  1. Ideally it would be better to trade Robert after if he has a big first half, but the risk of injury isn't worth the wait. Trade him for what they can get and move on.
  2. Losing 121 games was embarrassing, but the gong for Shingo was a bit too much. You can't blame Schriffen for that one.
  3. I agree with you but JR is one of the few owners that has a sweetheart money-making deal on a publicly funded stadium.
  4. I think the Sox have addressed their weaknesses in drafting and development but now they have to show results going forward.
  5. Back in 2012 when the Sox traded Eduardo Escobar, I didn't even give it a thought because of Beckham was locked in at 2nd base. I still am amazed in the direction their careers went. I first saw Beckham at 2008 Sox ST in Tucson and was giving my brother-in-law daily updates. Beckham was going to be the answer at 2nd base, Gordo had the makings of a superstar and the hair to boot. A 1st round draft pick out of a powerhouse college conference, what could go wrong? The only upside is I totally enjoy Beckham on the pre and post and also when he broadcasts from time to time, great guy.
  6. Callis was talking about Montgomery coming over from Boston, he is very positive on him. When asked about Colsom Montgomery Callis brought up his struggles in 2024. I personally thought Sosa looked great at the end of the season and deserves a shot as a starter. Callis thinks Meidroth can make the team in the 2025 season..
  7. I am getting a picture of the starting pitching, but does anyone want to take a stab at who will be in the bullpen and also the closer?
  8. I believe Jim Callis said the Sox have the best catching prospects in MLB after picking up Teel in the Crochet deal. Callis was also very high on Montgomery's upside and thought Meidroth could be on the roster 2025.
  9. Sox offer of a 5 year no cost on additional dipping sauce at all Chicagoland participating Rasing Cane's Chicken Fingers is on the board.
  10. One of our posters mentioned trading Robert jr before he gets hurt again. In a perfect world I would roll the dice to see if he could stay healthy, put up good numbers and move him at the trading deadline. I have no confidence Robert jr can stay healthy so cut bait, trade him.
  11. I am feeling positive about the trade and all the changes Getz has made at scouting and coaching. I think it is going to pay off having coaches like Grady and Will mentor players. The respect level from the players will be off the chart and on the pitching side Bannister has the same impact. With JR at 88 years old, Sox pitching studs presently in the organization have a better chance of being extended by the new owner.
  12. All I can say is anyone that is an Admin on a White Sox board after 121 losses, thank you for your service.
  13. I am hoping Montgomery fills the RF void. I love the Sox getting more left-handed hitting. Also acquiring Teel will give Quero more time to season in the minors. Could Korey Lee be moved to 1st when Quero is ready to come up ? Don't know much about Gonzalez but the 3 bats all have great OBP. I'd be a happy camper if the Sox would have extended Crochet, but we all know JR isn't going to pay.
  14. Burger's 30 homers and personality would be a welcome addition to the south side.
  15. With the new retractable dome how does the ball carry? I remember the old park was like playing in Arizona ST where balls shoot through the infield on a really hard surface.
  16. JR should sign Taylor Swift, just think of the revenues she would bring in.
  17. We need a diehard Sox fan who happens to be Hedge Fund Manager to buy out JR. Are there any headhunters in the forum? get er done.
  18. At 21 years old Dick had to play minor league ball in the Jim Crow South during the Civil Rights Movement. Then he was totally mistreated by the press in Philadelphia which led to some of the fans turning on him. I know this is not what you are asking but I wanted to point out the real politics that had the biggest impact on Allen's life. The baseball politics and maneuvering of getting into the HoF is a talking point in itself.
  19. Great news!!!! Dick Allen was a stud.
  20. I did have a transistor radio in bed when the Sox played in the Angels in Anaheim
  21. The earliest I can remember ever seeing the White Sox or baseball on TV was 1966 at my grandparents' house on a Sunday with all my relatives in the house. The image of the black and white tv is still burned in my memory along with my uncle saying " Stankey's Stinkies".
  22. He should get on Dr. Phil and tell us all about it.
