  1. Mariners traded Locklear so I'm assuming they're going to try to keep Naylor around, and I'm going to hate that extra series every time. It was so nice thinking he was going to be in the NL for a while.
  2. Huh. I guess a HR trot is one way for Tauch to avoid stressing the hammy. If only they'd gotten something out of that bases loaded one out situation earlier.
  3. Seattle has put together such a playoff ready rotation
  4. Cannon went through this at about the same time last year too. 3.48 ERA in 5 July starts, then an awful 6+ ERA/1.8 WHIP August, then an okay close to the season.
  5. Really wish we played these guys before the deadline.
  6. Hopefully they can take some momentum from that into tomorrow. Lineup is really missing Vargas/Meidroth who had both been heating up before their injuries. Need some more activity on the bases between the HRs. Mead should start tomorrow. Woo is a very tough RHP so I get if they wanted to protect him a bit, but if he's up you have to give him a look while Vargas is out. If Mead sticks, Rojas can be cut whenever Miguel is good to go.
  7. Two runs on 1 hit with the error and HR, 3 runs on 1 single in that inning. Hard to win giving up crooked numbers without making the other team earn them by stringing hits together at least.
  8. Pitching matchups were always going to be tough this series, but they aren't making Woo work enough.
  9. Barons are 20-2 in their last 22 games. Schweitzer 4IP scoreless in bulk relief. He has a 0 ERA in 24.2 IP in Birmingham, but really struggled in Charlotte.
  10. Davitt has a nice curveball and is a quick worker. Retired his first 14 in order and was through 6 scoreless on an efficient pitch count before a single > walk > sac bunt got him pulled.
  11. Zavala's been heating up lately. .270/.415/.365 in July, 3 doubles and this HR in his last 5 games
  12. A ball debuts for 2025 picks DePino (1B, batting 3rd), Shelton (2B, batting 5th), and Brown (CF, batting 9th)
  13. 3B Anthony DePino (7th round), OF Ely Brown (12th round), SS Colby Shelton (6th round) to Kannapolis SS Kyle Lodise (3rd round) to WS
  14. Not the first communication issue Liam has voiced with Boston. Early in the season he said he didn't like not knowing his role/usage. Then he got injured shortly after being asked to cover a two inning outing, which he said he had been told in ST wouldn't be asked of him. The injury was initially diagnosed as a hernia, but after a setback in rehab is now being called an abdominal strain. He always did have a way with words:
  15. Houser's Rays debut: 5.2IP, 5ER (season high), 11H (ties career high), 1 BB, 3K. I assume some of it is rust from skipping a turn, but apparently TB fans are having Manzardo for Civale flashbacks already...same division and everything. Also ironic given Civale's recent performance here.
  16. I hope "shoulder discomfort" isn't something more serious, but it's not like the warning signs weren't there...
  17. Houser hadn't given up a HR to a RH hitter this season, but just gave one up to Jo Adell six batters into his Rays debut.
