Levine Says
Because we're not the lying Cubs for one, and two, we aren't shopping him. If someone offers a deal to make us better, that's one thing. However, there is no reason to lie when we plan on reaping the benefits of his return. I look it as a positive that they let the fans know the truth.

Felix Diaz what the??
Besides this year, today's game looks refreshing for next year as the possible 5th man. We need to see more, sure, but the guy isn't the best AAA pitcher at the ripe age of 23 for nothing. Under the pressure surrounding today's game, for several reasons, his performance gives reason for optimism.

Jeremy Reed
He got his hand stepped on and he got injured. I believe he is still day to day and not on the DL, so we shall see how serious it is soon.

Joe Borchard Available?
KW is about winning. I was really upset about Rauch did as well, but if they feel he gives us the best chance of winning, then so be it. Ego has no place on this team. Get the job done no matter what it takes. I'm not surprised, but it's good to see KW is willing to do whatever it takes. He'll make a move as soon as a reasonable opportunity arises.

Something brewing?
He's got good speed, not Willie Harris, but he isn't slow. He reads the ball well defensively and is a smart base runner, which helps him maximize the speed he does have. Charlotte is much more of a hitter park than in Birmingham, and since he's been there, Reed has shown his power potential. He's often been compared to a young Palmeiro.

Gammons: Catcher and 3rd Base
I agree with Olivo for sure, but I'll hold off on Crede. Not because I don't think he is good or won't continue to improve, but because this guy Fields could very well move up quickly and may end up being a better option. We'll see, and like I said, I'm not necessarily saying this to be the case. However, Josh Fields looks like the real deal.

Colon
About four years of concern. The Sox dodged a bullet on that one, which is exactly why they don't sign pitchers for over three years.

We don't need Beltran....
Exactly, and his defense is great as well. It's a no lose situation adding him to the club. Plus he's friends with Maggs. Not that, that will entice either to sign, but the comfort will be there to play well.

Disheartening Article: Magglios GAWN in 05.
That was just the most important pitch he got squeezed on. The ump was terrible.

Kenny Interest in another player?
It was on WSI. I didn't hear it first hand, but supposedly it was said in the post game by Levine.

KW
I agree. Besides, the way we've been drafting, I wouldn't mind the picks at all. Especially with the benefit of going for it all this year. We may lose some of our farm in trying to acquire good talent for a WS run, so the draft picks may very well be needed.

Kenny Interest in another player?
Supposedly, Contreras would have been payed for mostly by the Yanks and the Sox were going to use him as a closer.

Who is this ...
I don't remember anyone giving a s*** when the move happened. Why complain now. We have other prospects that were better options than Ginter, and don't forget he moved to another league. Let's see if he keeps it up, and even if he does, that doesn't mean he would for us. People, stop complaining just to hear yourselves talk.

2005 contract information
Shingo is due $2.5 million next year.

Why in the Hell...
That has paid off more than it has hurt us. You should have watched the game, even tough it was depressing, you would at least see the events unfold. It's real easy to say 8 runs given up, Ozzie's an idiot, but that's not the case.

Call Me Crazy...
Ya Reed isn't batting .400 right now, but neither is Patterson. If you want to use Borchard, fine, I would rather call up Borchard than trade for Patterson. Patterson can be a good player, and the Cubs know it. They aren't going to trade him, and if they did, he wouldn't come cheap. Hence, call up one of our own guys.

Call Me Crazy...
I'd sooner call up Reed to play CF.

Sox Organization
Ya it's a conspiracy. The Sox want to sell less beer. Screw the revenue, that'll show us. Nothing to do with everyone complaining about the drunken fighting.

An Overview of the First Day
That's exactly it, his signability was in question. Being a 13th rounder pretty much solidifies him not signing.

Sox running themselves out
It's that aggressiveness that has allowed us to score more runs than last year. Sometimes you get gunned down, and sometimes you manufacture runs. Even if statiscally it was a wash, at least you keep the pressure on the defense, which is always a good thing. A lot of times it forces pitchers to pitch more fastballs, which is good for our hitters.
