Reynaldo getting the call and the ball on Friday
Harry Chappas replied to Rowand44's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 12:20 PM) A waiver deal with the Mariners would make sense. The Mariners rotation currently is rocking an xFIP over 5, yikes. They just lost their only good starter, Paxton, for 3-4 weeks with a pectoral strain. Would Migo clear waivers? Problem is I don't think he would. possibly would be he's basically replacement level. Can't hurt to try and see if they can grab another lotto ticket for one of them. He doesn't need to clear I think he only needs to make it to Seattle to claim him. Send Seattle all three of Shields, Holland and Gonzo for a couple of lower level guys or AAA fillers to get through the season. -

QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 12:08 PM) Trivia: Q: Who was the last person to wear #16 as a member of the White Sox before the team retired it for Ted Lyons? A: He still thinks they retired it for him. -
QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Aug 10, 2017 -> 10:54 PM) Leury and Yoan could be a great White Sox DP combo for many years to come if given the chance. This has got to be a thought process for next year. Anderson has no pitch recognition ability never has had it at any level.

Coop will fix him.....if he needs fixing

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Aug 9, 2017 -> 11:50 AM) In his chat today Dave Cameron said that if the Yankees make the wildcard game they should start Chapman and have the bullpen pitch the whole game and save Severino for Game 1 of the ALDS. I'd love to see that happen. Buck Showalter thinks that is a dumb idea.

In 1575 plate appearances in the minors he had 68 walks. I have nothing more to add about the current mindset of Tim Anderson but his inability to draw a walk is not new. Why he is batting anywhere other than 7-9 in the order is beyond me.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 02:55 PM) Rosen's thoughts here were taken completely out of context. People need to read the entire article of what he said. I thought the exact same thing. Alabama though is handing out money left and right to smart kids from the north. Not sure where the money it is coming from exactly but there is an academic pipeline from Chicago to Tuscaloosa. -
QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 11:34 AM) That's the type of timeline you give a pitcher drafted out of high school, not a college pitcher who went 3rd overall. 22 year old Carlos Rodon in low A ball would be a joke. He would be lights out. Yet there is Hansen. I know they are different situations but not that vastly different that they can't be compared.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 09:00 AM) I can't believe people think he has already reached his peak in the worst year of his life. I don't think he was prepared for the majors and should probably still be in the minors but I also felt that Rodon should have not come up until this year as well. I really hope things in this organization have changed other trading MLB talent for MiLB talent. If not it's going to be a long decade.

Beer under slot and spread the money to later.

They miss Nats top three guys, if Nats Dodgers or Indians were close to healthy last year this rebuild is still a work in process.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 4, 2017 -> 09:51 PM) Just think of Renteria as the kindergarten teacher preparing the kids for elementary school. He's here to develop the young players, end of story. When it's time to compete, who knows if the Sox pull a Cubs and bring in the higher profile manager. Why would they do that now and not the last few times they hired a manager

Reinsdorf Needed Convincing to Trade with Cubs
Harry Chappas replied to GGajewski18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Jul 27, 2017 -> 10:35 AM) That's not getting booted. JR et al went elsewhere. CBS had a one time opportunity to move the Cubs to the Score and they did. CBS would rather have had both. I didn't say they were booted but I would speculate that the Sox would be moved to WBBM and the Cubs would move the SCORE or some hybrid of the SCORE covering both and WBBM taking the conflicts/Sox like CSN+ -
Reinsdorf Needed Convincing to Trade with Cubs
Harry Chappas replied to GGajewski18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jul 27, 2017 -> 10:03 AM) The Sox didn't get booted out by the Cubs. WSCR bid on the radio rights for the Sox, they just chose another station, which opened up the opportunity for the Cubs to fill the void. This all happened before the Cubs won the WS. The cubs were on the SCORE's sister station in 2015. There was no way they were going to stay there while the SOX stayed on the SCORE. Both Reinsdorf controlled teams are on the same station which no baseball or basketball fan under the age 60 listens to other than for the game. -
Dan Jennings Traded to TB for Casey Gillaspie
Harry Chappas replied to GGajewski18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 27, 2017 -> 10:20 AM) If this guy turns into a decent player, no. Jennings has 2 years of arb left, and won't be too expensive, but he serves no purpose if they aren't trying to win. He probably won't be worth more than he is now. Next year they will probably suck worse than this, but they have to be careful because several of the better prospects will probably be on the team, and you don't want to bury them and their confidence. That is something I think about and wonder if it is real. -

QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 10:06 AM) I am in the midst of the CPA. The hardest test to study for actually. It's awful. Pays huge dividends good luck!!! -
QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 08:07 AM) rabbit was great as he always has been. I think he has been on the Score a couple times and he was just as articulate and seamless in explaining as the long time guests that come on. I detest the SCORE flipped on to hear generalities about the trade. Hub gave his show lineup and I heard raBBit at 6:20 so I kept it on.

raBBit / Brian great job yesterday on the SCORE interview yesterday With Hub. Not sure how often you do that but it was a good listen. Giving props to my favorite prospect Hansen as well. Kudos!
