  1. QUOTE (MnSoxFan @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 09:14 PM) Rondon also has made only 2 errors in 12 games at SS since going to W-S. by any chance any update on his range there? thanks for any updates.
  2. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 05:41 PM) Max Wildstein ⚾️ ‏@MaxWildstein 7m #Reds Chien-Ming Wang will opt out of his #MiLB deal and will sign with the #ChiSox, sources tell @GSIntegration. #MLB lol for the life of me, I can't figure out if this is a good or bad move. I can see the upside. I guess as our system is anything or anybody can help.
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 09:01 PM) I'm pretty sure he means if he was not subject to the draft slot protocols (like Cuban free agents) and was openly bid on how much would he get, and the answer would be...a ton more. then why was he directing the comment to me and my post..... and still, if he was a free agent, Cuban, DR, Asian then say it.... FREE AGENTS. I was talking about the draft. sorry, my Indian (temper) is up.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 08:18 PM) That puts them under the cap, which will be used for Gasol/mirotic. thanks for the update....
  5. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 04:26 PM) Oh no, almost 7 million! Isn't that close to the price of Keppinger & Downs for only 1 season? Who cares, Rodon is a cheap lottery ticket with pretty good odds. Signed him cheap. If Rodon was a Cuban what do you think the bidding would reach? first the stupidity of this post is too much, no one, I mean no one is introducing race into the conversation except you...... I am a minority and never once did I mention race. you are then mixing apples with oranges Rodon is a college drafted player and there fore limited with slot allotted money and is in no way a free agent where is the sox org wanted to can walk away. where does the idea of " If Rodon was a Cuban what do you think the bidding would reach?" came from. RE TEX.... also with your comment, again apples and oranges...... jesssss can anyone stick to the what is said without taking liberties.
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 03:49 PM) Also...I don't think the bulls have anymore money after Gasol/mirotic. So would need to be a trade. Still hoping for Burks but there is absolutely no smoke there. But Kirk! Kirk will be here don't worry. even after the bulls do the amnesty on boozer?
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 01:51 PM) Absurd there are 2 players I would like the bulls go for, I know it may depend on salary cap and players the bulls have on the team. however, Lance Stephenson is a player I am intrigue with, move bulter to SF and keep Lance as SG. there is a reason for getting him. with the rumors of how he is, I think the bulls org esp with the coach we have may help him there.
  8. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 01:29 PM) Why would you think that though? Boras is a good agent. Holding out Rodon would not have been advantageous for the client. With the new draft rules, it was always a foregone conclusion that Rodon would be signing. it is clearly subjective, we may never agree nor will one will convince the other. I can accept that, most may not, however saying that, my prob with Scott B, is how he does it. the subject of doing it for the client sometimes doesn't wash for me. lets assume and I am saying this for an example for this discussion Rodon. Would Rodon have held out for the sum of let say $300,000-500,000 usd, even knowing that the sox went slot and over to sign him? he and his camp may not like the slot allotted money, but those are the new guidelines. It was done to help all, I know it is not the total final amount. using the it as leverage to force more money is what I have the problem in this situation. I am not going to use a lot of maybe examples to go in the realm of "What if" stories or examples. the sox played by the rules and went overslot money, the offer is over slot, trying to max the salary and not caring about the ability for the sox to sign anyone else is my prob. I also blame the sox org, they knew what it was like to deal with BorAss, and they still went to the well and did it again. this time Rodon did sign and everyone came out happy...... meaning sox and Rodon camp. for me, this is closed and I am going to look forward to sox new future with Rodon pitching his best for the org. I am done. Peace.
  9. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 11:40 AM) Gordon Beckham is not a good offensive player. In fact, other than one or maybe two months every year- he is bad. Time to move on, cut your losses, swallow your pride and head in a newer direction. When you have Sanchez and Johnson waiting in the wings, this decision becomes less difficult. Beckham has had 5 seasons to prove himself. Most players only get 2 to 3 if they begin slowly. The Power of that 1st round pick I guess? more like the idea of fulfilling the potential image.
  10. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 12:52 PM) Same here as a Sox fan, but I'd need significant money, almost 500,000 to be honest to be satisfied while I would have been extremely happy to get Bryce signed, lets be honest, there are prospects that went back to school to strengthen their position and then reenter the draft. Bryce is but another who will do it, who knows what will happen in the future.
  11. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 08:24 PM) Last I read he would be working with coaches at Winston this week and after that possibly working out of the pen to manage this years work load. Read that on the Sox site earlier today. thanks I missed that.
  12. Being an apache indian, I can really say this, ALL you people who are not NA Indians are all illegal.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 07:49 PM) Prediction. Rodon's first start at Winston-Salem gets a longer game thread than this weekend's Indians/Sox games. wow, I must have missed something, is Rodon starting anytime soon?
  14. trading either DV or Beckham in a single trade may not happen this yr. I think that the only way to trade them is to add to the package by including Danks. no matter what the stats show or taking into acct his recovery from surgery or his salary, Dank will most definitely help any team. I see him getting to be like his old self.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 03:14 PM) They are huge. To go over the limit one year you basically lose the ability to sign any pricey international FA's the next year. thanks for the link and info. however is there a legit source for his right age? I wonder what would the cost be to sign him. I think the braves just signed another catcher from cuba.
  16. ok, I now have some time avail where I can write this out the right way. I am here for 2 reason, first to eat some crow and say that I never thought that Rodon would sign or should I say allow Scott, his agent, to convince him to sign. the money is that factor and I really thought scott will hold Rodon out for spite and make a issue on the slot money. who knows he may do that with the other 1 rounders. posters calling him greedy or not, is the right way to describe this. it is over and done with, lets start that chapter of Rodon as a sox player.
  17. I wasn't sure where to put this, maybe the mods can keep this for all Cuban players activities and change the title. mlb rumors http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/ has mention that a Cuban catcher is trying out for mlb teams. according to this site, there is an age difference unless I am reading it wrong. http://www.theootpelite.com/toe/reports/pl...ayer_44486.html question, going over slot as the yanks did, what are the penalties for doing that.
  18. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 06:43 PM) If a club exceeds its SBP in a given Rule 4 Draft, a tax will be assessed and future Rule 4 Draft picks could be forfeited, depending on how much the club exceeded its SBP. (The club’s 1st Round draft pick in the next Rule 4 Draft is forfeited if the club exceeds its SBP by 5-10%, its 1st & 2nd round draft picks in the next Rule 4 Draft are forfeited if the club exceeds its SBP by 10-15%, and the club’s 1st Round picks in the next two Rule 4 Drafts are forfeited if the club exceeds its SBP by more than 15%). So basically they can go over by 4.999999% and not get punished, but anything after that and not happening. No club is going to forfeit a 1st round pick, unless there is a compelling reason. thank I appreciate the info. now to look at it this way, the sox lost in the neg battle with Rodon and his camp. however if you want to look at it with rose colored glasses, we won b/c we sign Rodon.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 04:13 PM) I dont think its up to 6.8 but I thin its overslot. But really, he's signing so who cares at this point. at which point will the sox get penalized for overspending

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 03:28 AM) I think most White Sox fans were leery about Marcus Semien simply because he was never really on the "top prospect" radar until last year 100% and we generally never trust the front office to develop a position player anyway (for good reason)... It's the back-up QB syndrome here...most of the Marcus love was actually Beckham frustration/apathy in disguise. I wonder how much batting second in the lineup affected his mind set let alone his appch. it take a good player to really have the mentality to bat second.
  22. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 12:11 PM) http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/23420...rade-For-Boozer Sources indicate that the Chicago Bulls hope to pursue a sign-and-trade with the Los Angeles Lakers involving Pau Gasol and the expiring contract of Carlos Boozer. The window to use the amnesty provision on Boozer officially started on Wednesday night. By trading Boozer in a deal for Gasol, the Bulls would keep their exceptions to target players such as possibly Nikola Mirotic, Trevor Ariza, Shawn Marion, Kirk Hinrich and Ramon Sessions. It is unlikely that a deal with Gasol would be longer than three years. Gasol is reportedly considering the Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs and Lakers in addition to the Bulls. Via K.C. Johnson/Chicago Tribune for me, I would like to keep the option of the amnesty for something in the future, just in case.
  23. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 03:03 PM) Chris Cotillo @ChrisCotillo · 10m Buzz this morning: #Mariners could be close to making a trade. Possibly Viciedo??? what happen the the buzz regarding Mariners???? any updates???
  24. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 11:33 PM) The Sox are rebuilding. There will be some crappy players out there during a rebuild. It's unavoidable. Bringing AJ and his .636 OPS back during a rebuild would be patronizing the fans. I think 1, it would be a good PR move. 2. he is better than flowers and will provide more to the club.

ok sox fans ...... Halliburton oil fields are in need of workers..... LA, TX and NM. problem is you need a perfectly clean police report. the company in LA had to go and import something like 300 Asians to man the positions b/c they can't find americans without a police rpt. NM and TX are looking to fill something like 1000 position each by the end of Sept.
