  1. Yes, that is the most painful thing about the Sox in recent memory. They went from the most desirable position to poison. They could’ve had their choice of any available manager. They chose La Russa, and everything changed in short order.
  2. Ever read a thread and have no clue what is going on? That’s me right now.
  3. Oh man, my pessimism is about to show. Who cares? I’m sure they are going to suck as much as everyone else from this organization. Shake it all up. Trade absolutely anyone. At this point, do things and make moves just for the sake of it. This franchise is woefully inept and has almost nothing going for it. Throw s%*# at that wall and see what happens until they get someone in charge of the whole organization that can start from scratch.
  4. I was very loud about my desire to get rid of Ozzie years ago, but his opinion on some dead commie doesn’t matter to me. Everyone has stupid opinions. There are obviously better options out there (though if they’d want the job is a whole other story), but Ozzie for the remainder of the season wouldn’t hurt. See what you got. Shake things up.
  5. Probably because he isn’t winning batting titles.
  6. I feel like you guys are falling into the same trap with Burger as people did with Vaughn, Cease, etc. He’s probably gonna suck next year and this is just his flash that we get for a season (or two).
  7. I feel like a lot of this is just filling the open air, which they’re supposed to do haha. It’s like small talk. Without it, it’s like the back-up announcer in Major League. Flyball…caught.
  8. Not gonna lie, it’s weird to see you so negative. A few years really changes things.
  9. Getting off topic, but what has Robert really done to be compared with what Abreu did on the Sox?
  10. People probably remember my stance on Ozzie back in the day. Even I agree with this statement.
  11. Also @Kyyle23 and @juddling were born, among some other greats.
  12. Per Wikipedia: The "Olympic Rings" or platinum sombrero applies to a player striking out five times in a game.[4] A horn refers to a player striking out six times in a game; the term was coined by pitcher Mike Flanaganafter teammate Sam Horn of the Baltimore Oriolesaccomplished the feat in an extra-inning game in 1991.[5][6] Alternate names for this accomplishment are titanium sombrero or double platinum sombrero.[7]
  13. Completely unrelated to the game, but I definitely walked past Justin Verlander on Michigan Ave. today.
  14. And Superstar Billy Graham.
  15. I meant more in terms that they’re winning when I’m not watching. But again, I think the nightmare scenario is the Sox winning the division with an approximately .500 record, getting trounced in the first round, but then using the division title to keep the same leadership in place for the next ten years.
  16. If that’s coming back, then that’s great. Right now I have the Tulin power that only pushes you forward. It’s nice, but not what I prefer haha.
  17. I know he’s not lighting up the world, but it seems like everyone dislikes Sheets. For being used pretty sporadically and in at different positions, he still seems to me like one of our better hitters.
  18. I really really miss the updraft power from the last game. I used that all the time.
  19. Yeah, I’m having a hell of a time figuring out when to use the new powers (especially the climb one). I’ll screw around trying to figure out how to get something done, then realize how simple it is. I’m just not used to the powers yet. Like I literally just forget that I have them.
  20. I’ve started watching the last two games only to turn them off in favor of the new Zelda. Maybe I should keep doing that.
  21. Either of you play it yet? I’m liking it, but not as much as I was hoping. It’s still too early in the game to say because I’m probably only around 1% through it, but I’m wondering if I built it up too much waiting all those years for it to come out.
  22. My man, reading your posts makes me feel like I never left. You go off on some crazy ass tangents. Never change.
  23. I find myself in a very odd place. I gave up watching baseball almost entirely for years (I’d watch the later postseason games occasionally). This season I’ve had more time schedule-wise to watch games and I’ve had the urge to watch games. I have absolutely no faith in the team to do well and I don’t really even care how they perform, but I’m just happy to watch baseball again. Well, kind of half-watch and play on my phone or do household chores. Honestly, they’ve been so bad as to be entertaining to me.
  24. On closer inspection, these are loafers.
