  1. This is emblematic of the top heavy/no depth system the Sox had at the time. They basically needed to hit on all of the higher ranked prospects, both on the pitching and hitting side, because there was nothing else. Currently, the hitting side still seems like a bit of a mess, but I at least feel a little better about the development and depth on the pitching side. You obviously want high ceiling guys, but at least it's not the extreme quality over quantity approach from the last rebuild.
  2. The refusal to read the room is kind of insulting tbh.
  3. It’s nice that he’s had some pretty easy matchups to start his career. Probably helps the confidence a bit.
  4. Absolutely not, and I'm not saying Getz has done a good job. I just think the suggestions that he's been trying to field a competitive team this whole time and this is the outcome are absurd. I believe the moves made have been a mix of plan AND panic and I don't get why it has to be entirely one or the other.
  5. They're literally holding tryouts in-season for guys to see if they can accrue enough value to be flipped at the deadline. How is that not trying to be bad?
  6. Can someone remind me what the roster crunch was that forced Pillar out? There's been so many moves that it's hard to keep track.
  7. This data is misleading because it conveniently omits the "Number of David Ecksteins on team" category.
  8. 100 under .500 is gonna be wild.
  9. Kind of defeats the whole purpose at that point
  10. The “who is the biggest bust of the rebuild?” question is so fascinating. Every time I think I know my answer, Kopech/Yoan/Eloy does something to change my mind.
  11. What the f*** is this guy talking about
  12. That is…not a great looking lineup. Crochet vs Yordan and Tucker would have been good television.
  13. Pretty interesting piece if you really want to nerd out on Cannon’s arsenal. (Can be a little buggy on mobile so Reader View is recommended if you can)
  14. Snopek replied to Rocky's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I was assuming this referred to the culture at Guaranteed Rate the company and not Guaranteed Rate Field, hence the line about a stadium name change.
  15. What a s%*# reply.
  16. I get a sense MLB messed with the balls again this year. League wide ERA is down from 4.33 last year to 3.97 this year and homers are the lowest since 2015.
  17. I love Korey Lee.
  18. Surely other females exist outside of Fran Drescher. But anyway, if unpleasant voice and talking too much are actual requirements for the job, then there are many males currently with jobs that are also unqualified.
  19. I really like the Sox, Padres, Nationals and Rays. There are a few other ok ones, but most of the rest just feel really half-assed or safe, which kind of defeats the whole purpose for me.
  20. So Korey Lee is just good huh. That’s pretty cool.
  21. If they are qualified for the job, why would their gender matter?
