GT 8/2: You'll get nothing and like it

The most beneficial move for the Sox at the trade deadline was the Royals shipping out Merrifield. -
How fun will it be if Gallo hits a walk-off or some other important situational HR in a World Series game against the Yankees?
-
Better to get something back, even if it's a low-level minor leaguer?
-
The entire White Sox roster has 88HRs. Aaron Judge alone has almost half of that - 43 HRs.
-
JR is not going to like that kind of language coming from his GM. Maybe that will be what gets Hahn fired.

It was over when they hired TLR.

Do you think TLR will realize the opposing pitcher changed before the game starts? -

Just looked at the stats against Keller, and Leury is definitely playing today. He has some of the best numbers against Keller. And if you were really setting lineups based on stats against a particular pitcher, Jose Abreu is the guy that should get the night off. -
So Bruce Levine was on to something with Chafin, but just couldn't get the team Chafin was actually on correct.

And Singer and Bubic have looked pretty good over their last few outings (especially Singer), so yeah, need to get this first one tonight! -
The Sox come out on top with guys like this because the other teams don't offer much based on Gallo's actual value, but the Sox over-pay for questionable rentals. At least that's how it feels when the Sox make deals.
-
I don't claim to know anything about the guys they gave up, but it always seems like the Yankees, the Red Sox, the Dodgers, etc. pull off these types of trades for non-top prospects.

And they'll still finish ahead of the Sox because they went 18-1 against them. -

Low Energy Premature trade winds…Jazz Chisholm 2B/Marlins
PorkChopExpress replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think Jazz Chisholm would be an awesome fit for this team, and I'd love to see him here, but I would think the Marlins would be asking for Vaughn+. Any team that has a top-level player we want will probably be asking for Vaughn, which is why if a trade is made, it won't be for a top-level player. Or Hahn is stupid enough to trade Vaughn, and knowing him it probably won't be for someone like Jazz Chisholm, but more like Frankie Montas. After the Kimbrel debacle last year, I wouldn't put it past him. If he could pull it off for Burger plus prospects, I'd be elated (and I really like Burger), but knowing that's pretty unlikely, I'd rather just try to make a run with the team they have than see the next bad Hahn trade. -

Pack a lunch boys! -
I think everyone on the team needs this tattoo on their arm, and everything will be just fine.

What The Actual F# Is Wrong With This Team?

Especially since the weather starts to get bad again around September-October. -
Re-signing Garcia to a 3-year deal no less. Was he afraid someone else was going to swoop in and "steal" Garcia? There is no need to sign a player like Garcia to a multi-year deal.
