  1. Beautiful, Pablo steals 2nd. Wasn't even close and he had a great jump. Nicely done Pablo Right now I wouldn't mind Pablo moving into the 2 slot as a DH, Guchi moving to the 3rd spot and Everett seeing the bench.
  2. That was close (ozuna going back). I thought with him he'd of been going to 2nd all the way, but guess htey didn't want to be agressive. Lets see if he's moving here. I want all the Sox hitters to take note...if your a righty use right field. This guy is living with offspeed stuff on the outside of the plate.
  3. Thtas freaking awesome. I love Favre as a QB, but no way am I putting up a wallpaper of a Packer on my computer Still very badass, one of the best I've seen of the NFL ones, imo.
  4. Well there is a little difference between 3 straight and 3 in an inning that had a double play. Plus we had a handicap...ie Carl Everett Nice Bmac rolls through the inning. Sox are putting up a crooked number in the 5th.
  5. QUOTE(Maury @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 03:49 PM) Wuzup Jason? Need a big win here. Damn right we do. I want to hear you guys going totally crazy with the Sox putting up a 5 or 6 spot this next inning. They got to capitalize and give McCarthy some breathing room. The guy has pitched his ass of and has gotten zero support from his mates offensively.
  6. Come on White Sox. Robertson is all over the place. Take advantage. Also, memo to Carl: You SUCK
  7. QUOTE(Mercy! @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 01:52 PM) I was a little surprised that Buehrle didn’t just give the standard “no-comment” type of response when asked today on a call-in show on ESPN radio about Carl Everett’s public complaints about being demoted from 3rd to 6th in the lineup. He basically said he was disappointed that Carl complained when you’ve got guys like Borchard and others on the bench who’d love an opportunity to get a chance to contribute. But Carl’s going to be Carl, and he’s going to go off and "say some goofy thing." However, Buehrle was smart enough not to take the bait when he was asked who’d he’d put in the three hole if he were making up the lineup. That’s when he decided to say that the offense wasn’t his business. Carl needs to stop cheating fastballs. He's doing the same thing he was early in the season when he was in a horrid funk. If you give him an offspeed pitch down and away you'll get three swings and misses and Everett will walk to the bench. Throw him a fastball in and he may just get lucky and whallop it. He's f***ing terrible as of now.
  8. Hope everything works out for Joe and his family
  9. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 12:11 PM) Too much of a bad influence with all the pot smoking around the clubhouse?? KRod will surely miss him. No, he just stinks. Of course this is just my wishful thinking. I don't even listen to Angel games on TV anymore. I'll see the score but 99% of the watching I do for the Angels is at the game or listening on the radio while I'm in the car. There tv broadcasts are horribly inept. Hudler = MORON And remember I'm a huge DJ fan, so for all you DJ haters that should say something.
  10. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 07:20 PM) So we dodged a HUGE bullet today, coming back from 12 down in the 4th to beat San Fran. The defense took a big step back from last week which was very dissappointing. Giving up 269YDS and 3TD's to Tim Rattay isn't acceptable at all. And giving 125 yards from 25 rushes ain't good at all either. Julius Jones hasn't gotten it going yet, so that's still a positive sign, 26 rushes 85 yards, 3.3 per carry. that will improve. San Fran was always going to play 8 men in the box today anyway and blitz to try and make Bledsoe beat them. And he did. 363 YDS passing, very nice indeed, even with the 2 INT's. But I'm hoping Parcells and Mike Zimmer are still giving it to the them, especially the defense. We can't play football like that, and expect to go higher than 8-8. Why we're giving up so many big plays, I don't know. Yeah Roy Williams ain't good in coverage, but Newman, Henry and Glenn are 3 quality starting CB's. I don't think they took a huge step back. They just went up against a team that runs a pretty wide open offense and when Rattay is healthy he's actually a pretty solid qb. Of course this game should of never been this close because San Fran sucks defensively. The Boys aren't that great.
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 12:11 PM) Wisco is undefeated as well, and they dont play mich or OSU. Wisco will fold just like they did last year, imo. They still got to play the Purdues, Iowa's, Minnesota's of the world and I think all of those teams are capabe of beating the Badgers as well as MSU.
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 11:45 AM) Its surprising because IOWA's run game looked good until this weekend. I was at the Bucks game, and we flat out dominated their O-line and made Tate look uncomfortable. Plus iowa's d-line is terrible. They rely soley on their backers to pick up the slack. OSU gave away 3 td's on 2 fumbles and a penalty. the game was alot more lopsided than people think. Ya, there new running back has actually done a very good job. OSU just shut down every aspect of Iowa's offense. Iowa State did that as well, but without Drew date for roughly 3 quarters. I still say, Iowa has Tate and they would be 3-1 at this point. That being said, they are nowhere near as good as Ohio State or Michigan State and would get clobbered if they played them at home or on the road (maybe they could come close to MSU because I like Tate's ability to get in a scoring match with them and I think the Iowa defense has some playmakers and should gel). We shall see though. I think 8 wins at most for my Hawkeyes this year.
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) I think that they will lose to MSU, beat Minn, lose to IOWA. And end up with 5 losses. but you never know. I agree with you. They will lose in Iowa City. Michigan and Iowa will be very similar teams this season finishing with similar records. Both will be teams to reckon with next yaer though. And both have the ability to step up and beat a very good team any given Saturday.
  14. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 09:31 AM) we don't play purdue this year. Trust me this team will win 8-9 games this year at the least. They just have to get their act together. Good luck with that. I could see 8, but you guys wont' touch 9. I didn't think you guys played Purdue, but I saw you mentioning them a few times and than assumed you guys did (Purdue has a cake schedule IIRC). And MSU is the best team in the Big 10 along with OSU. IF MSU takes care of business next week, your gonna have one hell of a game in two weeks when MSU and OSU play for in my mind the Big 10 title.
  15. Umm...I'm pretty sure Rex is going to be gone. In fact, I think the Angels will have a whole new team and from what is being said this way Rooney may be one of those guys.
  16. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 06:06 PM) what's his numbers in the last month? he's been dreadful and there's no reason that he NEEDS to start everyday. Honestly, there is every reason for him to be playing consistently, only from the back of the order. Without Everett, this team could find itself in trouble in the post-season. However, if Everett can get hot (and the only way he does this is by fighting through the slump with AB's) than he could turn into another nice bat in the playoffs. I'm not saying he should be hitting 3rd, I like it where he has been the past couple games.
  17. Ugly Ugly game, but for the most part the defense played good. If was just the Bengals working with a short field and Tillman continuing to stink on coverage.
  18. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 08:28 AM) no they won't. They still have an outside chance at the big ten tittle. I ain't sold on OSU. Also Iowa has NO running game. Purdue always finds some way to blow it. MSU has a flawed defense. Im not saying it's going to be easy however don't count them out. Gimme a break, they have already loss one, they will get clobbered by OSU (OSU is vastly superior) and than you have the games against Iowa/Purude, etc. I'm not saying Iowa's great, but they are basically in the same pathetic boat as Michigan as a middle of the pack Big 10 team this year.
  19. QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 06:50 PM) According to ESPN.com, Jason Johnson is starting two games in a row for the Tigers. :headshake Once vs Garland, then vs BMAC. Then Jose is going against Sean Douglass. I'm guessing a scrub will go against BMAC. (Okay, Robertson). Double good news... no Bonderman and no Maroth. I don't care whose pitching...Sox still need to go out and play good baseball.
  20. QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 08:27 AM) Should we clinch the division after this Thursday, would we go in and sweep the Indians out of the playoff to face Boston/NY, or leave them in so that we can play against the Angels in the first round? I guess my question is what team do you think we would play better in the postseason - Angels or Red Sox/Yankees? It's a tough call, isn't it? Not to me. You always, always play to win. There is no switch that you can just turn on and off that says we'll play good today and than bad for a couple days and than go right back to playing good once the playoff starts. If we clinch, than you rest some guys and go easy on your starters, etc, trying to set things up, but you in no way lay down for any team. Play to win, dont' even worry about matchups...if your good enough to win it all your good enough to beat anyone.
  21. Resign Konerko Deal Marte/Duque and Ryan Sweeney for Carlos Delgado (I've been on the Delgado bandwagon for a while and Florida is going to have to get rid of him). Sign a lefty reliever to replace Marte (it would be nice if this guy was the veteran swing man who could ocassionally start) Exercise option on Politte Give Garland a 3yr deal worth 18-24 mill (depending on incentives) Pick up a veteran swingman to enter the pen (who could start if someone falters or gets hurt) Give AJ a 2yr 8 mill deal with a club option for a 3rd year worth 5 million Basically the lineup stays status quo with one exception: Pods Rowand Iguchi Delgado Konerko Pyrzinski Dye Crede Uribe You could switch the lineup up and keep Rowand down in the lineup but I think Guchi could do some good things. You basically add a legitimate middle of the order bat, keep the pitching staff in-tact, and maybe add something to the back of the pen while resigning everyone.
  22. QUOTE(Randar68 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 06:50 AM) KW was technically the GM, even though Ron was behind a lot of that trade, KW was still the guy that pulled the trigger. Not like anoy of the guys we gave up have done much of anything, though. Wells is perfect in a place where they never play any important games and there's no pressure. Bring him back here, and he'd be back to his old self... Realistically as bad as that deal looked at first, he hasn't turned out quite as awful. Kip Wells started off looking really good, but the past two years he's battled some injuries and really hasn't been anything special. That said, for a couple years he would of looked real nice in the #5 spot on the southside. As far as Josh Fogg goes, he had a quick start after the trade but has never really amounted to anything that good either. Sean Lowe pretty much dissapeared. I hated the trade from day one, but one thing I can say is most everyone KW has dealt hasn't went on to become a star. Gary Majewski is about the best looking of all of the prospects he's dealt and I was about the only person that ever liked him that much as a prospect Of course the verdict is still out on Josh Rupe, who has a pretty damn good arm if you ask me. I haven't looked at how Ring's done with the Mets this year but I know he showed a lot of improvements early this season with his new sidearm delivery so he could also be a guy they miss. Considering all the deals he's made, I have zero complaints about any of them for the most part. They all made some sense (as to why we needed the players) they just for whatever reason didn't pan out (at least not all of them). Edit: I guess I should mention Jeremy Reed. Really solid defensively, still has to develop offensively.
  23. They aren't a good team. I was going to pick Wisconsin in our pickem and last second changed it just because I didn't think Wiscy was anything special either. What really killed me was not going with Minny over Purdue like I was planning. I decided one big upset (trying to pick Oregon over USC) was enough for me.
