QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Sep 19, 2013 -> 09:19 AM) Right, because incompetent workers in non-government jobs are UNHEARD OF They don't have pensions and are not nearly paid as well as their government counterpart.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 18, 2013 -> 12:13 AM) Just bought this, think others will be interested http://www.amazon.com/The-System-Scandal-B...l/dp/0385536615 Benedict was on the SCORE a few weeks back and it sounded like an amazing book. -
Vote Harrelson for the Ford C. Frick award
Harry Chappas replied to Balta1701's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I voted for Gary Thorne, tomorrow I will vote for Hawk. Bob Newhart never won an Emmy until this past year. I find that more tragic than Rush not being in the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame. -
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 18, 2013 -> 11:13 AM) John Danks goes for the Sox against Diamond I think. Any bets on how many home runs Danks gives up today? The game is on WGN at Noon MDT. I will be there rooting for the Sox behind the big screen. Why will you be behind and not in front of the big screen. Gorgeous day here in the big city, if not swamped at worked would love to head on out to the ole ballpark.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 17, 2013 -> 09:20 AM) That's a pretty big if. Sure which is why that trade looked so lopsided toward the cubs, I was one of the bigger dolts saying that the cubs ripped off the Padres because Rizzo was certain to be an all-star. I never thought Cashner would be and stay healthy. If he does, wow does that trade along with moving Archer look like moves that set the cub back further. I understand that Archer was a move that was made in the win now mode and Garza did help them out but it was a move that they are paying for now. Which would be very similar to the Hudson move had he not gotten hurt. Hudson and Sale would be a very formidable front end rotation for a rebuilding team as would Cashner and Archer. Oddly Cashner is pitching well and Hudson is struggling to get healthy. Finally, Daytona winning the A league title made the morning updates on the SCORE but I did not hear about the Barons title...

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 16, 2013 -> 08:55 PM) Andrew Cashner with the one - hit shutout Faced the minimum and threw 97 pitches. That trade and the eventual extension of rizzo, if Cashner stays healthy could look really bad for Theo.

Rick Hahn on The Score right now....

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 11, 2013 -> 09:51 PM) Micah Johnson is a G. Not to shabby for the worst farm system in baseball most of those years. Kind of goes to show how those rankings go. -
It made business sense when it was a sellout now that it is not the draw it once was, a weekend series would sellout, a weekday game is a nice crowd. I do not think the weekday business model of these games is a good thing while they both suck.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 12, 2013 -> 10:28 AM) What the hey? One game and now we are on the Beckham can't play kick again Not saying he can't play but maybe he is not the best defensive second baseman in baseball as the Hawkeroo will tell us. Although a good part of this is Beckham's ability to turn the double play at second.

QUOTE (juddling @ Sep 12, 2013 -> 07:17 AM) I think I'd go on a shooting spree too if my mom was banging Dave Navarro....... Watched SOA last night. I forgot all about Happy. While it was solid, I told my wife at some point they will not be an MC any longer as there are no new members. Still not certain what the Chibs beat down on Juice served and I assume the former US Marshall will eventually OD before causing any real damage.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 10, 2013 -> 10:44 PM) Did anyone hear Jamie Dukes on Mully & Hanley? He said that watching the Bears it looked exactly like Lovie was coaching and absolutely nothing was different. Then he insinuated not only was Lovie fired for a racist reason, but that is also the reason why he isn't employed. Today Laurence Holmes got into a little twitter war with him over it, he was sincerely pissed off about it. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/09/10/jam...nt-than-lovies/ I heard that and was astounded that M&H actually let him talk without questioning him. It was one of the worst pieces of coverage I had ever heard. I actually thought it was a caller that they just let ramble on. He was going on about all of the new players and how now they have all of these weapons. Never once did they ask him why Lovie was unable to get offensive minded people into the organization or grow any talent. The Bengals are a good team and would have beaten the Bears by 20 last year, yet there was Dukes talking about how much better the Philly win over Washington was what a f***ing moron.

Boardwalk on the DVR. After watching the Wire this summer just realized in the promo why I liked Omar In regard to Breaking Bad I guess the cell conversation and Walt giving away everything just goes to re-verify that Hank never thought Jessie would give him up. Why he never thought that, who knows but the frantic race to the money and then admitting everything to Jessie just seems odd and too neat. The only proof Hank had on Walt was the cell phone admission so I am assuming it was taped. The killing of Hank in the desert will further show that Walt while he thinks he is in control, was never really in control as killing Hank would ruin everything he was trying to do in the end game. My guess is the "war" is with the Nazis and Hank meets his maker.

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Sep 5, 2013 -> 12:03 PM) Avisail is unfortunately deep in the territory of "unsustainable performance" based on his Pitch F/x and component stats. Ugh, I really hope his approach improves -- those shank singles aren't going to keep finding places to fall forever. Frank Thomas says, bite me

Starting Saturday you have Hell on Wheels, Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad and Sons of Anarchy all new. Yep, that is good four of weeks there of television. Glad I am not using this thread to decide if I want to watch The League or Sunny. I watch AGT with the family. It has some cool stuff on it but people voting for s***ty singers really has killed the show for the entire family.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 29, 2013 -> 11:42 AM) Im quietly optimistic about Wisconsin this year. I think people are going to find out real quick about Gary Andersen. The old Steelers kicker? He was pretty good, small and doughy but pretty good. -
QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Aug 28, 2013 -> 04:46 PM) So, the concensus is that Hillary is unqualified to be president because "I wouldn't want to bone her." ? Margaret Thatcher was a real looker

I had an HTC for two years that I dropped plenty of times and it was fine, no case either. Bought a Samsung "Rugby" because it was supposed to be "tougher" than any other AT& T phone it fell about three feet and the screen shattered. Salesperson sold me on the idea that I did not need a case for it, bulls***.

I would love to see how he would do in the player development aspect of the organization

QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Aug 29, 2013 -> 12:16 AM) That's cool. Sometimes it amazes me the statistics people come up with. They showed the highlight of it earlier in the game. -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 28, 2013 -> 11:51 AM) There probably isn't a successful Division 1 coach who hasn't covered up some things. I'm not an Urban Meyer fan, but really, the thing that would make him unique is never covering things up. Ya but other than OJ's coach at USC most cover ups do not lead to the insanity that ensued when Hernandez was with the Pats. The pats are more at fault but Meyer is part of the enabling that resulted in a potential mass murderer.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 27, 2013 -> 03:44 PM) Bryant and Baez will almost definitely be in the majors by 2015. Personally, I'll be shocked if they don't trade a few of their guys to try and get a top-tiered MLB pitcher. I think McDaniel has Almora way too high and Baez way too low. Being in the majors and producing at a level that makes your team contenders are vastly different. The 2015 idea is with no learning curve for the younger players. They have no young pitching in the pipeline therefore they need to acquire it. Also minor league rankings are worthless.

There was conversation on the radio Sunday morning talking about the great cub rebuild and the consensus was that they are still four to five years away from contending.
