  1. I have the 7 DVD set. Games 1-4 of the WS. Game 5 against the Angels and game 3 against the Red Sox + the2005 WS bonus DVD. Also have my own DVD I made of the parade and switching channels to ESPN and as many reports/stories of the Sox winning it all as possible.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 24, 2012 -> 08:16 PM) Not sure if that was good or bad. IT"S ALL GOOD !!
  3. Ha I as just thinking when was the last time Dunn hit 2 HR's off a leftie in the same game.
  4. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 07:56 PM) Is that an actual Olympian ? I can't see a country.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 07:41 PM) 17 pages? This thread was about as well attended as the game was. Let me guess, dynamic pricing at Soxtalk made it too expensive? When there' nothing to b**** about it's a short thread.
  6. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 07:17 PM) 3,200 plus hits.............thought it would've happened at some point.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 21, 2012 -> 07:45 PM) He's fast. He's a good fielder. He can hit a bit. He good. He has been on fire since rejoining the Sox.
  8. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 21, 2012 -> 07:42 PM) His arm last 2 years is way down. Dude a little leaguer could have thrown AJ out from that distance.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 21, 2012 -> 06:02 AM) I read in the game thread a lot of ripping him. One post said 80-90% of his moves blow up in his face. Combine that with all the bad players on the roster, its amazing this team is in first place. Game threads are pitiful when we fall behind or don't hit early. Even in a come back win when there should be rejoicing the most negative posters hardly utter a peep. It's like you can't sound knowledgable cheer leading only when criticizing.
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 03:58 PM) Alexei Ramirez with RISP: .350 AVG, .846 OPS 2 outs, RISP: .318/.788 WAR: 1.1 bWAR, .7 fWAR The thing that sticks out to me in Alexei's numbers is that his walk rate is way down. I don't have a good explanation for this other than perhaps the lack of power has pitchers unafraid to go right at him. I would say it could be related to his somewhat diminished role given the breaking out of Dunn, Rios, AJP, Youk, ADA...but it isn't like Alexei was ever a truly featured hitter. It could easily be the opposite of what I think, that a poor eye is preventing the power from coming out rather than vice versa. I would say that's the same problem Beckham has. His batting average with 2 strikes is putrid and seems like he's always got 2 strikes on him. He looks like Morel with the stuff he 's been swinging at . Maybe in college he was a "see the ball hit the ball" hitter because of talent. At the ML level you get ungodly breaking pitches so you have to be smart as a hitter, not confidence as much as knowing pitchers, knowing what they throw on certain counts . If you're a smart hitter you look zone instead of type of pitch, you have to know they rather get you out on crap pitches than something in the zone when you're behind in the count. Talent alone hasn't been the answer so he better start using his head.
  11. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 09:22 PM) - Weiss maintains perfection on the mound, at least for one more day. My head aches. Wise also said Weiss in game thread
  12. Sox 44-6 when out-homering opponents. That's why we can't beat the royals . Way more HR's than them but they hit the same amount as we do when we play them.
  13. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Aug 19, 2012 -> 12:48 PM) And hopefully the loss and the sweep too. I wasn't feeling it sorry.
  14. QUOTE (Caesar @ Aug 19, 2012 -> 01:35 PM) Ventura and his inexperience is killing this team. Oh please fans every where question managerial decisions. There's no such thing as a perfect manager. Moves you make won't work and some will. He didn't pinch hit for Olmedo or Wise and that turned out good.
  15. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 19, 2012 -> 12:47 PM) The jinx on the perfect game worked so now I'm jinxing the no no and the shut out
