I'm old so I don't watch ESPN or MTV. I watch AMC, History and Discovery. I am not quite old enough to watch Fox News or CNN unless there is a breaking something. Maybe my head is a little in the sand but I like it there and have enough to worry about getting through the day and trying to find Charlie Tilson.

9.13 Game thread, vs KC 1:15 CST first pitch

So if Shields mentoring gets Giolito into the HOF and Tatis gets into the Hall of Fame it's a wash in my book...now...where the hell is Charlie Tilson. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 13, 2017 -> 02:12 PM) I thought Adam would struggle making team next year with more guys getting close for time, but I realized he really only has Leury and May competing for CF, so he probably has our 4th outfield locked down. While Tilson may no longer exist in the realm of the White Sox he may still be in the team photo. -
Does he go through the posting process? If so, Don't teams have to bid on him and the $300K/$10M is not the issue but who gives the most money to this controlling team to win the bid similar to Tanaka. Can it have been written in a contract somewhere that he splits that fee 50/50? Can this fee be $100M?

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Sep 13, 2017 -> 11:37 AM) Is that also covering his 2 remaining arb years? Yes -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 13, 2017 -> 11:09 AM) I could see Abreu taking a modest 3/4 year deal to stay. Maybe a 3/45 works? 5 years $75M is what I think he asks for paid as follows $20M $20M $15M $10M $10M -
QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Sep 13, 2017 -> 10:34 AM) 20 in a row for the Indians. Amazing. Yet, all I care about is their inability to win 1 in a row last fall. If they were healthy that series would have been over in five games instead of Theo being the best baseball mind since Abner Doubleday.

I use google maps especially for rush hour traffic as it is pretty precise on ETA. The side street directions make it interesting at times. Choosing local or express lanes on the Ryan is awesome. Waze is better for the police notifications and things like that. Both are incredible apps.

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 12, 2017 -> 03:35 PM) That's pretty much what happened to East when North closed, right? Yes -

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 12, 2017 -> 02:11 PM) I think Lincoln Way East is the best team in the South Suburbs. They are the best team in the state. When LWW closes in the next couple of years LWC will be just as good. -
Wonder if the injury is affecting Davidson. he and Anderson need to improve their OBP.

Can Rodon become a quality mlb starter?
Harry Chappas replied to Dominikk85's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Tony @ Sep 12, 2017 -> 02:32 PM) @CSNHayes 54s Correction: Carlos Rodon had a second opinion done Monday. Nothing new was discovered. He remains out w/ inflammation. #WhiteSox This just feels like they know something is wrong, but can't figure it out. Probably but the optimist also tells me they are being overly cautious for no other reason then they can. -
Seems like the corpseball and tipping of the cap has been much less frequent this year as well especially for the unknown pitcher that has no business being in the MLB.

I'm in Michigan for family vacation the week of that west coast trip...that's some nice late night entertainment

Looks pretty balanced throughout only one long road trip Milwaukee at home sucks but at Pittsburgh and St Louis

I thought this from time to time. If everyone had career years I think they go 85-77 make a wild card, lose to the Yankees or Indians/Houston/Boston but never really threaten to be better than this over time.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 11, 2017 -> 08:31 AM) No. It was a tad rhetorical.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 10, 2017 -> 04:13 PM) They'll walk away scot free and laughing. Did Martha Stewart spend more time in prison than all of the financial scheme crooks from the last ten or fifteen years combined?

QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 10, 2017 -> 04:20 PM) Sweep! Brewers two back with 19 left. (Divisions in baseball still suck) So are the cardinals

I really hope Brewers are away and on a weekend.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 8, 2017 -> 08:40 AM) The good news is I can buy your social security number in just over a year and still be you. Because it's good that a company can screw over the entire country in exchange for a year of credit protection. They should be required to do it for life for everyone, but they won't be. The thing is why would I trust their credit protection?

Lady that works for me drove to her dentist in loop for one hour parking was $38. I hate paying for parking.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 6, 2017 -> 10:46 AM) Jose Valentin made errors, but advanced defensive metrics loved him. Everyone loved Jose.

Back at he Hilton where it belongs. I may have to go to meet Eloy and hopefully Britt Burns.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 6, 2017 -> 10:12 AM) Tim Anderson has put up a .723 OPS in the 2nd half of the season and is coming off a really strong 6 weeks. He also had a cup of coffee last year where he put up a near 3 WAR in In this day and age of OBP Anderson will always have that glaring weakness along with his Jose Valentin defense. I don't think you kick him to the curb but there are certainly issues to address. Garcia can't seem to stay healthy either so that doesn't help.
