  1. Many years ago, I worked with a guy that had some business with Michael Reinsdorf. At least back then, he was talking about running the Sox a bit differently than his father. It's been years since I've been privy to any info, but I still think he wants a shot, but wouldn't be surprised if he uses his father's blueprint,
  2. I get your point, but this is a guy who has always had issues with his command. Came back from injury, worse command, which is understandable, but from what most have been saying, diminished stuff. It's fine to trade for a guy like this, but to give up a guy who was really popular in the clubhouse, and with fans, and could hit 40 homers?
  3. 71 IP in 2021 0 IP in 2022 56 IP in 2023 And the spin is he's close to being a starter on the MLB club? LMAO. I wish I was capable of just walking away from all of this until they decide to be major league. But I can't.
  4. The Bulls have been Reinsdorfed. Remember several years ago when broke JR almost bought the AZ team in the NHL? As bad as it’s been with them, they dodged a bullet there.
  5. JRs sons are trying to buy up shares of the team. JR wrote a letter to his investors telling them if they are interested in selling, maybe, possibly, sell to them.
  6. Funny, I was eating at a restaurant last week and there were 2 guys sitting next to me. One was a trainer of some sort with the Cubs and he was talking about this job. For those who think I’m some freak who listens to other’s conversations, it was one of those communal tables and you couldn’t help but hear when we had our faces stuffed with food and weren’t talking.
  7. It's magnified by the fact there is another team in town that goes all out for theirs. And it's covered by everyone, who then also mentions the Sox, just like during the regular season, have nothing for their fans.
  8. I always enjoyed Soxfest and I never got 1 autograph. I went to the seminars, and while there was a ton of fluff, it's just was you needed after almost 4 months of no baseball.
  9. And the other 2 were so great at it they were fired. Getz will have to work his first deadline someime. If a change was warranted, and obviously it was, you can't let those dopes do more damage. JR fired them. You almost have to try to be incompetent enough for that to happen.
  10. I feel so bad for them. I hate spending money watching a team with no clue. That hasn't stopped them from continuing to do it.
  11. Especially because he was going to stay in house, it's really beyond ridiculous JR gave Rick and Kenny the deadline. It should have been Getz making the calls. Just more idiocy.
  12. the MLBTR write up on Eder today wasn't exactly promising.
  13. And seems like he'd be a back up you could actually believe can not lose you a game. What is the deal with Foreman? Every time here plays he looks good. Is he a bad actor or something? How was he a healthy inactive so often?
  14. JR was just stating the obvious. Besides, Ohtani would never consider the White Sox anyway. He’s already ruled out the Cubs because it’s too cold.
  15. Yeah, that’s why Dave Wilder failed. JR sucks no doubt, but Dave Wilder committed felonies and ripped him off. Anything he says is a joke.
  16. 0.2 combined fWAR his 2 years in Philadelphia for $40 million doesn’t scream the Sox missed one.
  17. The last 2 months of the season, Whit barely hit .200 with a .250 OBP. Other than he looks good in Royal blue, there is no reason to sign him. 34 years old., when has he helped a team win.?

1 over .500 season when fans could attend games. A horrible GM.

He also played a big role in the Pedro Grifol hire, and his refusal to fire him despite what’s plain to see, is an indication he will allow his mistakes, something all GMs make, to linger and hurt the team moving forward.
  20. Dick Allen replied to oldsox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It was pretty much known to everyone with any inside info that if Rick or KW were to somehow be bad enough to be let go, Getz was the replacement. If they weren’t let go, I don’t think there is another team that would have seriously considered him for their GM job. Now all that doesn’t mean he will be bad, and he is all we have, so we have to hope he is better than what the consensus thinks. We were told the main reason he got the job was time. JR didn’t want to waste any bringing in someone else, Flimsy at best. Gets has already said on numerous occasions, he had to do a “deep dive”. And has seemingly walked back thoughts this team could actually contend next year, realizing the fan base isn’t THAT dumb. I am not optimistic, but hope this guy surprises me. I just think JR will still have too much influence, and it will be more of the same.
  21. Maybe their scandal has something to do with it, but the Astros have made the ALCS 7 years in a row. That’s amazing.
  22. One of those on line injury doctors thinks this is at least a 4 to 6 week injury to Fields.
  23. Fields dislocated his thumb.
  24. If they pick up his option, it would be more proof JR crying poor all their years was BS. No one loves all that Liam brings to the table more than me, but give him the buyout and do something that makes sense for a couple of years.
  25. This is exactly right. 8 years in a row the Royals haven't been above .500. And that's with this guy in his prime years. Merrifeild in his prime years and Benintendi as well. If this stuff is true, MLB needs to step in.
