Vaughn has a hip pointer injury, out 1-2 weeks
And I won't ever disagree with it. Going 4 or 5 years on the outfielder people want is just crazy. It works for 1 year, 2 years at best and even than it will be an overpay. Conforto is just not that good and I'm not giving 4-5 years on someone coming off his worse year in his career...nope. A front-line starting pitcher, a cost controlled guy like Ketel Marte (who is a true difference maker I can see). I would have been fine with Correa (even without a position) cause he's an elite level talent. Go right ahead. Conforto is not that and while he is left handed the reality is he is, just like the many other RF options we have, a lousy defensive outfielder (which is my real problem).

That sucks.

Vaughn has a hip pointer injury, out 1-2 weeks
Fantastic news. Now to hope it doesn't have any lingering effects.

**Movies that we Watch** Thread
Is it for sure that he actually made contact with him? I haven't followed this very closely but the one shot I saw made me wonder if he actually made contact. If he did - I have no idea how Chris Rock wasn't more impacted by it. Like if someone just cold clocked me I don't think I would have reacted in that same manner (in terms of not being at the very least stunned).

Phenomenal showing. Puts us in great position heading into the final game.

Jake Burger is actually pretty interesting
I like Burger a lot. Burgers too. Dude can hit and I think he finds a way to get more at bats than people think. Dude is also much better athlete than I ever thought.

i would trade a 6th for him in a heartbeat (I would have rather done so for Cooper though). But you are right - Jags have signed a bunch of wideouts but I presume they want as many weapons as possible for Lawrence.

I can't imagine Jags are trading a former 2nd round pick (2 years into the league) for Nick Foles and a later round pick, but I am intrigued on the idea of trading for that Jets wideout. I still go back to the one move I really wish Poles made was the Cooper move. I think hindsight 20/20 he makes that move (as I don't think he saw the WR market playing out the way it did). That was a no brainer move that had no long-term cap rammifications.

Bears sign Semien to 2 year deal. Foles probably gets dealt soon (conditional pick or 7th rounder or something).

Nerve wracking - anything can happen in any game (just look at Italy today).

Right call - I was really nervous when I saw it (I thought at first call they gave them a penalty kick in extras). Tough - cause they had that game with better finishing. But I'll take a point on the road.

Last few minutes Mexico is getting opp after opp. Hasn't been pretty...some sloppy defense and nice plays by Mexico.

How bad is it that I have to watch US soccer on Telemundo because no one ever gets whatever station the qualifying games are on. US just missed about as easy of a goal as someone can get (on a great set-up ball). Hope they can at least get the draw here (but boy would be it feel good to get a win!!!). Going to be a crazy final 20+ minutes. Panama got the draw (which actually is good since they were playing a weak opponent) but Costa Rica currently beating Canada could tighten things up a ton.

On downside - pretty sure Ball is out the rest of the season. Tough since it seemed like it wasn’t a bad injury and yet he is missing a ton. Makes you question his overall durability (no knock on him the person - but this is at least twice in his career where a relatively minor injury took a ton of time for him to get back). Hopefully I am wrong and we get good news in ten days when he restarts that rehab.

Patrick Williams looked very good today. Not jumping to conclusions and there was rust - but he looked quicker than I remember. He will struggle as he adjusts but my last impression of him at the start of the season was that he looked slow and overweight. I liked that he seemed to be a bit lighter and quicker today.

I like starting Caruso at PG. Additionally - defense looked like the old defense in the end of 3rd / into 4th when they put on the massive run. Including strong moves from bench and very unselfish ball movement on offense (where it wasn't just a Derozan iso show).

From what I read - he started not so good and kept improving as the season went on. Wasn't a surprise since he had that Achilles injury he was coming back from.

I don't really get the point of that (for Colts). I get it for Falcons. Falcons should have took a QB last year - don't care how good Pitts is, you can't take steps forward without having someone you think can be the QB (even if you end up being wrong - you have to swing on those guys).

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
I don’t get it - I would have thought he could have gotten a 6yr deal with an opt out at year 2 or 3…with at least double the guaranteed money. This can’t be true cause it makes no sense.
