There's no way the Braves are trading Smoltz, I really don't see that happening. If we're going to get help in the bullpen we should focus on a guy for middle relief innings. The back of our bullpen is pretty damn good right now, you can't get much better than Shingo and Marte. I wouldn't mind seeing a deal like this: Ordoñez, Rauch, Ryan Sweeney (I know how much potential he has, but we really need another starter.) for Ortiz Andruw Jones Middle Reliever (Gryboski?) As for J.D. Drew, we don't need another outfielder on our D/L. It's only a matter of time before it happends. If we can walk away with Andruw Jones, Russ Ortiz and another arm for the pen Kenny did a hell of a job. CWSOX45

I can't vote, I think it's too early to tell. Considering the fact that this team has yet to get on a roll. I don't know how we are 4 games above .500, and only 2 games out of first place. 1. Acquire a starter. We need Garcia BADLY. If we can't get Garcia than go for Livan Hernandez, Benson, and if we are desperate Glendon Rusch, maybe even Ryan Dempster? 2. A reliable reliever. Ugueth Urbina comes to mind, if not him than perhaps another reliever, I'm not sure who Kenny has in mind, but I'm sure there are plenty of good ones out there. 3. Steve Finley. I know others want him badly too. If we are going to acquire an outfielder it should be him and only him. He'd fit in perfect with the Sox line-up, and would be a great influence in the clubhouse. I seriously think he's on the trading block. Where the hell has he been? I mean it's cool to give Timo some starts, but he's been swinging the bat pretty well lately. Even though Smoltz isn't an option I still think there are a couple of guys we could get out there. One in my mind is Ugueth Urbina with Detroit, at the trading deadline I'm sure we could get him for two minor leaguers if not one. I don't buy that trading in the division bulls*** either, we need a closer he'd probably come cheaply. Or there is always Jose Mesa, even though he choked in the 97 series with Cleveland. Here's another question, is Byun-Hun Kim still in the minors? If he is he obviously could be obtained for little value. He could be a starter or help solidify our pen. (Kim is in the minors right?)
