  1. My guess is they offer Benintendi a 3 year deal loaded with incentives. WIth 50 RBI's he'll earn a years worth of Jewel-Osco coupons, a $200 gas gift card and a 2 year subscription to HBO Max. Sadly, he'll decline and take a contract elsewhere with real guaranteed $$.
  2. I feel like were all conditioned to be like the 'old man' from A Christmas Story. Disguntled Sox fans. Ownership has wronged the fans for generations. Especially when the Sox traded Bullfrog for four-eyed Shottenhoffer, a utility infielder.
  3. Why add talent in your contention window, when you can subtract talent and save money? This is a no brainer to Jerry’s wallet. At this stage, every Sox fan should be pissed. I can’t believe we endured that dogcrap rebuild just for Jerry to cry poor when it’s time to compete. Jerry, do us all a favor and sell the damn team.
  4. When isn't he having a bad day? Dude is awful at his job.
  5. To further piss off White Sox fans even more, I’m waiting for the following news to drop soon: “BREAKING, White Sox bring Ventura out of retirement, will be their next manager. Nightengale first to report” It sounds silly. But nothing is out of the realm of possibilities for this inept White Sox front office. They suck. A triumvirate of clowns🤡
  6. I don’t. But the sad part is, we can only hope these knuckleheads finally connect on a trade. I have plenty of doubts.. They’ll find more ways to screw it up.
  7. How the Hell is this guy still the GM? If he wants to re-earn our respect, he can start by resigning. But since that won’t happen, a bold trade or 2 this winter would be nice. This team is flawed beyond comprehension. This administration has failed us time and time and time and time again. Perhaps the 18th times a charm? 🥴🤡
  8. This was expected, but glad it’s official. How about the next issue? When is the announcement that Hahn is let go from his duties as VP of baseball ops? Or better yet, when will KW announce that he has resigned from his duties as president of baseball ops? Or better yet, when will the White Sox be listed for sale? Changes across the board are needed and long overdue. Not just the manager and coaching staff. Heck, even if Jerry doesn’t sell, it’ll be nice to have Michael Reinsdorf takeover and clean house.
  9. I get all the “Fire Tony” chants, he’s made quite a few head scratching calls this season. It’s pretty clear, he’s anti metrics and trusts his “gut” more. Gee, way to utilize resources, old man! This guy is borderline narcissistic and ridiculously stubborn. Time to move on from this bizarre attempt to right a wrong from 30+ years ago. Unfortunately, the Sox issues go behind TLR. I truly don’t understand why Jerry puts these financial limits on the team when they netted well over $180-$200 million in profits during the rebuild. And even if JR did go cheap, (and we all know he never lets his GM’s sign the megastars), Rick Hahn and KW have a top 10 payroll this year. Their offseason’s attempt to augment the roster was pathetic. The issues with the roster were obvious after that butt whooping by Houston in the ALDS, yet they only focused on the bullpen and bench. And let’s be honest, Harrison is a bench player at this stage of his career. They had plenty of opportunities to sign free agents, make bold trades and bolster the rotation, but they sat on their hands and cried poor. The Pollock trade was okay at the time. At least they got something decent back from Kimbrel, but the RF hole should have been filled by a lefty slugger. The plethora of injuries this team seems to always have is another major issue with this organization. Why can’t these guys stay healthy? Are they soft? Do they not train enough? TLR openly admitting these guys don’t hustle down to first base to avoid injury is embarrassing. A new regime is long overdue. Can we trust Hahn to re-tool when his original rebuild and roster construction failed? Why do the Padres, Cardinals, and Dodgers always have the right pieces to land the big fish in trades? Why can’t the Sox develop the prospects to become desirable pieces to other clubs? It seems like only the top international guys and first/second rounders are the ones who make it… Is it a bad organizational approach? Is it piss poor scouting? Shitty coaching? I just don’t get it. The day Jerry sells the organization will be a beautiful day. (Assuming the Sox stay in the Chicagoland area). It’s obvious his loyalty to people who aren’t very good at their jobs is what’s hurting this team and it’s fans. KW, Hahn and TLR all need to go. But for that to happen, Jerry needs to go first. And I don’t think that’s happening anytime soon. And if Michael Reinsdorf eventually takes over, whose to say he won’t carry on his Daddy’s legacy by keeping around his Daddy’s favorite people? If that happens— don’t expect much change. So here’s to us, waiting around, hoping Hahn makes decent trades this weekend. I mean, do we have a choice as die hard sox fans?
  10. Any chance the Sox can pry Jazz Chisholm away from Miami?
  11. Thank you for providing the financial and on-field value of Eloy. It’s ridiculously low right now with all of his injuries. It’s more proof that the White Sox simply don’t have enough prospect/ young player capital to execute such move. Most teams don’t. The only thing that caught my attention about this Soto thing is the looming sale of the Nationals. It might be more challenging to sell a franchise with a $400 million contract on the books.. The Marlins pretty much gave Stanton away to get his contract off the books. Perhaps the Nationals will attempt to gut another teams farm system before they lose him for nothing in 2025? Or perhaps they simply hold onto him and hope new ownership Is willing to give him a record $400+ million deal.. Only time will tell. But Juan Soto will never wear a White Sox uniform. Sadly…
  12. It’s definitely fun to think about. But you are right. It’s fantasy baseball land for sure. Besides, this is too out of the box thinking for the White Sox management anyway.
  13. Would they consider dealing Eloy and Kopech for him? It will likely take 3 other farm pieces as well… but if you want to keep Cease and Vaughn, the convo starts with Eloy/Kopech..

Has Jerry ever fired a manager in season during his tenure as majority owner? Outside of the Ozzie Guillen situation near the end of 2011, I cant ever remember a manager being let go until the end of the season. So the "Fire Tony" chants are a waste of breath this early in the season. It just wont happen. The sad thing is, most of the fanbase know this team is lifeless. I give credit to the Angel and Phillies organizations for actually doing something about their short comings. The only thing that has happened so far is the DFA of Keuchel. At minimum Menechino should be let go for the downfall of the offensive approach. The season is half over, your are 6 games back, 39-42, 11-15 against your division foes and a dogcrap 17-24 at HOME! The Sox dominated at home last season. Where are you at Rick Hahn? Kenny? Jerry? Accountability simply doesn't exist on the southside. In a year that was designated as 'the year' post-rebuild, I am beyond disappointed in the front office for a lack of creativity during a winter that had so many talented free agents and they bring in: Gravemen (good), Kelly (bad), Harrison(embarrassing) and trade for Pollock (meh). Its almost as if Jerry prepared Hahn and KW early in the winter to remain stagnant because of the looming MLB lockout. Now they are stuck in the mud with this underperforming roster. I am disappointed with this dogcrap training staff for not preparing these players to stay healthy, I am disappointed with how soft these players appear to be. I am disappointed in Tony's dogcrap in game managing and old ass stubbornness. I am disappointed anytime TA, LR or JA give away at bats as they often do this season. I am disappointed at my favorite franchise for not appearing to care about what us fans feel and think.. its sad. WE DESERVE BETTER!!! DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!! The sitting and waiting approach HAS NOT WORKED!
  15. Wow! Didn’t realize the injury to segura was that bad. Thanks for the update. Brandon Drury is another name t at makes sense too. 👍
  16. I think the TA injury indirectly saved Harrison from being DFA’d at the time Dallas was DFA’d. Once Timmy comes back at the end of June, and Mendick is still out-producing Harrison, I just can’t see the point of keeping him around. Sure he has his spurts of offense and his glove is sound, but it’s clear that he is one of the worse bats in the lineup in a year that many of the normal producers are having down years and/or are hurt. As much as I appreciate Mendick for depth purposes and I prefer him at 2B to Harrison, I think a true veteran upgrade is in order at 2B at the trade deadline. The two guys I’ve been looking at are: Adam Frazier and Jean Segura. Frazier will for sure be on the block with Seattle’s current situation and will come cheaper since his numbers are down at the moment. (Granted much better than Harrison) And he’s in the final year before free agency. Segura is having another solid year for Philly and does have a club option for 2023 so he brings in more value not only this year but as an option for next season as well. The issue here is that it appears Philly found some new life-post Girardi and Dombrowski was brought in to win and add to the roster, not be apart of a “retool” or tear down. Should be interesting to see it all unfold. It would be nice to see Hahn finally get creative with the roster “augmention” at the deadline.
  17. Jerry did tell his family to sell the White Sox and keep the Bulls after he passes. This article was from 2013, so perhaps there maybe a change of heart? It does sound like he intends to keep the franchise until the very end of his life. After he passes, it sounds like there will be quite a few interested in purchasing the organization from the Reinsdorf family and it's investors. Now although more Reinsdorf family members are getting in on the more stakes in the team, I find it hard to believe they won't listen to Jerry's wishes. https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/big-league-stew/jerry-reinsdorf-tells-family-sell-white-sox-keep-161248308.html
  18. There were a plethora of talented free agents available in the winter and now because Hahn wasn't creative enough and/or JR refused to open up his wallet, the attention goes to the trade deadline. This team is super flawed and it is Hahn's fault for ignoring the glaring needs during the winter. I've seen enough of the Josh Harrison/ Leury combo platter at 2B. I've seen enough of the revolving door in RF. Hahn deserves to be fired. Sadly, that won't happen. The front office, Steve Stone and TLR will continue to call out Sox fans for being frustrated at the current product and performance. How dare us!!
  19. If the White Sox want him, the Padres will get him. This is starting to get silly. Unrelated but the Tatis Jr deal set the tone as these rebuilds were pretty parallel with one another. After that, the Sox were linked to these players before SD got them. 1) Machado 2) Snell 3) Adam Frazier at the trade deadline last summer. 4) Now Sean Manaea.
  20. Another underwhelming Hahn move. How I feel about this offseason in 1 meme.
  21. Agreed. If you do the math and add up the team payrolls, the Sox were also close to $120 million below league average from 2017-2019 (About $40 million below league average per season). I'm not buying all the hype that the Sox are "Maxed" out on spending money. And that they are in the top 5 in team payrolls right now, so fans should be happy" When you have glaring needs and can easily spend $20-25 million more to address those needs but simply decide not to, fans have every right to be pissed off. This was a very deep free agent market and Hahn and co were not involved at all. Inexcusable. The defense in the corners of the OF will be brutal. The catching defense will be bad and this team STILL needs that starting pitcher. Something Hahn mentioned they were going to address before the lockout. 😠
  22. I think it’s time for an “Offseason part 4” thread. Because part 3 sucks just as bad as part 2.
  23. It’s March 19th, the season is a few weeks away and there is still a huge hole in RF and the starting pitching depth is a huge concern. Outside of re-signing Leury, signing an aging cheap 2B with diminishing skills, 2 relief pitchers (liked the signings), and a cheap starter with an ERA above 6, I’m having a hard time believing this team is better than the 2021 squad. I know the off-season isn’t over yet, but I can’t believe there were that many talented free agents available and the Sox refused to get “uncomfortable” financially to address the remaining roster concerns. It’s not like these issues can be addressed with farm depth either, we all know the Sox are dead last in a lot of farm system rankings. If they platoon Leury/Engel/Sheets/Vaughn in RF, they are pathetic. It’s the same formula as 2021. It didn’t work. Both Vaughn and Sheets aren’t natural outfielders, Engel is coming off major injuries and Leury’s best role is back up infielder. Sox are close… but could be much closer. And yet, profit margins still seem to be the priority on 35th and Shields. Sad.
  24. I know it’s premature and it still sounds like there is hope for the Sox to add to the rotation and maybe more, but let me complain about the RF situation for a second. Last winter Hahn brought in Eaton when Brantley was available, in 2020, he brought in Mazara when Castellanos was available. In 2019, they could have spent the big bucks and signed Bryce Harper, but opted to give Palka and Leury a majority of playing time. In 2018 it was Nicky Delmonico and the list continues… Hahn also says every winter that they will always look to add at the trade deadline if needed. Well it will always be “needed” because the Sox constantly go bargain bin shopping for right fielders, the one constant hole on this team since Jermaine Dye. For ONCE spend some $$ and fill the damn hole. At this point I don’t give a damn if it’s Conforto or Castellanos, but it’s safe to say, a premium RF addition is LONG OVERDUE!!!
