  1. Rangers took two seasons....but they had quality talent in the pipeline before Seager and Semien and then Eovaldi and Degrom. Jung, Heim, Lowe, Garcia, and Carter. Hence my comment about young talent. They have to do all three, not just spend. Then you're the Mets.
  2. The White Sox can rebound...They can be that team that loses 90-100 and wins in a couple years. BUT They have they have to spend the money and spend it wisely (enough bullpen big contracts) Hire GOOD coaching to keep the team focused all season. They have to start DEVELOPING Young talent. No more drafting and signing talent and letting them "find themselves". Will they? Probably not.
  3. I always wished my second World Series parade would be in Chicago again... But taking my youngest son to his first parade (my oldest got to go in 2005) will be special.
  4. Bochy had a previous relationship with Rangers GM Chris Young. That and the promise to get good players helped lure him out of retirement. I don’t think the Sox could have matched that.
  5. The Fans of the teams will always remember. Who cares who else does?

  7. Its almost like the Phillies have coaching and player development
  8. I doubt Bochy would have come out of retirement for the White Sox. Chris Young has a relationship with him from his playing days and showed him the roadmap for their success...good farm system and SPENDING $$$$$$
  9. ESPN, for once, didn't forget the White Sox!!!
  10. You know...its funny. The White Sox tried to do it the Rangers way. Sucked. Got high draft picks. Signed/Traded for young talent. Courted big name free agents. Difference? Ownership/Management. Couldn't scout or develop the young talent and ownership would not pay the free agents. What could have been...
  11. Its amazing the effect of first and second year, homegrown players, are having on those teams. Develop talent, sign good free agents and have experienced management lead them. Seems simple.
  12. Houston fans and media were not happy with Jose until the last few days. Trust me they have been bitching about his contract all season and not liking the signing. That being said...I'm really happy for Jose and I will be seeing him Wednesday.
  13. I feel the discussion starts with Kim Ng as President of Baseball Operations and it goes from there.
  14. Its amazing to watch the Rangers and not think this could have been the White Sox. A combination of home grown talent, smart, big free agents and substantial trades to fill needs. They lost 94 games last year, with a good foundation and now are loaded. We had a foundation and never built on it. Plug and played has-beens and overvalued prospects.
  15. Are you all seriously arguing over the level of bad of Grandal and, also, who gets to claim knowing it more? Soxtalk gotta Soxtalk, I guess. 🤪
  16. I've never seen such a celebrated pitching staff implode in one season like I did in 2006... Oh wait...I have.
  17. Listening to the Rangers feed, that is what they talked about a lot...How the White Sox will just chase about anything out of the Zone. They said there is a lot of talent here, it is just not being harnessed or motivated.
