  1. He's old enough to be Venerable since he was hired to manage men much younger than himself and impart his wisdom and knowledge upon them.😋
  2. Took me about 15 seconds but GS means Grand Slam in reference to his HR robbery .
  3. They can rack up WAR doing what they are doing WAR loves OBP inflated OPS.
  4. Off topic, but it just occured to me that Venable is very close to the word Venerable which means " accorded a great deal of respect especially because of age ,wisdom and knowledge. " Carry on ! I swear I've not once seen anyone yet call him the Venerable Will Venable, probably because it's a bit over the top.
  5. You're right Greg .Just when the team is starting to play a little better led by the resurgent Robert, JR. It will hurt to trade him. However this is what we wanted . He's hurt way too often just like Crochet was but he has so much talent that a healthy Robert who walks and steals, plays very good defense and hits bombs is also highly enticing to teams looking to make a major impact at the trade deadline. The only winning future is to find at least 2 more productive , cheap players you can stick on the team for 6 years like Quero or Meidroth, Teel , Braden Montgomery, or Noah Schultz , Hagen Smith , Grant Taylor, Shane Smith or maybe even Miguel Vargas. Maybe in 2 years the Ishbia's can resign Robert as a free agent.
  6. I think we're past that stage. We just want the best return as possible for what he is. We know it won't be as good as we got for Crochet but hopefully not that far from it. If he keeps this up in 2 weeks Getz could be fielding decent offers because he might be at 1.5 WAR by then. Even though you already have 22 players in MLB already at or above 1.5 with Judge approaching 3 it would be a huge improvement over a good month of sucking.
  7. Crap I just realized something bad is about to...nevermind. Can't have nice thing syndrome. Inner voices. Good Smeagol.
  8. Between Vargas, Robert, Quero and Meidroth that a lot of OBP in the last week. Combined I'm guessing it's an easy .400 in the past 7 or 8 games.
  9. 8 now, hit one yesterday and Elko hit his 10th.
  10. While I always try to avoid the blatant Getz sucks comments because I see progress and realize he's got puppet strings attached to him, in this instance Getz sucks because the words coming out of his mouth is pure BS and not indicative of a grasp on the present. It actually sounds a lot like Hahn or JR forked tongue convoluted meanderings.
  11. What a bunch of BS. Call a spade a spade for heavens sake. They have plenty of data on Vaughn already . This mythical quest for a minor league relief pitcher like the guy who just retired from the Jimenez trade is asinine. All that GM speak is just Getz trying to justify Vaughn's salary and draft pedigree while at the same time enhancing Elko's wrong side of the tracks upbringing and denying his own endless speeches about building a culture. How about building a culture based on merit and accountability ? Sox fans are hungry for change. We get it power hitters K a lot. It's better than Vaughn's endless display of how to rack up reams of negative WAR. We want to support the younger guys not the old failures. While casually dismissing Elko's future status, it's hypocritical to put so much effort into Vaughn's future or even the future of an imaginary minor league relief pitcher. It's not like the future is the only thing to have to worry about. You have to show a commitment to more than 41 wins and bad attendance and stop ignoring the putrid smell right under your nose stinking up the present. Throw the fans a bone and stop worrying about Andrew Vaughn's pension and favored son status.
  12. Thanks appreciate you. I tell you if it was Colson Montgomery putting up Elko numbers he'd be up already. I guess anyone can play 1st. At least Amaya can run and field a lot better than Vaughn . Free Elko , demote Vaughn.
  13. I hope Altuve and Alvarez stay asleep .They are usually Sox killers.
  14. Should be a good crowd At least 30K if the weather is decent.
  15. I guess that's a Shane Smith reference . The Shangeup?🙂 Quero and Meidroth will be on that list soon.
  16. Cole McConnell ,24 yr old, 10th Round pick last year is off to a nice start playing RF for the Dash . No power yet but over .300 BA and around .860 OPS. LHH takes his walks, 6'1 210. Hit 18 HR his last year at Louisiana Tech.
  17. When do the Sox play in Yankee Stadium this year ? Elko has to be up to hit a couple to that short porch in RF.
  18. But 2-0 in May . 10+ wins coming this month !
  19. It's called Talkin' Baseball. It's amiable chatter 😋
  20. When the Sox win they win in style .When they lose. It's usually somewhat close.
  21. City Connect Unis were the stars of the night too.
  22. We're like a dog used to being kicked then a few days in a row your master says good dog and you stop cowering.
  23. Great team game Contributions from up and down the lineup and the pitching staff. Quero my goodness you're almost as hot as Elko !
