It was fun to be at, other than yelling at the ump.

5/11 Sox-Marlins (Happy Mother’s Day)

He's been awful the whole game. Half of the calls on Burke were wrong by the app. This game would be a lot different with abs. I can see it from the bleachers. -

When they decide its time to start trying. They want to make sure they get that first pick. I will guess by July we will see more wholesale changes of the young guys. They are slowly adding them. -
Absolutely amazing.

He got out of here. -
New Pope is from Dolton. Maybe he can exorcise the demons.

Most lineups are determined by the analytics departments in today's game. There is input from the manager on who has a day off. Managers to tinker a little but very little comparatively.

Eating a polish is pretty much like wrapping your hand around your heart and squeezing. I don't see an issue.

Soxtalk mourns the passing of our beloved friend Alex (Heads)

So sad. Sorry to hear this. Have gone back and forth with him about our Iowa connection since I joined in 2004. Prayers to his family and loved ones. -
It will be interesting to see whose at bats he takes. DH time from Quero, playing time from Vaughn, Vargas or Rojas with the 3B/1B mix.

With mine, i get most milb.tv

That is technically better, sad but better.

They were shutout 8 times in the first 35 last year.
-
Many players did. They just weren't silly enough to discuss it with the press.
-
Om not agreeing either way. Vaughn hasn't shown anything special. Elko ks too much too be good. I'm just trying ot figure put why the Sox don't like him and that's all I can come up with. Vargas at first and Rojas at 3rd unless Ramos starts hitting is probably the best right now. Edit: I think what I agree with is that Elko won't have much of a chance for success. However ivwpild give him a chance over Vaughn, if those are the only choices.

Bought one of the hats when I was there this weekend. I agree that it doesn't replace the old one but a nice variant to have.

I'm not supporting anything. I'm just saying that reading between the lines of all the comments from Getz down to Thames, they want players with less swing and miss on the team and throughout the organization. Also saying that take offensive production from Charlotte with a skeptical eye because historically that ballpark inflates stats. Everyone can argue for Elko all they want but the organization doesn't seem to like what he has and his glaring weakness is swing and miss.
-
Its definitely weird. If he can keep the K rate to just bad, they may give him a chance.
-
Not velocity specifically but the overall hitting. There's no doubt that Elko can hit it hard if he makes contact. Just all of the overall numbers will be inflated.
-
Still Charlotte. Julks and gray have ops above 900. It's a hitters paradise.
-
You are correct. Which is why I think they are leaving him in Charlotte.
-
I think a large payoff it is the K rate for Elko. Thames and Fuller have talked extensively about decreasing the team swuing and miss and increasing the number of players on base. Elko is better this year but they want to see it. Also remember Elko is hitting at Charlotte. Meidroth was hitting HR there with a 600 slug. His slug in chicago is 300.
