  1. MY favorite teams this year are whoever plays the cubs and the White Sox Losses to Pirates, Cardinals and Brewers are fine.
  2. The final year before he becomes a free agent he'll get his act together.
  3. It will be interesting when that day comes.
  4. I think Rodon, Anderson and Fulmer will all rushed to the big leagues to try and win with Sale and Quintana.
  5. Imagine if Casey Mize was part of this organization a month from now....that is the silver lining. #1 pick in 2019
  6. Both the Trib and Sun Times websites are terrible. The Sun Times has turned into a tabloid in my mind.

My guess is that she is kind of going through a mid-life adjustment and this takes her back to younger days and he is focal point of that time in her life. I think most folks do go through this the difference is how invested is she. When I reconnect wiht people from high school or college it takes you back in time to a different life and it is not necessarily that you want that person currently but they bring back waves of positive emotion. In your case Rock, what were you thoughts on your BIL's wife prior to the new friend. I have the same type of feelings for some relatives that I find to be full of shit but have felt that way since day one.
  8. I hear more about Gary Sanchez than I do Mike Trout.
  9. Robert Jimenez and Adolofo will always have injury concerns to me. Great news on Hansen.
  10. Browns should trade out of #1 if they are not taking a QB there.
  11. I don't trust this front office. While the trade for Sale, Quintana and Eaton seems to have been benefical the fact that the organizational leaders are the same that invested high draft picks in Fulmer, Collins, Hawkins, etc. They have not developed a hitter in years. Look at the current outfield. Has the development staff from a hitting side been upgraded, potentially but the top of the organization has shown no ability to be able to build and organization. They used to be good at cobbling teams together from time to time but whatever happened when Williams took over, way back when, all player development went down the drain.
  12. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 17, 2018 -> 09:26 AM) On Zavala's defense, from what I've seen I'd put him ahead of Collins but not by much. In my viewings, in person and on MiLB TV, and talking with scouts, Zavala has a quick release and an average arm, and moves athletically from the position on defense. Handles pitchers well. But the sore spot for him was pitch blocking, which he has struggled with. He, like Collins, is bat-first still. But there's reason to believe the blocking can improve with time for Zavala. If it does and he can be MLB average at that, then he's an average overall defender there and that works just fine. Of all of things I think that would be easiest to correct it is blocking pitches.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 09:53 PM) Sox outfield defense rates horribly so far on defensive fWAR Don't get much worse then delmonico and avi out there.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 10:16 AM) The Sox have passed on pitchers before because of their arm action and surgery risks. Was Lucas Giolioto one of them?
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 02:38 PM) All of a sudden, Shields has a Reynaldo Lopez looking pitching line. Lopez WHIP is 0.85 for the season Shields for this game is 1.95
  16. QUOTE (Scoots @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 02:20 PM) It's a head game right now. And the Sox are losing at it. It's a talent game. This team has zero pressure to do anything.
  17. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 10:36 AM) He'll have 54 pitches through 5. I'm not sure what to make of this mess right now. The lack of adding any starting pitching depth is troubling I know they are not going to win often but this rotation can't be helpful to a team.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 12:28 PM) Crazy that basically 2 games separate the 3rd seed from the potential 9 seed in the west. That damn winning streak and made free throw a couple of weeks back.
  19. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 10:11 AM) Looks like it. In his other start, they limited him to 54 pitches. If we get deep into counts and stay patient, he could be gone in the 3rd. He'll have 54 pitches through 5.
  20. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 12:21 PM) Views are great and the food is wonderful. What's there not to big on? No bathroom line either. Absolute steal for opening day. Was $20 more than outfield reserve.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 11:19 AM) 670 The Score?Verified account @670TheScore 10m10 minutes ago #Cubs' home opener against Pirates today postponed, will be made up Tuesday at 1:20 p.m. https://bit.ly/2ExmUqE Snowing heavily at the ball park all morning.
  22. Well I got screwed last opening day by weather 100x better than today.
  23. So shields is starting the home opener...Danks two years ago was horrific.
  24. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 05:36 PM) But Saladino and Anderson "advance the runner?" Yes, Anderson is a career 7-9 hitter and Saladino is terrible.
