  1. But surely the manager is supposed to get the best out of players and that doesn't appear to be the case at the moment with most WS players. If managers were as irrelevant to a team's success as you imply then why even bother with employing an expensive manager who is supposedly vastly experienced, they might as well have stuck with Ricky Renteria because he was no worse than TLR. And with TLR's influence with JR I find it hard to believe that all the 'bad signings' like Harrison and Garcia were totally down to Hahn. And what is wrong with fans venting at a team that is stumbling along under .500 that is supposedly in its 'window' for 'sustained success'? Being supportive and ra rar ra is one thing when a team is going through a blip or one bad game but a season long blip and even the most enthusiastic fan begins to lose faith.
  2. Can we panic now?
  3. All the more reason to get rid of TLR and give any new manager a good half a season or more to sort things out, because another month of this and it will be time to panic.
  4. Paying fans have every right to boo and chant if they want to, it might not be common in baseball but over here in the UK it is quite common in 'soccer'. And the boos are not just a response to this one game, they are the result of massive frustration at an underperforming team, and TLR is the manager. Yes a walk off would have got cheers but it would merely have papered over the cracks. And your defence of TLR is a bit much because he is the one making things worse by his errors and line ups. Harrison may be rubbish but it is TLR playing him and Garcia virtually every day, and even having Garcia as lead off hitter! He is the one mishandling the BP and intentionally walking a guy on a 1-2 count that has everyone in baseball confused.
  5. Another hamstring injury for a Sox player, it makes you wonder what strength and conditioning work ever happens, he wasn't even sprinting hard at the time. And he was just beginning to hit again!
  6. In the UK supporters of 'soccer' teams doing badly have hired planes towing banners saying fire the manager, maybe one of those flying over Guaranteed Rate Field would help nudge the ownership.
  7. Not soon enough to save this game
  8. Yep slam a Rookie player who is actually performing offensively for a bad day in the field.
  9. Moncada looks absolutely lost at the plate at the moment, he is just a walking out and doesn't even look like he believes a hit is coming.
  10. Yes if you keep playing on it then the fracture or break can take a long time to feel normal again and pain free.
  11. Well he probably is an angry drunk ?
  12. Yes, I wasn't sure if it was slang for drunk in the USA as well! ?
  13. You could have ended that sentence at pissed.
  14. No he was driving himself there and somehow got lost.
  15. Reading this thread has cheered me up after yesterday's defeat, thank you!
  16. Exactly right. In his post game comments TLR seemed to think he was a demon hitter on 1 or 2 strikes to lefties and that was his justification and seemed confused that anyone thought his action strange, just the mad ramblings of a senile drunk.
  17. If only it was that simple!
  18. But don't forget TLR knows more about baseball than us!
  19. Well that intentional walk worked out well!
  20. Mind you it is not just Garcia if you look at straight WAR then it is Garcia 288th with -0.9, Sheets at 289th with -1.0 and Grandal at 290th with -1.4.
  21. His lower body never seems to hinder his dance moves!
  22. A nice win with virtually every section of the team actually doing what they are meant to at a good standard, keep this going and things may look rosier in a couple of weeks!
  23. Is the window still open? The bigger issue is do you trade Giolito now in the hope of a good return in the hope of extending the window? Much of that will depend on whether or not you think this season is a bust or are there any signs of a recovery? But that would mean replacing Giolito from the FA market as the White Sox have nothing remaining in the system and do the WS have that much financial free room with the current wage bill.
  24. You know that the Sox don't believe in walks.
