  1. Except for 1 game in his career, Zabala is a .140 hitter and the guy behind Mr is bitching Collins hit for him.
  2. Need to get him back for the bitching. Why did they let McCann Walk? His contract is an albatross and all the rest.
  3. The bullpen sucks, Gio had nothing, the catcher has no idea how to call a game, and the Sox have no cluch hitters. This thread is OVA.
  4. Both closers were lit up. Very Unfortunate. I don’t understand Zavala pinch hitting unless Leury and Engel couldn’t play at all. Goodwin vs.a lefty multiple times in key situations was odd. The first time, bring Vaughn in for him would have meant Vaughn vs. a lefty with men on. Still, it was an entertaining game, and they still had a shot at the end.
  5. I just think it’s really hard to take much away from a QB performance in a preseason game with teams playing vanilla defenses, and many of the guys defending not being regulars, and/or being out of the NFL when games count. That said, Fields did look good.He had a rocky stretch for a little bit but turned it around.
  6. I am pretty sure Jim Miller can't say Bears. He must say Chicago Bears.
  7. Probably every pitcher has had soreness by this point. A panicked start may be exactly what they wanted to give Lopez. Give him no time to think about it. One thing I was reading about Lopez is that it took him a while to adapt to the changes they made with him, and he is all good now. Hopefully it worked, because he looks really good.
  8. That game is already paying off for the Sox. Tonight's gane is sold our and iis $75 a piece on Stubhub for the say you were there seats, where you can't actually see much of the game.
  9. Hate to bring up bad memories but TA and FTJ on the same team would have been insane.
  10. It could be they just decided to shut him down and the MRI was for show. You aren't supposed to put uninjured players on the IL. Billy Hamilton is another who probably is healthy enough to play, but they get their money's worth just having him around.
  11. Looks like the MRI was clean. Boras says Rodon is healthy and the Sox are doing a wonderful job trying to keep him healthy for October.
  12. I agree. IMO, it's Rodon, and it's not particularly close. He was hoping to be the 5th starter. He pitched like a Cy Young award winner.
  13. It was padding but instead of green it was a wood like color.
  14. The 2008 team had to win a bunch of games at the end, and the Black Out Game. They were in no position to set a playoff rotation.
  15. 82 ks vs. 6 BB. Yeah, what a gas can. He's given up a lot of HR, but IMO, it's a bit flukey.
  16. What's funny is everyone now wants Kimbrel to close. The same guy they were questioning after his first outing with the team. Hendriks is pretty awesome. Of course if the White Sox front office listened to Soxtalk, Heuer or some injured guy would be the closer, Garrett Richards would be pitching in Rodon's spot and Jason Heyward would be in RF, which would have prevented them from taking on any money at the deadlne.
  17. Hendriks struck out the side so his stuff was fine. I say rust played a factor.
  18. I guess Ross let it out of the bag that the Cubs will be in it next year.
  19. There is definitely a benefit, but to a certain point. The thing is, as soon as most of the better players start getting 30 games a year off for "rest" people who pay a lot of money to watch and broadcast these games, are going to get pissed. It got so bad in the NBA,, they had to set up protocols. And exactly what are they protecting? Players are getting hurt way more than ever.
  20. It's the same thing in basketball. Thibs supposedly kills players, yet Phil Jackson and Pop played guys 40 minutes a night, and that was when the game was way more physical, and they are geniuses.
  21. The last time the Sox were a threat to make the playoffs was 2012. That team ran out of gas. With the 60 game season last year, this one can as well, it’s an unknown. It is far better the Sox have to play an extra game on the road in the playoffs and be anywhere near full strength, than have an extra home game and be out of gas.
  22. Another thing to keep in mind about Patrick Williams is he is still a teenager for a couple more weeks.
  23. LaTroy Hawkins, when he played for the Cubs, lived in a highrise where Clark and LaSalle come together. My friend lived in the building at the time. LaTroy rented out 2 apartments. One was solely for his shoes.
  24. I've lost the connection a few times even though I have no problem with my wifi. I wonder if that has anything to do with the count.
