  1. Reading this thread has cheered me up after yesterday's defeat, thank you!
  2. Exactly right. In his post game comments TLR seemed to think he was a demon hitter on 1 or 2 strikes to lefties and that was his justification and seemed confused that anyone thought his action strange, just the mad ramblings of a senile drunk.
  3. If only it was that simple!
  4. But don't forget TLR knows more about baseball than us!
  5. Well that intentional walk worked out well!
  6. Mind you it is not just Garcia if you look at straight WAR then it is Garcia 288th with -0.9, Sheets at 289th with -1.0 and Grandal at 290th with -1.4.
  7. His lower body never seems to hinder his dance moves!
  8. A nice win with virtually every section of the team actually doing what they are meant to at a good standard, keep this going and things may look rosier in a couple of weeks!
  9. Is the window still open? The bigger issue is do you trade Giolito now in the hope of a good return in the hope of extending the window? Much of that will depend on whether or not you think this season is a bust or are there any signs of a recovery? But that would mean replacing Giolito from the FA market as the White Sox have nothing remaining in the system and do the WS have that much financial free room with the current wage bill.
  10. You know that the Sox don't believe in walks.
  11. He will probably pitch a no hitter ?
  12. If this is a journey I think the satnav is broken.
  13. You forgot the big IF of keeping players fit and on the pitch.
  14. That is a mighty big IF.
  15. Must be the great work of the hitting coach ?
  16. With a leadoff man with an OBP of .203 and a third place hitter with an OBP of .176 there wasn't really any other outcome!
  17. With lines like this you could write for the official MLB Sox page, they always like a positive spin on every game even a defeat.
  18. I'm sure it is his job and the coaching staff's job to help them 'produce' and to try to motivate them. The players look bored, uninterested and aren't even going through the motions it is that bad. At least a new manager might put a rocket up a few of them and actually pick a consistent line up (barring injuries) so that players might actually believe in the manager and know day to day where they might be fielding or where in the order they are batting. Then we will know if it is just the players.
  19. Bases loaded with Grandal coming up to bat! Heres hoping
  20. Not arguing but just asking what makes you think the MLB would block it?
  21. Unfortunately we have TLR as manager so Eloy will be straight back into LF and shortly after straight back on the IL.
  22. Surprised he hasn't had a groin injury!
  23. Not arguing with the overall need for a 2B who can actually hit the ball but so far this season Madrigal is hitting .203 for the Cubs which whilst better than either of our 2B options is not a vast improvement and his fielding is only .964 which is worse.
  24. I think the expectation in 2022 after the 'rebuild' is what makes it miserable compared to 2016.
