As much as I love professional sports as entertainment, part of me wishes the greed from all sides would cause it to collapse into itself. If this is true, I don't EVER want to hear the term Black Sox uttered again. Maybe if the White Sox didn't stink I wouldn't think this, but I hope this causes a major public backlash for MLB. I know it won't, though.

If you bring up Machado, the simple fact of the matter is this, they offered him a contract that they knew he wasn't going to sign. Used that offer to sell to the fans that "the money will be spent".
