  1. Ok so I'm digging this out of the mothballs. Am I the only one sick of seeing Keppinger bat 6th ? The season is lost . Keppinger is old and a utility guy , hardly ever hits anything in the gaps with power etc etc for his lack of power. I do not understand DeAza at this point not being in the middle of the lineup when he's red hot , or even Tank who hits Detroit well and Phegley for that matter who hits doubles and HR's. Yes I'm tired of the Sox losing and waiting for trades to start. What is the harm in playing with the lineup and putting guys who are supposedly the future in the hot seat and seeing how they respond.
  2. Peavy's not only scheduled to pitch tomorrow but appear at the Wild Pitches charity event after the game. Clearly we're looking at the weekend for any trade.
  3. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 06:29 PM) Damn, so he is hitting .421/.450/.684/1.134 since the AS break and he hasn't even been trying?! Yea the scout for the team that wants him. It's all just misinformation.
  4. Rangers supposedly interested in DeAza and Rios according to Sox post game show.
  5. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 01:00 PM) Haha, I was just on my way over here to break the unfortunate news but ss2k5 beat me to it. Yep, my road ends here. I just wanted to say thanks to all of ST for having my back throughout this entire deal. I don't think I could ever repay you guys. If there's a silver lining in this, I get to spend the last part of my summer in Chicago & I get to go into U.S. Cellular Field to catch a game live. If the Sox all of a sudden go on a massive winning streak, I will take total blame for it. Damn , that's a shame . Must've been that Bulls tweet when they stopped the Heats streak. I'm sure it was an amazing experience that you will always look back fondly on. Good luck in future endeavors.
  6. QUOTE (whitesoxws05 @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 07:22 PM) You have to love the loud, sarcastic cheer when we finally scored. Naturally, Rios followed it up with a double play. Didn't appear to be running hard either.
  7. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...ws&c_id=cws Sox website saying Middlebrooks part of discussions with Boston for Peavy. Rios and Rangers.
  8. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 07:46 AM) The guess is going to be yes. Honestly, we need to stop pestering bucket for information. Be glad for the info that he does share with us, and let's leave it the luxury it is. He hears more than we do, but it's generally all speculation anyways. I say this with no means to offend bucket by any stretch of the imagination, and we are greatful of any info posters on the site can share with us behind the machinations of the White Sox organization. At the same time, it's still hearsay and most of the time, the deal falls through and nothing comes of it. This reminds me of my entrepreneurship class. You can think of 100 good business ideas. Of those, you may be able to make legitimate progress on 10 of them. Of those 10, you MIGHT get 1 to succeed. It's not a high probablity outcome. You're right about pestering bucket . We need to pester Rock (raines) too
  9. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 08:27 AM) I finally watched this last night and all I have to say is what a strange, strange cat. All this talk with him referring to himself/"Hawk" in the third person and then of course the endless stories about baseball HOF-ers from back in the day which we've heard from the booth hundreds of times over the past years. It seems like all the players (non-Sox) he's knowledgeable about are from decades ago. I've never gotten when you've got a major market team with an announcer always dispensing down-home, old-timey southern wisdom in a southern-y accent and constantly firing off cliches like "can of corn" when nobody under 60 would even know what that means. It's time for a change. Time for a poll. I'd say 99% of the posters are under 60. And we all know what it means.
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 07:31 PM) Insert Viciedo gif here. Conor's gaffe at 3rd was similiar.
  11. Don't forget this is more or less Hahn 1st dance with chips at the deadline. He's being tested by other GM's. He has to show some balls , be tough, be inflexible, play it close to the vest, bluff, then accept begrudgingly. He won't come away empty handed.
  12. Who would ve rather seen Phegley 6th than Keppinger raise your hand .
  13. Home plate ump making up for 1st base ump . Sox getting some calls.
  14. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 05:20 PM) Tigers announcers saying its a terrible call. It was a terrible call. Everybody knew Hunter was a goner , including Hunter, since he was leaving the field when he realized Darling the ump was saying go to 2nd. Dunn was in the way .Hunter juked to get around him just as Dunn moved the same way right in his path as Keppy tagged Hunter. You call the out there's no argument from any one. You make the call he did Ventura gets ejected.
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 05:21 PM) What happened Groundball to Kepp but Dunn too far away from 1st , Santiago had to cover on the run . Had to adjust to a throw behind him like a wide receiver.
  16. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 04:31 PM) Adams strike anyone else as someone who's going to battle weight issues? I can't think of any major leaguers who couldn't control their weight well enough to hurt themselves considering they have a whole training staff dedicated to keeping them healthy and the whole " I can make millions of $ if I don't stuff my face " thing going for them. We hear about Fielder and Cabrera , know how big Cecil Fielder got, see ST pics of Cabrera looking fat and yet they produce year after year. So you're just going to worry about a perceived problem with a guy now ?
  17. http://www.chicagotribune.com/videogallery...in-juggling-act Cooper talking about Crain says if everything goes we'll we see Crain 28th, 29th, 30th without a rehab assignment. Cutting it very close and that's best case scenario.
  18. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 04:02 PM) I'd be tickled s***less about that trade. I'd feel the same way about Wong/Adams/Kelly, which might be easier to swing with the StL fanbase Who wouldn't ? We get rid of 2 guys over 30, a whole lot of salary, get younger and a big middle of the lineup bat. I think if both Lexi and PV go to the Cards ,Sox will include money and also a prospect if need be to get it done. Absolutely have to have Adams . Everyone else is secondary. This happens I don't care who else is traded. This is the one like Neo was The One.
  19. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/jon-heym...l-peavy-suitors Not unexpected that Heyman says Red Sox and Cards emerging as top suitors of Peavy possibly with Az in the mix. That's all we've been talking about here. Peavy and Alexei makes so much sense to the Cards its scary .
  20. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 11:40 PM) My friend thinks I'm special.... Like... reaaaaally speeecial. In a special sort of way. Not special as in likable... or lovable... But special. Real special. wtf? Like riding the short bus special ?
  21. Are you sure you haven't started drinking again ? Your back in poop mode. In the spirit of this thread I will say how good a deal with multiple partners would be . A nice old fashioned 3 way. Oh yeaaaaaaah !!
  22. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 06:46 PM) It'd be so incredibly huge for him to take this job and run with it.....hopefully in a couple of years we see him catching Carlos Rodon on our way back to a division title. 20-1 against the Sox getting Rodon and becoming a ML starter.
