Dodgers!!! . everyone I know, said the Dodgers were unbeatable, heh . and crazy that the Guardians got 3 in the 9th . would enjoy a Philly-Cleveland World Series . I guess it's like they say, just get in and anything can happen . wonder if we ever get back in, in my lifetime.
  18. Julio Rodríguez ,man, that guy can cover some ground . saved the game so far.
  19. Two famous Chicago business men.. Al Capone, American gangster and businessman, who attained notoriety during the Prohibition era, was famous for running a multi-million-dollar Chicago operation in gambling, bootlegging and prostitution in the 1920s. Jerry Reinsdorf, American lawyer and businessman, who started his professional life as a tax attorney with the Internal Revenue Service, is famous for running a multi-million-dollar Chicago operation in real estate, Chicago sports teams.
  20. In 1905, during one of the worst winters on record, the ship “Susanna” took 99 days rounding Cape Horn . Captain Christian Jürgens, sitting at anchor off of Iquique, Chilie, simply wrote in his log, So ends, So ends this blasted passage . now that this long and frustrating season is over, here's hoping that out next voyage will have clear sailing ahead,
  21. "So Ends ... So Ends This Blasted Passage"
  22. I just wish that i had found this place years ago.
  23. I trust the front office about as far as i can throw a piano, but if i'm still around, i'll be watching.
  24. I'm glad this horrid season is ending in a few hours, but it won't be long before i'm counting the days until pitchers & catchers . and so it goes..
