  1. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 11, 2009 -> 02:59 PM) Them vs. Yankees is gonna be a GREAT series. Hope your right. NOT AS GREAT A SERIES AS A YANKEES/RED SOX ALCS, THOUGH.
  2. QUOTE (The Critic @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 08:49 PM) I actually never did the Columbia House thing, but my brother did, and yeah, it's a long-term commitment. They just never had enough current music that I liked, and would have to buy eventually, to justify grabbing some back catalog for a penny. But I do remember the first three albums (YES, albums, you whippersnappers) I bought with my own money. Kiss Alive Van Halen debut album Cheap Trick At Budokan (import double-album....at Sears....for 25 bucks in 1978!) Is that the one with the really famous version of I Want You To Want Me? The one with all of the Japanese girls singing every verse in the background and all?
  3. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 11:28 AM) Thanks for the catch and best of luck, but I don't ever want to see you in a Sox uni again. ^This. And I stuck by my word. I didn't say a single bad thing about him since The Catch.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Oct 7, 2009 -> 05:02 PM) I just finished watching Inglorious Basterds. I haven't been this disappointed from a movie in quite awhile. I know this discussion was had near the films theatrical release, but honestly, did anyone feel unsettled in numerous scenes because it just seemed to drag on for too long? It has become his trademark. A perfect example of this would be the scene where "Bear Jew" was inside the cave banging his bat, intimidating the Nazi soldier. It wasn't building suspense in my mind. I was just thinking, "get out of the f***ing cave already!" The entire tavern scene was excruciating to sit through, as well. And yes, because I can anticipate the replies, I knew the trailers misguided the public into believing it was an action flick revolving around Pitt's character. I had already known much of what happened, I just have to admit, it didn't live up to the standards I hold for Tarantino. I didn't really think much of the dialogue, or the characters (aside from the woman who owned the theater), and I certaintly didn't care for the action or suspense. I can't knock everyone's appreciation for this movie. There are probably countless fans (many on this board) who can articulate their appreciation for the movie. Fine. But what I feel is too many Quentin Tarantino fan-boys are praising this movie because he's involved. It' reminds me of the Boondock Saints fan base, where honoring the movie has become a cult all in itself. Nobody cares, Flash. We all hate you.

  6. EDIT: Damn, I can't believe this thread is still going.
  7. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Oct 6, 2009 -> 08:50 PM) by the way, it's 40 degrees and drizzling in minneapolis right now. Lets see how they play in that s*** come october 2010. That plan for us is that that scenario doesn't happen.
  8. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Oct 6, 2009 -> 08:46 PM) Thats a shame. The wrong team won. The team that couldn't close out a terrible division or hold a lead in their play-in game? No, the right team won.
  9. Congratulations, Twins...and you're welcome.
  10. As much as I hate Nick Punto, I love Nick Punto.
  11. I'd bet money that Inge comes through.
  12. QUOTE (kev211 @ Oct 6, 2009 -> 08:15 PM) I love when the twins play OUR song Which song is that?
  13. Was that the White Sox on the field for the last out?
  14. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Oct 6, 2009 -> 06:27 PM) Is being Mario really getting hazed? Mario's pretty cool. Is being a girl with enormous knockers really getting hazed? Girls with enormous knockers are pretty cool.
  15. What does the breakdown seem to be? Mostly cheering for the Tigers or Twins? I'm for Minnesota.
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 6, 2009 -> 01:07 AM) Not that there was ever any doubt. But the starting rotation is officially set. How many teams can say that at this point? How many teams can say their rotation is already set with such quality starters especially?
  17. Since Joe Mauer deserves it, Justin Morneau should win it. You know, historical precedent and all.
  18. QUOTE (longshot7 @ Oct 5, 2009 -> 01:58 PM) What about I Know Who Killed Me? Oh, great catch. That movie would have been hilariously bad if it weren't so excruciating to sit through.
  19. The final game was pretty perfect when you think about it. The Sox had a chance to win a game with some playoff meaning, and we blew it. Story of the entire season.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 3, 2009 -> 03:37 PM) This sure isn't helping this American's feeling about the rest of the world right now either. It isn't worth being the world's sugar daddy just so someone will like us. Maybe they should put on a couple of their own olympics and then think about how much America helps teh rest of the world. Agreed.
  21. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Oct 2, 2009 -> 10:46 PM) Wow.. looks like quite a few of the Blue Jays players want Cito Gaston gone. What a s***ty clubhouse that must be. I'm pretty sure they forced the last guy out, too.
