  1. I would take getting into the world series and losing like the phillies did. But anyway love how Hahn can be "realistic" in judging what his players can accomplish but has never been realistic about what the trash front office he has overseen for a decade can accomplish. The exciting thing for hahn is he can save his father Jerry some money. He certainly won't bring in talent that will help us do s%*#.
  2. Pedro latest Sox employee to only allow for honesty when addressing the fans that pay their salary. KW, Hahn, Ricky, Tony, and now Pedro. At least Cairo wasn’t a coward. Poor guy.
  3. After three “baseball players” in Vaughn, Madrigal, and Fulmer failed as top picks, I wonder if I’ll still have to hear guys denigrated as “just an athlete, KW guy”.
  4. Good luck Popeye. May this team not ruin you. Guessing Grifol will bat him lead off.
  5. Well last year the fans were trying to will that team to be competitive and they were just as listless. They deserve this years atmosphere.
  6. Just lose a lot of respect for a player when the clear clubhouse leader leaves, you are a top player and have been around for the longest, and do nothing to lead the team all while blaming others and praising yourself. He's a good shortstop, possibly at the start of a long-term decline. One of many reasons I would have traded him in offseason.
  7. Nightengale really is the worst. Just absolutely unlikeable. Incapable of any insight except praising people for being old and looking up a hitting or win streak and calling the team/player fabulous.
  8. Plenty of love for Masai Ujiri and Tim Connelly in these, who are no longer there

    Nice game for Uribe.
  10. Blogabull pointing out that all of these "how the nuggets were built" do not mention Karnisovas. Amazing how a reinsdorf can so easily find the guy that is just there and liked and won't ruffle feathers or try too hard.
  11. Uh, I mean the writers who were laid off overlapped a lot with teams that could not generate national interest. The yankee beat writer stories get pushed to national feeds a lot. Nobody outside (and inside) chicago could feign interest in the sox when the sox themselves aren't interested in competing with broader baseball.
  12. I think the surprising thing to me is the athletic not realizing the situation and just bumping fegan up to cover national or moving him to a better market. SBNation did that with Bill Connelly when he was originally just a mizzou site guy. But here's a pitch to subscribe to BP, which is writer-owned and where Fegan started. If he moves back there, especially.
  13. There are like 7 white Sox fans.
  14. The reality is as much as I like jahns I realized I consume most of his content outside the athletic. The one thing it had was paying for fegans prospect work / player dev stuff and brugler for me. And the draft just happened
  15. The more this sets in the more it bothered me. I canceled.
  16. it is.
  17. I'm not canceling my athletic subscription, because there are other writers I like as much as Fegan whom I'm not trying to get fired as well, but I honestly felt a bit responsible. I would still click into his articles but couldn't even read this last year. It's an embarrassment that our team can't generate enough interest for a beat writer, but I have to admit, they haven't created enough interest for a person who invests a ton in the white sox to want to read about them daily.
  18. We had multiple 5+ game win streaks that year and a 10-1 stretch that basically made the playoffs for them.
  19. I kinda wondered if Yoan was going to be like Adrian Beltre, who had inconsistent and then blazing seasons. But boy, sure is a big difference between historically good defense and good. And years hitting 161 wRC+ and 135. I do think he eventually puts it together.
  20. Very true. As the most pro-bird at GRF fan there is, I can't help but wonder if falcons would be so necessary had they not gotten rid of the alpha goose?
  21. Wow nice job AD

looks like DSL and ACL will start next Monday, soon we'll have some daytime follows. This was a pretty big group for sox so may be a nice dsl follow this year.
  24. bummed I had circled this game to maybe take the kids to but I thought no chance Ohtani played. Wish I'd have risked it.
