  1. I think this boosts confidence within the ranks of our roster that the FO trusts them and wants to see what they can accomplish. Super glad they stood pat.
  2. The swings we were seeing by DET and KC hitters, coupled with his control, screams #2, possibly a very strong #3 on a loaded staff. I haven't been that impressed by a couple of rookie starts in a very long time.
  3. I've never claimed to be some miLB expert. I know the Padres and Sox both have solid systems. I'd imagine the talents of 7,9, and 11 are fairly similar between the two systems. If not, instead of getting on my ass, how about you experts offer up what you think the Sox equivalent would be?
  4. I'm going by prospect ranking...7,9 and 11.
  5. Steiver, Thompson, Sheets as mLB talent....with Collins, Marshall, and maybe Mendick as MLB throw ins?
  6. Not giving up a top 5 prospect for a #2/#3 MLB pitcher with team control would seem to be a win for SD.
  7. Cantillo 9th ranked in their system Arias 7th Miller 11th Quantrill MLB Hedges MLB Naylor MLB
  8. I can't recall a team ever being so aggressive at a deadline. Crazy. Not sure it's wise to go all-in in a shortened season with an expanded playoff and the Dodgers in your division, but give them props for trying.
  9. He nibbles when ahead instead of just going at hitters. Starts his slider too far outside so hitters give up early. When he’s yanking the fastball, they need to call some knuckle curves to get him back on top of the ball.
  10. There’s plenty of precedent showing young, talented teams going deep in the playoffs or winning chips without trading away any of that young talent. When you’ve got a plan, forecast, and road map as a GM, you don’t deviate unless something overwhelms. Lane Lynn, and especially Robbie “ton of talent but can’t pitch” Ray, are not pieces so important to progress that you deviate from the plan, imo.
  11. Thanks for the PBP...feed looks to be back (minus Jason and Stoney)
  12. Not sure if any of y'all heard the White Sox Talk Podcast (Garfein) this week with TA on it but, man, really impressive interview. He's quickly become a professional hitter. Hearing him break down at-bats and sequences, coupled with his regular in-game discussions with Abreu regarding the pitcher on the mound, tells me that what he's doing is far from a fluke and he's bound to become an even better hitter. A team leader, becoming a good to great hitter, and working on defense...TA7 has quickly become a force on this team and the league. That he's not top 100 in this list is a joke.
  13. Interesting how the two Sox players on this list stick out like sore thumbs when looking at the launch angle column.
  14. I'd prefer we make due with what we have than deal prospects. I think Cease will come around. Gio and Keuchel are solid (usually). Kopech back next season. Carlos and Rey coming back soon. Dunning we haven't seen yet. There are other arms we could use, too. Injuries suck and may screw us out of a few wins but I don't want to see us sacrifice top 5 prospects because we caught the injury bug in a shortened season.
  15. I don't think he's missed a day since he came up with that groin injury several days ago. Give him a couple of days to rest...he's too important in this line-up to play him when he's apparently at 60-70%
  16. I really hope they don't turn to Detweiler, as Stoney and Jason suggested. He really seems to thrive so far coming out of the pen. Leave him doing what he's shown the most success doing.
  17. Great win. Pretty sure Grandal had to deal with 5 strikes called outside of the zone tonight. Brutal. Pen is shaping up to be a real strength of this team.
  18. Leury is just butchering things. Just awful. He's responsible for, what, like 4-5 of their runs?
  19. 3.5 of innings played and we’re an hour and 40 minutes in. This is nuts.
  20. I didn’t have any issue with another change there but it needed to be further out of the zone
  21. 8 hits in 3 innings against the Twins ace. I’ll take it.
  22. Pretty sure TA7 was pointing at Menechino after his single. The way he laid off two fastballs but was all over the change it makes me wonder if Frank predicted the sequence.
