  1. But the way he's playing at the moment can only be harming any trade value, he's hitting poorly, and looks half fit. Surely any GM interested in him would want to see him hitting again and mobile.
  2. And this stat is from when a tanking team would get the first draft pick the following year, that doesn't apply to the White Sox.
  3. There is a big difference between not being competitive and a 21-60 half season.
  4. According to research, done back on Feb. 19, the trio of Eloy Jimenez, Luis Robert Jr. and Yoan Moncada had played together in 158 of 546 games since the debut of Robert in 2020 entering 2024 season. Since when all 3 have spent more time injured. And many of those 158 games one or more of them were returning from injury so not anywhere near their best. Considering they were supposed to be the 'core' of the last rebuild the fact that they have played less than a full season together out of the last 3 is a damning indictment of the Sox medical department and their individual conditioning. It is especially damning that many of the injuries lately have come running the bases, which is rather a fundamental ability.
  5. A typical fan response to Thorpe, after his debut he was going to be brilliant, after a rough second start he will be a failure! He is a young pitcher who has gone from AA to MLB level, so he is bound to have some rough starts, so long as he learns and develops that is what this season is about for him.
  6. I find it rather humourous that only 2 days ago on the official site there was a fluff article about Duke Ellis and his father about him making the MLB team unlike his father and 2 days later they DFA him!
  7. Equally Vaughn is hitting .328 with 5hrs over the last 15 games, so hopefully he is also finding some sort of form after a bad start to the season.
  8. A good game for Lenyn Sosa, he is hitting .348 over his last 15 games, is this him finally figuring out hitting at MLB level or just a hot spell?
  9. To be honest even when they are fit and playing Yoan and Eloy haven't exactly been all-stars. One good season each is about all they can muster. And the ability to keep fit and healthy and therefore play regularly is part and parcel of being a professional, and that requires a prefessional attitude, something Eloy and Yoan lack. For most of the players at MLB level they clearly have/had the ability much of what makes the difference between a good carrer and missing out is attitude and professionalism.
  10. I think you mean 81 games by 2025.
  11. I admire your optimism but it may take a lot longer than a couple of years before we see the Whites Sox 'competitive' again even if Getz manages to pull of some decent trades.
  12. I thought so but couldn't resist!
  13. Are you Chris Getz in disguise?
  14. If Grifol is this uninspiring and crap talking with the media it is no wonder he can't inspire the team to be anything more than an embarrassment.
  15. But he more years of a big contract with no expectations of actually performing well, so he won't retire.
  16. Unfortunately he is a floater that just won't flush.
  17. Except its not as fun to watch.
  18. You mean there is a plan?
  19. To put that in figures, Jimenez, Robert and Moncada have played together in 161 of 558 games since Robert's debut in 2020. And they were supposed to be the core of the championship winning team. It's not just the missed games but also the fact that they are constantly having to regain form coming off injuries.
  20. I think those are the key words. How many of this bunch, injured players apart, are truly 'talented players'?
  21. That series sweep against the Rays seems like a dream, and normal service has now resumed. But at least they are putting up more than 2 runs and avoiding being shutout, so there is some tiny improvement. But with the current pen any game isn't safe.
  22. If 'steady' is how you describe a manager with Grifol's record since taking over at the White Sox I hate to imagine what Getz thinks is a bad manager.
  23. Or hire Pedro as manager at major league level.... (Even the Royals wouldn't do that and he was at their organisation)
  24. This season of futility and negative records would be bad enough if you thought that there was any chance of a phoenix rising from the flames and a competotive team would emerge for 2026 or 2027, but the reality is that once you put out the flames there will just be a paper bag of sh*t on your step.
