NLCS: Cubs vs. Dodgers
I need to beat this dead horse some more but granderson has no business in this lineup nor does utley what a terrible decision that likely cost them the game. The old lefties rightie splits.

NLCS: Cubs vs. Dodgers
Dodgers with the crappy vets in lineup was a poor decision

2017 Watercooler TV thread
I watched Halt and Catch Fire over the summer and this final season. Gotta say the show actually developed over the four years that it was on very well. It was the tech age version of Mad Men and stayed with the premise throughout.

ALCS: Yankees vs. Astros
Astros and cubs should have got in the running for White Sox bullpen.

Realignment/Expansion
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Oct 17, 2017 -> 09:17 AM) I'm 100% for expansion -- it drives new fan engagement and is a fascinating process to follow for fans of all teams. The draft would be fun, even though we'd lose players, and dilution of talent creates more opportunities for everyone while making stars even more valuable. Wins all around. However, the BA proposal is a little aggressive for me. Realignment is whatever, and I could probably get over the league-lessness although I think too many others couldn't -- but reducing the number of games (even though it's probably better for everyone involved) is too hard to swallow for me because it instantly ruins the record book. Everything will always be a pre-realignment or post-realignment record, and that is just annoying. Steroid numbers kind of ended that for me

Realignment/Expansion
I like it but I still think you need the National and American league.

NLDS: Cubs vs. Nationals
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 10:50 PM) Can anyone tell me why Happ came in on defense for Heyward? Happ didn't bat for Heyward prior to that change, right? As much as I was hoping Taylor hit a grand slam, just as satisfying would have been a 3-run triple because Happ screwed up a flyball that Heyward would have caught. Double switch when Davis went in to pitch, Happ went into RF. If Davis got out of it Happ hits in 8th and Davis can pitch the 9th.

2017-2018 NFL Thread
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 10:49 AM) With Jackson’s college injury history, have to say I’m not a fan of him returning kicks And the fact he looks like a keeper in the defensive secondary...just put a guy back there to catch the ball and go down.

NLDS: Cubs vs. Nationals
Sounded like none of this was Nats fault and all about Strasburg and his agent making certain Strasburg is number 1 priority. Then there is Max who will throw 100 pitches today if needed...although he already got paid.

NLDS: Cubs vs. Nationals
QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 09:11 AM) Will they even get this game in? Still raining here in northbrook. Going to stop around 1 they'll be fine.

NLDS: Cubs vs. Nationals
If Strasberg does not start he will not be boarding the plane home. Gio should be ready to go today as well. The handling of pitchers by that organization is an epic failure if they do not win this series. How many things are just handed to the cubs. This is almost as bad as Francona wasting Salazar in game 6 last year and not starting him in game 7 last year.

NLDS: Cubs vs. Nationals
The fact that the Boston game time, which started at noon yesterday was not announced until midnight (less than 12 hours prior to first pitch) shows you just how the networks run sports. That was absurd. No way in hell this is rained out.

NLDS: Cubs vs. Nationals
This whole series is predicated on the fact the Nationals offense has been abysmal. Trea Turner is terrible. If Wade Davis pitches the 8th and 9th of game 2, the series is over with the Nats scoring 3 runs in the series. I think the cub rout them today. Jake goes 5 and the bullpen ends it. If Strasberg leaves via free agency, the sad window of the Nats closes with very bland results.

ALDS: Yankees vs. Indians
The White Sox impact on these playoffs is something. They allowed the Yankees and cubs to have a shot.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 5, 2017 -> 12:18 PM) I keep wondering when I am going to see the mention of Cuba attacking our embassy? That really is not a story for some reason.

I would love to ditch the divisions with top three getting in and 4 and 5 play in game.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 03:05 PM) This year he was basically Matt Davidson who also took walks. I want to see some more of the hit tool. As an average fielding catcher that is an all-star caliber guy. If Davidson took walks he'd be in the team photo for the next six years.

TILSON IS ALIVE!
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 01:59 PM) f*** it, there's a series left, why even send him to AZ? Suit him up, dude's ready to play. He'd trip and fall going on the plane and collect MLB pay for the next 12 months rehabbing an ACL tear. He may be doing that already.

2018 MLB Draft
QUOTE (GenericUserName @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 08:42 AM) http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/2018-...yTJUTcBp41Ai.97 BA Hish School Top 50. Top 3 of Hankins, Turang, and Nolan Gorman. Kelenic checks in at #5. The Gorman ranking is interesting. I really like his bat, but I think most thought he couldn't stick at SS, so if he can I really like him. Other names of note: Triston Casas @ 14 Alek Thomas @ 20 Joe Gray Jr. @ 28 Thomas is a nice underslot in round 2 or 3. Then they can give his day a huge pay raise to make up for it.

2017-2018 NFL Thread
Shouldn't Ryan Pace be held accountable for giving Glennon $15M? I get that they now have Trubisky and Glennon is not a long term solution but when they signed him they must of felt he was at least a good QB. Complete misfire there by pace and his staff.
