  1. If Scott Merkin brought up Edward Quero's name in trporting a trade rumor and he wasn't dealt...the same thing would happen. Backtracking/cya.
  2. You don't put high schoolers in High A ball. At least not to start the season.
  3. Okamoto has looked far worse for $60 million. Yoshida is a monster again now?
  4. Dan Hayes was the original reporter. How would the Twins' beat reporter name an actual top prospect in that system without solid inside information? Well I guess we helped the Twins letting Thome go...since Ozzie preferred the rotating DH/Kotsay. Then you have Ishbia abandoning Twins for Sox. Bad blood.
  5. Because JR won't help Cohen or the Twins (aborted Keaschall trade). Hard enough without further handicapping yourself. Seems JR wouldn't even send one penny to Cohen without a knife at his neck. imo Fenway Sports doing more damage to fans across their various teams than the Mets.
  6. And he brings out all the Italian fans...inevitably leading to higher Italian dog/pizza concession sales at GRF. Bottom line, baby!
  7. Ummm...the poster is confusing him with Shane Murphy, who is a soft tosser/finesse guy. Someone write for the last 12 months about him being a future Sox contributor at the mlb level.
  8. Because every time you cut a player, you net add or lose value to your mlb roster Incrementally. It all adds up. Who did they keep over Romy? Here's a perfect example. "Chicago had designated Gonzalez for assignment last week in order to clear space for free agent signee John Brebbia."
  9. We also heard how W.Gonzalez had the ability to be a starter.... Sandlin features a fastball that sits 93-96 mph but tops out at 98 mph, a slider that has been shown to miss bats, a splitter that can be a put-away pitch with some refinement, and a curveball that he doesn’t feature much. The ERA leaves quite a bit to be desired, but his fastball is enticing to watch. In July, he struck out seven straight hitters for Greenville against the Rome Emperors. He can potentially be a backend starter for the Red Sox, but he has to bring his ERA down to stick anywhere above Portland. Right now, he profiles as a reliever who could become a legitimate starting candidate.
  10. See Aaron Bummer trade pieces acquired...but it was five for one!!!
  11. Is he really worth $10-15 million? They also thought Kicks could get back to his St.Louis self. Sometimes you can outsmart yourself. trying to be too clever.
  12. Red Sox always seem to get the best of White Sox. Booser Romy G. Sale trade Hicks salary dump Crochet jury still out (Benintendi for Yoshida/$$$ please)
  13. Sounds like a Greg quote. Except it would be about Maher. Don't think Rogan's a big war hawk, either. Going by the recent White House prayer circle, I'm more concerned that faith is perceived as equal to modern medicine/technology.
  14. Ummm...indiscriminate regime change leads to predicably worsening outcomes, skyrocketing gas prices and $39 trillion in debt. FCC says two sides. Salk was funded by Soros!!! Measles are a hoax.
  15. Don't want to play catcher two consecutive and not a DH apparently...second catcher having good game and Pasquantino/Caglione/Canzone all fighting for 1B DH time. Italy/Mexico sets up as a decider for this pool to advance.
  16. https://www.espn.com/world-baseball-classic/boxscore/_/gameId/401838790 Italy playing well so far...haven't really been challenged
  17. https://www.milb.com/player/christopher-romero-839293&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwj76L70pJCTAxVJlmoFHWyHKgwQFnoECAoQAg&usg=AOvVaw1gQkeH1lvbzOYGDGa5_ORK Turns 17 in June...
  18. Yoshida has been impressive more power than he's consistently demonstrated in Boston (please trade for Benintendi and $5-10 million to offset salaries) 2-1 Japan to the 8th pretty sure Japan doesn't want to play the Dominican Republic in the quarterfinals...haha Taneichi RP very impressive... Murakami another walk lots of jerseys and fans there...but Ohtani Yamamoto S.Suzuki then Mune and Sasaki seems to be the order of popularity right now Shuto steals 2B as PR...Maki guides a groundball to rh side to advance runner to third https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/article/world-baseball-classic-homers-from-shohei-ohtani-seiya-suzuki-help-japan-get-past-korea-8-6-134619307.html Sato run scoring 2B to oppo lf corner...love that guy, only 26 too Australia falling apart here at end running out of quality pitchers 4-1 Japan two solo AUST homers off closer Ota make it more interesting 4-3 Australia loses but has been one of the big stories of the tourney now get their face off with Korea in Game 4 for Australia Japan/Czechia is last for Samurai will basically be an exhibition game
  19. Australia takes lead on steal of third and wild throw into lf by catcher... Sato has the Gold Gloves...Okamoto and the SS couldn't stop thriw from leaking through Mead error pitched over avoiding Ohtani with runners on yet again Australia has been much s Harper this game outhitting Japan 6-3 only one run allowed to CT Czechia and Japan
  20. 96.8 337 feet to lcf warning track Mune swing at first pitch outside the zone Ohtani just missed another three run homer still 0-0 to the 3rd Mead gidp 5-4-3 Mune 103.2 ev 340 feet carbon copy of last flyout Ohtani 2 outs bases loaded bringing in new pitcher probably lhp specialist ouch Maki picked off second base by catcher Perkins Mead another K Mune leads off every inning it seems Japan in the quarterfinals already
  21. already covered a month or so ago not a legit prospect, either
  22. Dane Dunning quickly warming for Korea... Stuart Fairchild goes yard 4-3 CT bottom 8 tied again 4-4 two out double by surprisingly potent middle infielder Do Young Kim two sac bunts consecutively first reached throw to third late then safety squeeze executed 5-4 CT in extras quintessential Asian style game filled with bunting/sacrifices at end
  23. Taiwan tied 1-1 going to 6th against Korea Taowanese pitcher had a nasty blood blister tough turnaround from last night to 12 pm the following day could be 2-2 tie with Korea Taipei Australia in CT holds on tiebreaker is RS-RA differential? Do Young Kim upper deck homer three homers this week including npb exhibitions 3-2 korea "Should there be a tie within pool play, head-to-head record is the first tiebreaker to decide which team advances to the quarterfinals. From there, things get a bit more complicated, with the "lowest quotient of runs allowed divided by the number of defensive outs recorded in games between the teams that are tied" coming into play, per ESPN." Would be Korea for sure...unless Team Australia/Mead does something crazy against Japan/Korea
