  1. I'm sorry if this is answered in the thread, but does this start this year or next?
  2. Yup, congrats to the Colts. As frustrated as I was with the Bears yesterday, the Colts out-played and out-coached the Bears.

    The Office

Finally got around to watching it, it was a very good episode. The dynamic with Pam/Karen/Jim took a good step yesterday. The look on Angela's face during Ben Franklin's speech was hysterical.
  4. at least this decision was made early, there's no way I could take another few months of reports of his every move. It's bad enough we will have another 3-4 months of this B.S. with Clemens. With that said, I am a huge Bears fans, but respect the hell out of Favre. If he wants to continue to play, more power to him.
  5. QUOTE(BMac Attack @ Jan 31, 2007 -> 04:37 PM) I think it also makes a difference if you're calling on a land-line phone (which is likely to wake other people in the house up) versus a cell phone. I really don't care when people call my cell phone, but if they wake everyone else in the house up, then that's grounds to be pissed. I'm with you on this one. Cell phone I could care less about, people could call all hour of the night. It's easy for me to shut off of quiet it. I hate the land line. My house has 2 cordless phones laying around that are loud as hell, it's a complete rukus when the land line rings. But, in my house, people stay up kind of late. So a 10:30 phone call, even for something not very exciting, would be OK. It kind of depends on the everyones schedule
  6. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Feb 2, 2007 -> 11:38 AM) Just ordered ROH's Death Before Dishonor IV and Chicago Spectacular Night 1 this morning. Man, I can't wait. The 2 shows they ran Wrestlemania weekend last year are MUST haves. They were awesome live. One of the rare 5 star matches on American soil, and I got to see it live!! Interesting that ROH is running a different building on the 24th of this month. Use to be Chicago Ridge, now it's somewhere in the city... http://rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=1037 Not sure if I'm going to make this one, PRIDE is having their 2nd event in America that night, and it'll be on PPV. Although it will be Samoa Joe's last ROH appearance in Chicago, and Brian Danielson cracks me up!
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Feb 1, 2007 -> 10:22 AM) The point of the matter is, whats in it for them in recieving Lowell. I guess it would depend how much of Helton's contract they would have kept. If The Red Sox were going to grab a substantial portion, they would have been free of Lowell's contract after this year. SI.com in their rumors section has a blurb about how with Helton staying, they may be limited for extensions on guys like Holiday and such...
  8. The commercials never inspired me to want to see this. It seems like a Quinton Tarantino (sp?) rip-off type movie that was popular for awhile. It may not end up being that type of film, but that's what the ads screamed to me!
  9. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jan 31, 2007 -> 11:16 PM) Hey, how the hell did this become a HOUSE thread?? Consider yourselves slapped in the hand! I thought last night's Birmingham episode was solid. They didn't show a lot of great talent, but there were some interesting people. The one thing I liked is that with the exception of the last idiot/girl, none of the other ones that really sucked were actually from Birmingham. They could have paraded out a bunch of crappy and made Birmingham look bad, as is often done in the media. But overall, its hard to say how it was, because we probably only saw 6-8 of the 20 that got the golden ticket. I really wish they would show more of the good singers and allow the fans to get to know them a bit before they start to vote on them. Last year there were a couple of the final 24 that didn't have any TV time before that point. OK, I'm going to thread hijack for one second. What's the reaction of the MTV show in town? Do people feel the town comes off looking bad or are they happy the football team is getting props on a national level? QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 31, 2007 -> 05:09 PM) I always wonder how unrealistic the show is. My wife is a nurse, and she will scoff at it from time to time, but they throw enough twists and turns in it to keep her in love with the show. Plus, they usually will twist it in a way so that just when she wants to scream BS at it, they give you something to go "oh...O.K.". As far as drama (and dark twisted humor) goes, it is bar far the best thing on TV. The only drama I even consider watching. lol, sorry, second thread hijack post in a row!! I know as an attorney, legal shows can drive me nuts sometimes with technical stuff, so I imagine it's same with MDs and RNs for medical shows....
  10. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Jan 29, 2007 -> 08:52 PM) It's either the best or worst song you'll ever hear. No in between. It might be one of the best worst songs i've ever heard!! It's really lame, but catchy as hell!!
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 29, 2007 -> 01:59 PM) Their bullpen should be their main weakness. Boston has offered right-handed pitcher Julian Tavarez, who is guaranteed $3.1 million in 2007, and third baseman Mike Lowell, who is guaranteed $9 million. In addition, the Rockies gave the Red Sox a list that includes five prime prospects -- center fielder Jacob Ellsbury, and right-handed pitchers Daniel Bard, Manny Delcarmen, Craig Hansen and Clay Buchholz -- and said one would have to be in the deal. They would consider substituting Jon Lester, who underwent chemotherapy for a non-Hodgkin's lymphoma last year, pending medical approval. But Boston GM Theo Epstein has refused to expand his offer past Lowell and Tavarez. Agree with you about their bullpen. Not to mention the stacked lineups in the AL East they will have to contend with. Anyone know anything about those prospects mentioned?
  12. She's a fixture on the the Howard Stern Roasts as well... she gets ripped on for being fat and ugly etc...
  13. Birthday- Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?- Rod Stewart 18th b-day- Wannabe- the Spice Girls not married yet....
  14. better have a stacked bull-pen against that team, because they will drive a pitch count up in a hurry
  15. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jan 24, 2007 -> 10:17 PM) I think Haeger wins that last spot. I've posted this thought before, but I would LOVE to see Haeger win it. Wakefield has been a godsend to the Red Sox pitching staff. His ability to eat innings and fill in SP and relief can be used in so many ways. I am pulling for Haeger to have a great spring and take that spot, letting the young arms develop in the minors.

    The Office

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jan 12, 2007 -> 03:23 PM) If that wasn't the best episode of the season, its right up there. Ryan Howard: Hi. Hi. Hi. Great sig... according to my TiVO they're showing an hour block of The Office at 9 central, where ER usually is. One of them looks to be the one where Dwight "trains" Ryan, and that's the one with Dwight's bro in the beet farm barn.
  17. Bobby was a good suprise for me last year. His ERA was 4.00, but he only blew 4 saves. In his first full year as a closer he was clutch and impressive. I hope the "low radar gun reading" stories don't start in ST this year. The last 2 years he has built speed as the season went along, and think that's just how he does it.
  18. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 12:21 PM) Looks like Kevin Federline might be hired on as a full-time member of the WWE roster. I don't know what to make of this - as a part-time gimmicky thing, it was fine, but full time? I saw on some sites that ol' K-Fed was actually very respectful to the business and the guys backstage. I think that's where the "full-time" rumors started.
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 11:18 AM) He's more than a good candidate to, I'd fully expect it. where did he bat in the order? If it was #2 in front of Cabrera, that probably helped him see quality pitches.
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 11:17 AM) Soriano has a hose though and I think teams were pushing him based on his in-experience. You'll see those numbers decrease and I think you'd have seen him turn into one of the better LF'ers in the game (defensively). However, it is going to be quite the learning experience for him out in CF. That's what I seem to remember. He wouldn't take good routes to the ball, look a little out of position to throw, then use his arm to make up for it. Also, a few balls dropped that a more experienced OF would have caught, the runner would make a break and get gunned out. One thing Cubs have going for them here is Wrigley isn't the most spacious CF, but the wind and the average OFs around him will hurt.
  21. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 22, 2007 -> 01:19 PM) This is also dependent on whether Dan Uggla is for real or not. If Dan improves upon his numbers from last year and continues to become an even better player in the coming seasons then he could be right up there with Utley probably not as good but a level right below Chase seems reasonable. Your sig is awesome... I've only seen one guy, Wojo at espn.com, own up and eat crow on it... I wonder if anyone else will. I by no means thought Bears would blow-out the Saints, but the saints were only about a month out of looking like complete dogs against the Skins @ home... I thought it was a pick 'em game going in. thread hijack over.
  22. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 22, 2007 -> 01:16 PM) Rob Mackowiak would disagree with you Soriano in CF will be alot like Pods in LF if you ask me. His speed is going to enable him to get to balls nobody else will get to, but his lack of experience is gonna take him on some really bad routes to the ball. I think he is gonna freeze a few times with balls hit right at him, but he will be much better overall at the end of the year. That doesnt mean he is going to be gold glove caliber, but he will probably be able to get by with a little better than average defense. what are the Cubs looking at for their starting OF? Sounds like they'll ink Floyd to a 1-year deal. Are we talking a platoon of Murton/Floyd in LF, Soriano in CF and Jones in RF?
  23. this thread reminds me of one of my favorite quirks in IL law. Possession of canabis less than 2.5grams is a class C misdo, but possession of paraphanelia is an A. It's always fun to explain to people who only had a pipe with basically untestable residue why they want it amended to the possession of canabis, it blows their minds!!!
  24. QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 19, 2007 -> 08:06 AM) Hasn't Al Snow only been a trainer for awhile. Maybe did a job on WWECW once. As for the others, good riddance. They all sucked anyway. I would of let some others go as well. yeah, I think they signed him to a wrestling contract when WWECW restarted, but once they pulled the plug on the house shoes, they didn't need a lot of the talent they had... he's still a trainer for them. I'm suprised The Sandman and Balls made it through this round.
