Yet the MLB took no action and Clevinger didn’t lose his job. Perhaps there may have been more evidence of the accusations against Shirley. The White Sox apparently didn’t treat Shirley with zero tolerance considering there was a previous allegation against him in 2022.

Your post is basically a bunch of excuse-making for Getz and his deadline moves. 1.) You don’t know what other starting pitchers would have cost but are throwing out names like Bonemer. There were also cheaper rentals available that were moved. If Getz only targeted non-rentals, that’s on him. Afterall, does anyone even want to see Castillo or Doyle next season? Everyone is wishing they were rentals right about now. 2.) GM’s add additional players at the deadline to account for their deficiencies, including factoring in slumps by players. Afterall, isn’t that one of the reasons Getz acquired Doyle? Because Peters was in a horrible slump? In any case, Getz’s deadline moves have been an unmitigated disaster and I have no idea how you can keep trying to excuse it. Post-deadline winning percentage was the first excuse. Then it was that the Sox are still in first place once their winning percentage fell to under .500 post-deadline. What’s the next excuse of these deadline trades? That they just won a game against the Cardinals? Yes, "f@#$%^ up big time" is accurate.

He’s still figuring things out. It was all part of Getz’s plan. He was an intended project plan at the deadline. You can’t review the trade as a failure until we see what he eventually becomes.

I’ll take a minor slump over overpaid Castillo and Doyle for the next season plus.

Okay. But both acquisitions have added a single win to the team post-trade deadline. The point of the trade deadline is to make moves that actually improve your team, which Getz failed at. At what point will you admit this?

Yeah, her analysis was so spot on, calling PCA an overrated bust that wasn’t worth his contract extension. Questioning that his contract extension would be worth it. Oops. Good prediction there on the NL MVP. 🤣 She literally had a grudge against a prospect that she watched in the minors, and admitted to such. That’s why I laugh and have pretty much ignored her posts going forward.

Thanks for spelling it out, Caulfield. A 26 year old starting center fielder for cash considerations is insane. Peters’ age and arbitration years are probably what makes him Getz’s best acquisition of all time, if not his second best trade considering what he gave up versus Vargas… a.k.a. nothing.

It is definitely fire-worthy, but does it cancel out all of his previous good moves? I’m not so sure. That said, Getzy had one of the worst trade deadlines in history. His team literally would have been better both now and in the future if he had taken a long nap. Mason Adams, Hays/Pereira, and Boston Smith, instead of Castillo and Doyle sucking penis… Getz blew it hard.

He is currently apologizing to himself in his bathroom while figuratively eating his own s%*# for his trade deadline moves.

There needs to be a sliding scale. Getz’s moves for guys like Vargas, Kay, Fedde, Newcomb, etc. should be praised, but he should also eat s%*# for the worst trades in trade deadline history. As injury-prone as Robert is and was, all you got for him was a backup utility buster? Still amazing.

Your optimism a couple weeks ago was founded. This shouldn’t have happened, but the worst trade deadline moves in history contributed to this.

In response to the thread title, I only cry because @WestEddy and @CaliSoxFanViaSWside have both apparently ghosted the site amidst this awful losing streak, as they usually do when times look bad. Even though they will no longer have to exert any effort trying to defend Getz’s awful trade deadline moves, since it is obvious at this point to any non-homer White Sox fan, I am still praying for both of them every night because they are still White Sox fans afterall. Hopefully, they will both make their triumphant return to this site once the Sox manage to win a game. I miss them both, as I am sure we all do…
