  1. Damn. They are marching.
  2. Fourth and seven ... bummer.
  3. You are right. A lot of time, but we have uncle Mo (Momentum) on our side at this juncture. Best vibes to the defense.
  4. My goodness. The Bears are winning tra la tra la. Cmon kickoff team and defense!
  5. Love me some Loveland.
  6. Can't ask for more than getting the ball with 2:51 left and only needing a FG for OT. Cmon Bears. We believe in you. I want me some OT.
  7. Cmon D. A 3 and out would be dandy.
  8. Bears fans going wild.
  9. Holy bleep. Not over yet. Nice job Williams.
  10. Inches. Bears woulda been in great shape if they had recovered the ball around the 50 down by one score. Bad luck.
  11. I'm a bandwagon Bears fan, just the playoffs. From my new Bears eyes I didn't like the play of our QB at all and also our defense getting shredded on short passes. Is Caleb good? And is the Bears' pass defense lousy? I'll hang up and gratefully listen.
  12. The Royals definitely want out of Kauffman. I'm sure the city will accommodate them after the embarrassment of losing the Chiefs.
  13. The Indiana talk is absurd. The Bears aren't leaving Illinois. They probably won't even leave Chicago for AH. From an outsider it's obvious Arlington Hts would be nirvana for the Bears. Sweetheart deal to move there and it's obvious they are would be turned into an amazing place full of hotels, restaurants and the like. Surprising they won't move to Arlington. But Indiana? Please. Ain't gonna happen.
  14. Kansas has its Chiefs; they don't need or want the Royals now. Missouri knows it can't lose both franchises so certainly the state will provide some big bucks via taxes to allow KCR to move downtown.
  15. I discounted the Sox signing any free agents. That won't happen. I meant trades. Name a year the start of Feb approaches and trades are made. Sox don't sign free agents unless they can find some 1 year 6 mill deals for run of the mill pitchers.
  16. I would think most teams rosters are set by now. Or will be by Jan. 20. So are we good enough to go .500 yet? Sox won't be making any moves after Jan. 20. They never do. We're nearing the end of another mostly silent offseason. Once Feb hits it's play ball.
  17. What ever happened to Eloy? Is his career hopelessly over? Remember Viciedo? What a bust. And Vaughn, who did a little better in Milwaukee?
  18. I think they will trade him in the next two weeks. But I think trading him is bad from a competition standpoint. The Sox have a few players you would now pay to see play that are in the everyday lineup. Taking Robert away weakens the team, period. If the Sox could get creative and get something out of that pitching staff, they'd win the damn division. But trading Robert just makes the Sox lousy on paper again.
  19. North Central College of Naperville is leading River Falls at halftime of the natty game in a lower division. If NC can win, I hope they hold a parade in Naperville. Not easy to win a natty.
  20. Royals will be staying in Missouri, probably downtown KC. If Kansas is acting bossy, that will seal the deal for Missouri to keep 'em. The Chiefs got a sweetheart deal. Will Kansas offer the Royals a similar offer now that they've got the NFL?
  21. Looks like the Sox are trying again. I may buy mlb.com baby.
  22. Oops. I missed this thread, so I'll say "Merry Christmas Bedford Falls." "And Happy New Year to You ... in Jail!" Kudos to all Chicagoans on the South Side who put up Christmas decorations. Nobody in American respects Christmas cheer as well as Chicagoans and their beautiful outside lights. Let's hope the New Year is special and love is the only four-letter word we need to utter all of 2026. GO SOX. GO BEARS. GO CHICAGO HOT DOGS AND ITALIAN BEEF AND BAR PIZZA! Happy NY baby!

Soxtalk is an exceptional site, free for we posers, I mean posters, but we never have a Merry Christmas thread. So I hope you all had a Merry Christmas. In honor of the holiday tell me 3 things you like/love about Chicago (not suburbia). It can be something from the past involving the Windy City too ... a.) Old Comiskey Park. It was a thrill to be in there every time I went except maybe when they had the astroturf infield and grass outfield. Weird. b.) Italian beef with soggy bun. It really is delicious. However as I age, it ruffles my stomach as do delightful White Castle burgers. c.) Christmas decorations on the southside. People come through every year and decorate their houses. True Chicagoans are special people. Hail to Mt. Greenwood. I miss you and wish u a Merry Christmas and thank u to soxtalk owners for this forum. Peace out. p.s. Did you watch Wonderful Life this year again? I did but picked it up halfway thru.
  24. I wonder if Hahn (oops Getz) knows he'll get major brownie points with Jerry if he gets rid of Robert's salary after signing the sensation from Japan.
