  1. Yeah, I feel like Kopech is a run of 2-3 great starts in a row away from a call-up. Eloy still has another level to reach first.
  2. Sheets already HAD the power tool. He's a brickhouse. He's just not translating it. Maybe it's loft, maybe he's sacrificing power for contact, but either way, something has changed.
  3. I was talking some shit about the Justin Wilson trade when it went down. I was a big Candelario fan. Well. 10 months later. Jeimer Candelario - 1.1 fWAR in 2018 Justin Wilson - (-)0.2 fWAR in 2018 and just for fun... Kris Bryant - 1.0 fWAR in 2018
  4. Do it. Put him in Charlotte if he accepts it.
  5. I didn't guess correctly, but after looking up signings, I'm assuming it was Yeyson Yrizarry.
  6. Going from projected pick #10 to #4 isn't much of a gamble. But it's small reach I could be ok with them taking if there is financial incentives and payoff for doing so. We aren't talking about them drafting Beer at #4. India is exploding up the draftboards. In a month, he could be very well considered top 5 anyway.
  7. There is a great story, and maybe it's even mentioned in this article, that the Dbacks traded for the wrong brother from the Red Sox for Brad Zeigler. They screwed up the paper work and wrote the wrong name. Red Sox kept the guy the Dbacks actually wanted, and then obviously traded him to us for Sale.
  8. Shit, I'm so behind on my shows. Sneaky Pete, Handmaids Tale, The Americans, Homeland. I haven't started any of their latest seasons. And I'm still debating if I want to try the latest season of Mr. Robot or not.
  9. Does no one here watch Westworld? I feel like that's statistically impossible.
  10. What if the Sox were able to get Jonathan India under slot? If we are going underslot, do we prefer him to Kelenic? If the Sox can be sure he goes underslot, I would take a combo of underslot on India and overslot on a HS pitcher with pick #45. I'm still hoping for Bohm or Madrigal, but India/Kelenic underslot paired with a HS pitcher at #45 would make me just as happy.
  11. My buddy gets Milb.tv for half off since he's an MLB.tv subscriber, so I pay him $25 and he gives me his log-in. And yes. replays available.
  12. The same 2 players had also made it to the bigs BEFORE the Eaton trade.
  13. SOUNDS LIKE A KENNY WILLIAMS PICK TO ME.
  14. You better hope Yoan Lopez never makes it out of AA.
  15. Moncada has now played 81 games with the White Sox. Half a season. These are his numbers... .246 AVG, 14 HR, 16 2B, 3 3B, 37 RBI, 7 SB, 43 BB, 121 K, .344 OBP, .797 OPS, 116 OPS+, 2.4 WAR Extrapolate those out to a full year, you're talking almost 30 HR, 86 walks, 32 doubles, 14 SB, and a 4.8 WAR. And mind you, all those numbers are trending UP. 2/3's of those rates are from 2017. He's been much better in 2018 in all regards, except strikeouts. He has a decent chance to beat those extrapolated numbers for his 2018 season, and that won't be 162 games either, probably around 145-150.
  16. I agree. I honestly don't even check the Charlotte boxscore unless Kopech is pitching. I went down to Indy to see them and I was trying to find someone to pay close attention to, and I couldn't. And now I wish I would have paid more attention to watching Nick Kingham pitch since his next start was in the majors with a perfect game in to the 7th. lol.
  17. I'm wondering if they are having issues with their CF camera because it wasn't like that last year. Games not being broadcast is due to them playing away games at parks that don't have broadcasts. Happens a lot with Winston-Salem. All home games should have a video feed for. AAA might be the only league where it seems every team has a video feed.
  18. He seems like an Oakland pick, for reasons I could not explain.
  19. My prediction is that Giolito gets a hit and he turns his season around.
  20. I just hope one of Madrigal or Bohm goes in the top 3 because I really can't decide who I would rather have, so I'd prefer that possible regret or buyer's remorse gets removed. Going with Kelenic with the idea of saving money is ok with me as well.
  21. Something interesting I've noticed so far.... 2016-2017 - 134 games, 10 SB/6 CS 2018 - 18 games, 5 SB/4 CS. Obviously the SB rate isn't good, never really has been, but I found it interesting how more frequently he is even attempting to steal. He's running about 4x as often so far this season. We've all heard the story that he grew 2 inches (or 4?) over the off-season, but I wonder if that increase in stride has allowed him to not only get a slightly bigger lead, but also cover more ground, quicker.
  22. I know his injury, I'm asking what "National writers expecting the worse" is referring to.
