I genuinely don't get how Abreu isn't playing today, especially when you know he wants to be

Is 12 million not close? 10 million? It's early but it'll be at least that at the absolute minimum so everything still applies there

Apparently a serial killer won Soxmath

2 rbi single for sheets but man that ball should have been put in the seats. 107 mph straight into the ground

Because he's set to make 14 million on a cash strapped team. Sox can get terrible production for a lot less if someone would take him off our hands.

Need to get thet Giolito ERA under 5 to potentially up whatever minimal trade value he has.

So he's got the same problem as Sandy Alomar, who would be my pick. If I were in charge, and I'm not, I'd probably disqualify him all together for his connections to the Astros, albeit he did join after 2017 so I guess maybe I'd give some wiggle room.

LaRussa retiring on Monday
Oh he definitely didn't, regardless of what was said

LaRussa retiring on Monday
I believe Ozzie just said they already know who the manager is. He gave 2 names to Our Chuck and said it would be one of those two names, and I think he said he got it directly from Hahn. I couldn't really understand him but that's how I took it.

He had another DUI we didn't know about?

The comedic next manager thread
Since Rick Hahn has never made a wrong decision in his life, he'd make for the perfect manager.

White Sox Mgr Speculation Thread
The line in there about Hahn not wanting Tony is unnecessary PR for Hahn. Just annoying because Hahn is a bugger problem and should be gone too.

So Hahn is the one leaking this news clearly. So annoying.

Kopech has knee surgery - expected to be ready for ST
You can play with a torn meniscus and do so without any real risk of long-term damage. We know that because of the various players that have played with torn meniscuses at various clubs all over MLB. It was time for Kopech to get innings on his arm. Pretty straightforward, albeit not ideal. Also, your link and assertation are seemingly incorrect. The August injury was a different injury. I agree it was likely time to shut him down then. But having him miss the season on June 12th when he tore his meniscus is not it.

He got hurt on June 12th. So you wanted him out for the year then. He'd be entering his 6th MLB season for you never having thrown more than 70 innings as some literal who takes over during a playoff push (that never happens anyways). Thats awful and does more harm than good at this point.

Yep he first complained about his knee in June. Can't afford another missed season from him given he's missed over 2. If he was better than the next options (and he was) and going to miss the season on something he can pitch with, then the right call was to have to pitch through it. The training staff is seemingly terrible at preventing injuries, but the injury here did occur.

Kopech has knee surgery - expected to be ready for ST
Of course not. He has to give value to the Sox at some point and if that includes playing through injuries that he can play through, then do it. Of course it didn't matter in the end since the rest of the team is garbage.

Pretty sure the Rays have like 5 lefty hitting 2b that need to be rostered soon. You can start looking there although depending on the name not sure if starter quality.
