Roki Sasaki Free Agency - Dodgers vs Blue Jays for Roki's heart
Yay, we're (theoretically) ahead of the Phillies and maybe the A's! That might be worth a handful in season ticket sales by Boyer's staff.

Shocking that Indiana got run out of the stadium...not. Well, three more playoff games this weekend. Big Ten lays yet another egg.

https://www.forbes.com/profile/joel-wolfe/ Part of Wasserman Agency out of LA. Yu Darvish is one of his clients. https://sports.yahoo.com/who-will-be-mlbs-first-1-billion-player-223317942.html Thought Arjun Nimmala and Rocker being mentioned due to the possibility of having MLB's first Indian superstar was quite intriguing. "Million Dollar Arm" movie was nearly a decade ago, though. You'd think the White Sox might have the vision there to think outside the box...but even signing a $100 million contract seems beyond the pale(sox) at the moment.

Talking about Philly NY Toronto Boston Atlanta... What does the industry think will happen? MLB Pipeline is currently in the process of polling front offices for all 30 teams in the annual MLB Pipeline Executive Survey. As part of the questionnaire, executives were asked who they thought was the favorite to sign Sasaki. It should be noted that many of the responses came before the Wolfe media session, but two teams received nearly all of the votes: Dodgers: 11 Padres: 7 The Giants and Rangers each received one vote. Cubs Yankees Mets Mariners have to be included as well. mlb.com

He's purposely avoiding the most vitriolic fanbases and media markets...Boston seems unlikelier now too, plus there's the disparity in flight times from Japan compared to the West Coast teams.

Soroka to Nationals. 1 year/9 Million
18 again...already done. Zach Efron and Matthew Perry.

Sox Sign Bryse Wilson
You're completely discounting the impact he had on Sox PR as well as the fractured clubhouse...would you dare hire him to coach your kid, for example? Probably not. And his health was always going to be murky at best, which was the final nail in the coffin for his lack of "tradability."

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
Feels like projecting Rodon as a Sox pitcher...was 2021 or his contracts from 2022-24 worth the bad long stretch it took to get there?

Cubs-Ricketts/Sosa publicly reuniting at 2025 Cubs' Convention after 20 years of estrangement

Schriffen does it again...
If there was no Benetti doing highest level (Fox #2 team for CFB) work in TWO other sports, while basketball might actually be his strongest...50% of the Schiffren stuff would quiet down. Not to mention constantly being too much of a cheerleader and overly optimistic/rose-colored glasses...the juxtaposition with DJ/Kasper as the second half of the season approached an all-time horrific finish was just too jarring. Perhaps the most pathetic thing last year was Schiffren losing some of his professionalism and getting too close to some of the veteran guys on the team like Sizemore, Pham and Sheets. I remember the complaints about his constant presence around the clubhouse, on the team plane trying to "hang out with the guys and be part of the cool/in group," Pham really laid into him about that as he departed for KC and told his side of things. Benetti was never ever in a million years the cool guy in the room...thus there was never any attempt for him to pretend to be something he wasn't/never was.

State of the farm system
I wanted DESPERATELY to believe in Norge Vera, he made all the Top 10 lists for a couple of years, but just never put it together. Then there was that odd Yosimar Cousin Cuban FA signing. Was not in the least bit surprised by Cespedes, Yogurt Sanchez and all of the LA position players disappearing into the ether. Tatis' brother was a spectacular disaster and still pretty skeptical about Juan Uribe, Jr.,(https://www.milb.com/player/juan-uribe-808322, he's already out of the organization, it seems) basically anyone related to a famous MLB father or former White Sox player/front office official. Also seems the shine is already off that big Venezuelan 3B they signed for $2.5 million or whatever in the last couple of cycles.

CHGO layoffs...
Grifol was honestly the worst manager to promote the organization too...can't imagine one person in North America with his Sox jersey unless they were family members. Comparatively, Joe Maddon used to outsell every member of the Sox around 2014-2016 except Jose Abreu.

Michael Lorenzen pitching himself as a 2-way player, possibly to Sox
Cease would have been one of the best hitters on last year's team...
-
CHGO layoffs...
Who would ever have thought that being the worst team in baseball history would be the most effective way to drive national media interest in the Sox? Great job by JR Boyer and Getz.

Sox Sign Bryse Wilson
Cost savings award to Getz/JR...odds of him recording a 1+ fWAR? Smarter move than Lopez Maldonado or Clevinger for sure.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
We might as well compare him to the value of Victor Robles right now... But some GM will eventually bet on the dynamic 2020/2023 versions returning, away from the negative influence of the Sox organization. That is if they can afford to take on a "value added" salary.

Soroka to Nationals. 1 year/9 Million
Hopefully more Crochet/Sale/Rodon than Jim Parque.
-
Michael Lorenzen pitching himself as a 2-way player, possibly to Sox
Shades of Matt Davidson?
-
Soroka to Nationals. 1 year/9 Million
More expensive than Fedde...White Sox will never compete under JR with their fear of long-term starting pitching contracts. Along with Witt Jr., it's the main reason the Royals became competitive again. But it seems they're now tapping out around the $120 million payroll level.
