  1. But can you hold the interest and admiration of Renee Zellwegger like him...? I guess that character was written as a mix of 2/3rds Leigh Steinberg and 1/3rd Scott Boras but more handsome/charismatic.
  2. Jerry Maguire you are not, lol. I think we are still closer to the denial than acceptance phase at this point. And we've yet to be divided even further by another year of TLR's baffling managing. For now, the front office has successfully united the fan base against it at least.
  3. Knowing the White Sox, they'll convert him into a LH reliever anyway if Crochet gets hurt.
  4. Hopefully we're not saying that about Jimenez in 2-3 years. Both guys have/had the raw talent to be Top 5-10 hitters in baseball, and Bottom 5-10 fielders on the negative side.
  5. The Padres will be fine if they get the starting pitching they did in 2020 and stay injury free. The Giants are due to come back to the pack. Voit's definitely due for a bounce back, good value move. Not every transaction has to be a $100+ million move.
  6. Sano is another huge key to that team...if he comes to camp in shape and ready to play, he can make a huge impact. Can also be a DFA candidate, a lot like Ortiz when he was a Twin before moving on to the Red Sox.
  7. Depends what the Twins get out of their pitching and Buxton. In a way, letting Berrios go might have been a brilliant move for a limited budget team. With Kepler, Larnach and Kiriloff, not sure how much they really need Conforto, especially after coming under financial pressure to dump Donaldson, Cruz, etc.
  8. They're clearly playing a waiting game and hoping for an injury to a back end guy that will force a desperation move for Kimbrel for one season only. That is especially dangerous if Kimbrel doesn't start to look better...but it seems like the ship already sailed on making a big move for RF. Hopefully they at least fortify the starting pitching.
  9. Not necessarily. Voit can DH, or they end up eating portions of the Hosmer and/or Myers deals. Soler still makes sense, but doubtful they want to commit to either of those two although Preller is coming under a lot of pressure to get back to the postseason this year despite starting behind the 8 ball. This hurts a bit, simply because Ty France was so useful for the Mariners and they just cast him aside.
  10. But we’re overestimating the health of our pitching staff holding up moving forward…especially with an abbreviated ST.
  11. Might as well include TA7 as well to make it more interesting/entertaining. Abreu’s hopefully not going to get more than two, one at a time would be even more ideal at this point.
  12. That sounds like Bummer's season in a nutshell, too. https://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgers/story/2022-03-16/kenley-jansen-dodgers-closer-free-agent-other-options Dodgers still open to bringing Jansen back, less likely after Freeman signing...claim they're willing to go closer by committee with Treinen, Graterol, etc.
  13. If not, might as well use Terrence Gore if we have an extra roster spot to PR late.
  14. "Doesn't he have a PEDs violation in his past? Seems like bad mojo after how Colome fell apart going Sox to Twins last year." This is precisely what I wrote...you can laugh about my sarcastically suggesting bringing someone like Pineda or Simmons (past tense now) over from the Twins, and that having nothing to do with Colome, but my own response had absolutely nothing to with Montas. SO WHERE DID I BRING UP MONTAS? Reading comprehension is a skill...
  15. Well, sure....chiding scouts about Tatis, Jr., is not unlike going after the Yankees/Mets for missing Trout in their backyards and the 20 something teams that passed on him.
  16. He was with them and hardly pitched, or maybe didn't even pitch at all? More rotation insurance, to go along with David Price and Gonsolin, covering starts until Dustin May is back...
  17. Sure, but look at the money Schwarber just got for hitting...and he's not exactly peak JD Martinez or Nelson Cruz in terms of year to year consistency. Conforto is relatively young, LH and can field a position decently/well. That's the going rate, but it doesn't matter, because the White Sox are unlikely to meet it...if he was a FA last off-season, he'd be looking at $120-150 million, arguably. Heck, Suzuki got a pretty impressive deal and he hasn't even played stateside. Conforto has a considerable track record.
  18. No, someone was talking about signing Pineda of the Twins...
  19. Doesn't he have a PEDs violation in his past? Seems like bad mojo after how Colome fell apart going Sox to Twins last year.
  20. Balta? 75% believe Abreu will still be around next year.
  21. Moline Maroons or morons? Fortunately, it seems he showed the moxie or competitive disposition to handle it all quite well, all things considered.
  22. They must not believe he has the ability to sustain velocity over an extended number of innings...and last year his fastball velo was about the average of what Rodon or the Chris Sale of yore would ramp up to in the later innings of a start.
  23. Pretty much everyone knows they're likely to (argue that they're going to) use that money in June and July now.
