  1. Not what you want to see.
  2. IMO JR was at least an average owner his first 30 or so years. Had some division winners, a WS, some interesting teams. But the last 10 or 12, he has really been hard to be worse. And if you think about it, he's been worse with the Bulls. Unlike Sox fans, Bulls fans have acted like Cubs fans and still showed up after they got horrible, which is really something, because before Jordan, the Bulls had to be really good to draw. Yet, despite all the money he made being awful, he wouldn't go over the luxury tax, just a big middle finger to all those paying hundreds to attend Bulls games.
  3. I think JR soon either gives up control or announces Ishbia will be the next guy down the road a bit. He keeps his shares until he dies. The team instantly becomes more valuable because JR isn’t or won’t be in charge. This will probably increase new stadium chances and at the very least increases the value of JRs shares.
  4. Unfortunately, that didn't get cut.
  5. He also cut the price of hot dogs, soda and popcorn to $2 with the Suns, so if you take your kid to the game and they get hungry, you don't need your banker to tag along.
  6. This move to make Ishbia the heir to the throne, kills 2 birds with one stone. It sets JR up with a filfty rich buyer, and it keeps him away from a division rival. He buys the Twins and starts spending and winning right away, the White Sox look even worse.
  7. That I don't know, although in the story in the Tribune about 10 years ago, they said JR's executor got the control.
  8. They don't replace anyone on the board. Once they die, the count goes down. I think they have another 98 year old as well.
  9. Ishbia, Colson hopefully making Keith Law look like a hack. I’m excited to see how the other Montgomery plays. Hope some of the young pitching takes the next step, and hope for minimal injuries. If players are going to be hurt, hopefully it’s not the young guys who need to play to get better.
  10. He can own 99.9% but can’t get control unless Reinsdorf gives it to him. JR has been the king since 1981. I’m sure he has run things by his partners, but ultimately all decisions have been his.
  11. you wouldn't really think it, but you have to think it. They are going to suck, but I'm not putting anything into these February games. No one is where they are supposed to be yet.
  12. And a little luck with pitchers health.
  13. The easy solution is JR keep his shares until he dies but relinquishes control.
  14. It would make no sense to stop pursuing something where he would be king, to be a silent partner now. And the Reinsdorfs talked him into it. There has to be some assurances.
  15. More shock…Madrigal separated his shoulder.
  16. To me he is a chooch, but at least he, or someone he has to listen to, realizes something has to change.
  17. There must have been a lot of investors telling JR it’s time He’s gone from telling us his son will be forced to sell to out of towners because he owes the investors the best deal,, and that is not in this area, to this. LOL.
  18. He will probably have him over for a caps and stems, bumps and bats party celebrating his windfall.
  19. They deleted the diluted word from the original article. They aren’t creating new shares, just offering that amount for anyone who wants out.
  20. Most at this point, inherited their shares, and would rather just have the money. Part owner of the White Sox doesn’t have the same cache it had 20 years ago.
  21. As long as JR is around, he is going to have control. But why would you give up a bid to be the majority owner of an MLB team and have full control for anon conrrolling interest in another? He must have assurances he next up. Now, will JR sell why he's alive? I wouldn't think so unless there is someway he can offset his capital gains with capital losses. Maybe that 1901 project helps him there.
  22. I can admit I have no plumbing talent. In fact, I hate things like replacing water heaters and roofs. Hate clearing snow, hate cutting grass. So wr live in a condo and have all that stuff done for us.
  23. Yankees are going to allow well-groomed beards.
  24. Someone better give him a wellness check.
  25. 2 dead giveaways how bad this signing is. WestEddy would endorse Bozo the Clown at SS if Getz signed him. He's stayed away. And TaylorStreet, the guy who hasn't left his mom's basement since Jose Valentin was playing SS, endorses it fully. It has to be terrible.
