Roster Moves
Its a win-win situation with Borchard. Our only chance to get something for him is to play him and see if we can get his value up. If not, we are going to lose him for nothing or next to nothing anyway. I am estatic to see that Baj got the call over Adkins, like he should have a month ago. I also am looking forward to seeing more of the Brian Anderson show.

Petition to Keep John Rooney
QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 09:57 AM) Dave Wills has a job, and is under contract. Wills could ask out of the contract if he were approached by someone. Also the Score could offer to buyout out his contract too.

I think I just went the longest ever for me without any TV or internet at all, 4 days. I feel completely disconnected from the world? The only things I heard were the White Sox games on the radio.

Hurricane Katrina
QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 08:44 AM) Thanks Jim. We just spent this weekend moving into the new place, and spending butt-loads of money to get it baby ready and safe. It was a strange feeling, I should have felt estatic for our first home and a baby on the way, but mostly I felt guilty for buying half of the stuff that we did. We can't give anything worth while, but hopefully this will connect someone who can.

Ross Gload comments
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 05:16 PM) You would know more about Baj than I do, but would he have been able to go 3 innings in mop-up duty without risking his arm like Adkins was able to do? Baj was routinely giving Charlotte multi-inning stints to try to get saves. I have no doubt he could have been stretched 15-20 more pitches into the 50-60 pitch range, or about once through a line up, in order to bridge from a failed starter, like Adkins was used for.

Deion wants all pros to donate $1K to Katrina aid
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) So, since TO is having such a tough time feeding his family, I'm going to assume he won't donate. Yeah, Latrell Spreewell will have to get back to us as well.

Ross Gload comments
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) I don't mean this disrespectfully to anyone on this board or the players themselves.....but sometimes, it seems like people think if we had Gload and Baj on the roster the whole year, we'd be undefeated. I am probably Baj's biggest fan, but he didn't deserve to be up here over anyone we kept out of spring training. But as a mop up pitcher, he deserved a shot when Adkins got called up. Now it is September, and he is going to get another chance, and that is fine with me.

Hurricane Katrina
Its official, I hate politicians. I don't give a crap about the speeches. The mayor, the governor, the President, Senators, and Representatives all stood up there and talked. STFU, grab a shovel and fill sandbags, or go to a distribution point and hand out food and water.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 12:14 PM) The US is releasing 30 million barrels of crude from the reserves, and the IEA is releasing 60 million barrels of crude and gasoline over the next month. Energy prices came way down today. I edited this, I had incomplete info.
