  1. QUOTE (Brian @ May 4, 2008 -> 07:17 PM) Those suck. Just like Dos Equis. Question about Dos equis! At the end of the commercial, the old codger says "Stay thirsty my friends!" Well if one of the reasons that you drink liquids is to quench your thirst, is this in fact a subliminal message saying "Don't buy our beer?" If you bought it, it would quench your thirst..........but he is saying "Stay thirsty!!" OK then, I'll stay thirsty! I won't buy your beer. I'll eat a box of crackers if it will make him happy!
  2. Hey Doc! Would you mind if I sew up my own wound after the operation is finished. Suture-self!
  3. Does anyone have access to or have a video of Paul Konerko's inside the park home run. I once saw it and laughed a ton on how the bench was cheering him on to make it all the way.
  4. Are the tombstone "double tops" still made anywhere? haven't seen them in quite a few years. If you know of any place that still has them, please post.
  5. I'm on the right with my oldest brother on the left at the opening day world series game. (not sure if picture will come out after I post this. Never did this before)
  6. UNO is pretty good. NOT THE THICK CRUST ONE!!!!! Hard to find, but they make a THIN CRUST pizza. I occasioanally see it at certain Jewel stores near the deli section. I'm not a thick crust person myself. Many may disagree with me, but my feeling is that if you want a thick crust pizza, why not just get a loaf of bread, pour some sauce on it, and have yourself a yeast casarole. I personally like to spend my money on the flavor of the pizza and it's toppings, not just on trying to find the best deal for the most amount of dough. And usually you wind up throwing away the big wad of crust on the end anyway.....so what's the use? What a waste!!!!
  7. Was at a game a few years ago. 46 degrees out with a 25-30 mph wind and it was raining sideways. Freezing, cold, wet. Game finally started at 9:20. It ended a little past midnight. Got home after 1:00 a.m. Had to start work at 5:00 a.m. and had to get up at 3:30 a.m. Epilogue to this story........ After work that day....................................INSTANT COMA!!!!!!!
  8. Behind The times?? How about being a Soxtalk member for over 4 years and only having a little over 500 posts. To put that in perspective, SS2k5 has been a member about a year longer than me, and has me beat by over 49,500 posts. I'll catch up to him by the end of April!
  9. Still don't have a CD player in my car. Can only play cassettes. I remember seeing some cavemen chasing buffalo carved on the back side of the deck.
  10. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 01:54 PM) That first one really makes me miss the old park. I'm right there with ya big guy! Don't get me wrong....I really like The Cell, but nothing can replace some absolutely incredible memories that took place when I was at the Old Comisk.
  11. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Feb 12, 2008 -> 08:43 PM) We better watch it...if he hears about this he might punch us in the ankles. No worries! We'll have to provide him with a ladder before that can happen.
  12. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Feb 12, 2008 -> 04:20 PM) I hear he's not short on personality! Ba-dum-bum. For lunch, he probably eats a lot of "Shrimp" and washes it down with some "Squirt".
  13. I forgot what I just forgot, after I remembered what I forgot, and that was previously after I forgot what I just remembered begore I forgot it the first time.
  14. Hands down... "The Rookie" I also enjoyed "Pride Of The Yankees" "Fever Pitch" and "Facing The Giants" I like true stories with great endings.
  15. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 05:07 PM) Mets fans have to be estatic. Here's one way to find out. One of their message boards about the trade. http://amazinz.com/forums/index.php?showto...1963&st=210
  16. On my wifes car it is "SOX I Am 1" simple because when it comes to being a Sox fan ..."I AM One" On my car it is "SOX R GR8" You might want to try and reverse it to see if it is available...such as GR8 SOX. or SOX GR8 SOX B GR8 SOX IN 05. There's a guy in Bridgeview that must have been a Sox fan for a long time because his plate reads SOX FAN 1. He said that they got ripped off twice already.
  17. Thought that we can try in this direction also and see what pops up. I have nothing real particular to start with, except........ I kind of laugh the way that the crows are made to crack up after they set the guy up to crash into the door because it was so clean from the windex. Also, I like the blues song (Change My Heart) in the Miller commercial when the dalmation jumps from the Budweiser wagon into the Miller truck and sort of has a "Stick It To Ya" smile at the horses.
  18. The other one that shreaked me when it came on, was last year during te Sox games. It was for a hotel, I think it was Red Roof Inn, but can't remember. Anyway, it was thyat idiot who was "multi------tasking" And asked if he was working, he replied 'Remote!!" I would have loved to put on a pair of the old fashioned pointed "Beatles boots" and give that guy one swift shot in the crotch.
  19. QUOTE(shipps @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 09:25 AM) I hate all radio commercials! They are horrible!Tell them about the discount Harry.Tell them about the discount Harry.Harry...tell them about the discount.Awful!!!! Can't forget the ever so irritating car dealer "Everybody's talkin' about THE WEB BOYS" radio commercial jingle. I'd rather gargle with old razor blades than have to listen to that stupid thing ever again.
  20. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jan 11, 2008 -> 03:41 PM) I was thinking Ozzie needed a colonoscopy. I guess since the pun post came up, I'll join in on the wagon. Another way of looking at it is that if we ever signed Colon and he didn't retain his old form, and he got shelled a lot, the saying could go when his name is on our roster........ What a drag!! "We put on Colon, and we still stunk!"
  21. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 11, 2008 -> 11:02 PM) Except the 10 times a game where they come back late from break and we miss the first pitch or 2 of the inning. Ditto on that one! granted, I don't have a problem with picture quality either, but..When it comes showing a game, they cut out many pitches, plus there is no pre-game show, or post game show either. Because of these 3 reasons.......... The Executives at WCIU had their call letters made up for the way tha they broadcast Sox games. Namely ...We.... Chop.... It.... Up
