  2. Its almost like the Phillies have coaching and player development
  3. I doubt Bochy would have come out of retirement for the White Sox. Chris Young has a relationship with him from his playing days and showed him the roadmap for their success...good farm system and SPENDING $$$$$$
  4. ESPN, for once, didn't forget the White Sox!!!
  5. You know...its funny. The White Sox tried to do it the Rangers way. Sucked. Got high draft picks. Signed/Traded for young talent. Courted big name free agents. Difference? Ownership/Management. Couldn't scout or develop the young talent and ownership would not pay the free agents. What could have been...
  6. Its amazing the effect of first and second year, homegrown players, are having on those teams. Develop talent, sign good free agents and have experienced management lead them. Seems simple.
  7. Houston fans and media were not happy with Jose until the last few days. Trust me they have been bitching about his contract all season and not liking the signing. That being said...I'm really happy for Jose and I will be seeing him Wednesday.
  8. I feel the discussion starts with Kim Ng as President of Baseball Operations and it goes from there.
  9. Go Rangers! ?
  10. Its amazing to watch the Rangers and not think this could have been the White Sox. A combination of home grown talent, smart, big free agents and substantial trades to fill needs. They lost 94 games last year, with a good foundation and now are loaded. We had a foundation and never built on it. Plug and played has-beens and overvalued prospects.
  11. Are you all seriously arguing over the level of bad of Grandal and, also, who gets to claim knowing it more? Soxtalk gotta Soxtalk, I guess. ?
  12. I've never seen such a celebrated pitching staff implode in one season like I did in 2006... Oh wait...I have.
  13. Listening to the Rangers feed, that is what they talked about a lot...How the White Sox will just chase about anything out of the Zone. They said there is a lot of talent here, it is just not being harnessed or motivated.
  14. Maybe…but yes. 1-9 solid.
  15. The Sox were showcasing Kelly and Graveman directly to the Rangers tonight.
  16. He needs to make himself more availaple.
  17. Dude...just add this to the existing "Fire Hahn" thread. But creating a new, redundant thread over one play is the most Soxtalkian thing ever, I guess.
  18. There needs to be a new culture brought it.
  19. The White Sox need a Chicago Bears makeover. New manager. New GM from a franchise that has a history of a winning culture, but with an emphasis on player development throughout the system. New Team President from a similar background. None of this will happen though... Pedro will get a few more years, Getz is the new GM Someone loyal will be new Exec VP reporting to JR.
  20. Have you met Rick Hahn?
  21. What does a manager have to do with payroll, minor league development, drafting and roster construction?
