  1. New season same old story. The same players getting 'little' injuries that then turn into bigger injuries. It will only be a matter of time before Grandal or Robert pick up an injury. There is no point having 'talent' if it struggles to get on the field, and constantly missing games with minor injuries then affects form and the replacements we have are not up to it due to the poor squad building of Hahn and co.
  2. You forgot to mention Moncada and his 'bad back' which will no doubt will not be something minor and result in him missing half the season!
  3. Only 3 games in and some positive signs and some negative signs. But they have been at least competitive against the WS Champs from last season. My biggest worry is that the bullpen has not looked good at all in the last 2 days and if that continues it will be a long season! A 1-2 start could have been 2-1 but equally could have been 0-3 if the opening day comeback hadn't happened. But it is important to try not to start 1-3 as they would already be chasing and confidence at the beginning of this season will be important.
  4. If this was last season Leury Garcia would have been starting not on the bench to PH!
  5. I was responding to a comment that said if he played outfield he would be less likely to get hamstring injuries if he was 'stretched out' by playing outfield. But one factor, but I agree not the only one, in hamstring injuries is failure to stretch out or warm up before explosive exercise like running the bases, that is why athletes warm up before sprint races in athletics!
  6. Eloy hasn't managed 100 games since his rookie year, and I would argue that him trundling around the outfield is more likely to result in him being injured than DHing, if a professional 'athlete' can't stretch out properly before an at bat, that talks more about their lack of professionalism than anything else. I think we all want Eloy to play 100+ games and reproduce the form we saw at the end of last season, I just think playing him most games at DH and the occasional OF will give a better chance of that.
  7. Probably just focusing on a return helps Liam cope better with the whole treatment for cancer. Whenever he comes back or even is he doesn't, I just hope he is healthy in himself.
  8. What about the rest of him?
  9. I know 162 was not realistic, for any player, but Eloy has only managed more than100 games once in 4 seasons. Keeping him out of the outfield would reduce the risk of injury although as we discovered last season base running is just as hazardous.
  10. Oh no I agree 125-130 would be great by the standards of recent seasons. And it is worth noting Eloy has never managed that many games in a season, in fact he has only played more than 100 in one season and that was 4 years ago!
  11. New season and already Moncada and Eloy have managed to get injuries, I know they are both supposed to be minor injuries but it doesn't exactly fill you with confidence that they can play a full 162 game season without being on the injured list. No doubt Moncada's 'rib contusion' will be blamed when he has an underwhelming start to the season with the bat. And if Eloy is getting calf cramps after 2 innings why oh why have him running about the outfield, rather than keeping him DHing?
  12. If he gets too many games in OF the chances of him injuring himself increase and then he won't make 150 games again.
  13. One of those is possible and one of them virtually impossible!
  14. For me the biggest highlight from yesterday was the fact that some of the WS players actually looked fit and slimmed down for this season, that must help with injuries. The lowlight (if that word exists) was seeing Yas try and run the bases!
  15. Whilst it is good to hear that he is being more professional this off-season it just highlights how even after 7 years (and lots of wages) at the White Sox he is only just being more professional. Also most of what he says he is doing aren't 'more professional' they are just simply acting like a professional. Equally it highlights how poor the Sox trainers have been that after 7 years he is only just beginning to act like a professional.
  16. Could MLB introduce a runner on 2nd every innings to help the Whites Sox?
  17. A few players on this team could be called 'The Big Hurt' but only for the amount of time they spend injured.
  18. It could be worse! or Mediocrity is the new winning!
  19. That will only work if those same underachievers can stay fit a bit more often.
  20. They are only circumstantial because unless they show him doing the injuries then they do not prove he did them. Amber Heard had photos but that didn't help her in the appeal.
  21. Whilst those things can be used as evidence, they are often not enough to get a conviction, unless there is more evidence, hence the low conviction rate that allows abusers to go free. And I know the MLB can punish without a legal conviction but what I was attempting to say is that their evidential bar will be higher than public opinion or social media. I am by no means defending Clevinger and believe the accusations but getting a conviction is hard.
  22. All of the things you list are a collection of circumstantial evidence that any half competent defence lawyer would undermine, hence the fact that unless I have missed something he has yet to face any criminal charges where something has to be proven beyond reasonable doubt. The MLB will also have to apply a legal approach. There is no doubt that he is a nasty piece of work and no doubt the allegations contain a huge amount of accuracy, but whether the evidence is enough to 'convict' him in a real court or MLB hearing is a doubt, in the court of social media and public opinion he is guilty as charged but unless the White Sox FO have more moral compass than I think they will not sack him unless the MLB find him guilty.
  23. Since this team is a dumpster fire… they will probably be in first place until September before somehow throwing it away.
