  1. Huuuuuge K. Man Narvaez sets up off the plate a lot.
  2. Nobody knew it could be so complicated.
  3. hoo boy, soto is out too. Now THIS is a sunday lineup.
  4. The nets are basically starting a D league team so if bulls lose...the league shoudl overrule and put in Heat.
  5. Good Renteria tweet on Anderson. Edit: click the pic.twitter link for the quote.
  6. Edit: yeah clearly I can't figure it out either. Sorry.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 02:02 PM) its just a tweet in its own page Ha, cool. I thought iwritecode had been compromised.
  8. Is that a bad image link? Looks like a scary URL to click.
  9. While recognizing these are public universities, honestly didn't realize they had ability to regulate athletic conferences.
  10. And Laumann thought Courtney Hawkins was better than Corey Seager. It's weird, almost like amateur players sometimes fail and succeed in a way that is difficult to predict.
  11. I think Law's framework for pitchers makes sense as a drafting philosophy (taller, mechanically sound pitchers tend to make majors more), but as a talent evaluator through minors I think it's a little boring. Its too rigid and doesn't put much thought into why different types of pitchers may be effective. I like the BA guys for pitchers more, and law and longenhagen for hitters. Worth noting that both law and longenhagen aren't high on Robert.
  12. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/here-are-th...ins-and-losses/ Not that big of a deal, but considering the uptick we saw with Kahnle thought it was interesting to see other end of the gun. This is using the pitchf/x speed, not the new statcast calc. Ynoa - 94.7 to 91.1 (-3.6) Petricka - 95.4 to 91.9 (-3.5) OTOH, we are talking about 3 IP here between the two of them. Something to watch, better than grammartalk.
  13. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 11:01 AM) He wasn't. Sox make a big deal about wanting players to face adversity in minors before majors, that seems to be their takeaway with Beckham. I guess waiting for AAA to catch up to him could have done that, but moving him aggressively should have as well.
  14. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 10:59 AM) Awesome to see that Alec could bounce with such an impressive performance after such an awful one. Definitely. He seems to really be taking to the sox org's treatment of him.
  15. SSS and all but I'm pleasantly surprised with Garcia. M.O. from Pitt on him was he had all the tools but never put it together at plate. Finally gave up on him, but always nice to see a hot start as you always wonder how much of it is mental. Little success early on can go a long way.
  16. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 09:20 AM) Keith Law thinks Minnesota goes Brendan McKay at #1. He said he'd take Greene but he feels like Minnesota won't just because a HS righty has never gone #1. Who could blame them. No way I'd go HS pitcher #1 after the 2014 draft.
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 08:42 AM) this apology was about money, they don't give a s*** about feelings He did an actual apology, much less public, at an appearance at Newseum last night. Spokespeople shouldn't expect to comment publicly right?
  18. QUOTE (Username @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 08:54 AM) Not sure how he can criticize Moncada's bat wrapping tendencies and be okay with Bellinger's swing long-term (it's got a serious hitch and wraps a bit as well) but that's just me. The SO criticisms are certainly warranted, but from what I've seen he's not chasing pitches - guy actually has great plate discipline, which tends to translate to fixing problems like that. The strike out to end last night was the perfect example: he worked a deep count and got a bad call by the ump. I agree with you, but this board is insane with the trashing any negative write-ups on players or prospects as biased and chasing any good reports as the "real" reports. He has Moncada ranked THIRTEENTH. He obviously thinks he is good.
  19. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 08:39 AM) Seems to criticize Moncada for striking out, but has Meadows ranked above him who has been awful in his first 5 minor league games batting .056 and striking out 9 time in 20 plate appearances Collins has been pretty impressive so far in 6 games, having thrown out 3-4 potential base stealers, only allowing a runner to advance with runners on third and first and he faked the throw to second yeah.
  20. So there it is, the first apology in the Trump administration is for claiming a dictator was worse than Hitler's because he did something hitler never did, except what he did was what Hitler was known for, and then even in that apology tried to clarify by saying Jews weren't innocent people. Glad we found the line.
  21. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 08:22 AM) Keith Law updated his top 50. Basically didn't move any players around from his top 100 but he took out guys that have graduated from prospect status like Swanson, Bell, Benintendi etc: http://www.espn.com/blog/keith-law/insider/post?id=6988 #5 Michael Kopech Best upside of any starter in high minors Potential for 3 plus pitches #1 starter build and delivery that works Command and secondary offerings not major league ready Struck out 10/18 batters in AA debut Top 5 starter in baseball upside #11 Lucas Giolito Up and down showing in spring training Working on restoring old delivery Low 90's 2 seamer more and mid 90's 4 seamer less Transition could mean more AAA time #13 Yoan Moncada White Sox bumped Moncada to AAA even though he came into year with just 53 games above A ball Doing what he usually does, making hard contact when he makes contact and striking out more than you'd like Playing 2B full time again. Law gets criticized by Sox fans because he doesn't think Lopez and Fulmer are starters and he's the low man in the industry on Moncada. He's the high man on Kopech though and still believes in Giolito when many don't. But yes, he hates the Sox. And his criticism of Moncada is the same as many posters in the minor league thread last night.
  22. So Cespedes may hit four in a game tonight. Was at 3 thru 5 innings.
