One of my teachers dropped what is essentially an 11-page paper on us today. It's due in 1 week. It's 5 questions, with a minimum 5 paragraphs each, plus a 3-paragraph minimum extra credit question. This is going to suck (plus I have a giant project for one my telecomm classes due the following morning)

Stephen Upchurch having himself quite the year. 19 K to 2 BB in 17 IP with a 1.56 ERA, and like a 0.60 WHIP (guessing)

MLB reviewing Guillen actions

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 06:55 PM) You can't talk trash about umpires. I meant the whole "tweeting 30 minutes prior to game, and not during". -

White Sox vs. Yankees 4/28 Thread

QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 05:28 PM) CF: Granderson vs. Rios=Granderson RF: swisher vs. CQ=CQ 2B: Cano vs. Becks= Cano 3B: A-Roid vs. Morel= Umm... 1B: Chaves vs. Konerko=PK C: Martin vs. Castro=Martin DH: Posada vs. Dunn=Dunn LF: Gardner vs. Lilli=Push SS: Nunez vs. Lexi= Lexi Totals 4-4-1...so the Yankee scrub line-up IS NOT better. It's about the same I'd say Gardner is better than The Bridge. His speed is unreal. -
Joe is my name, my mother thinks I'm cool, "joecool" was taken back in 2001 or whenever I started using message boards, so I added a "man" to it. Some sites needed a number added, so my favorite number is 24, so therefor it was JoeCoolMan24. Nothing to do w/ Crede like most people think. And I use this username for literally everything. If you google this username, there is a 99.9% chance it's me. Even my college username is JoeCoolMan24. lol

2011 Minor League Catch-All Thread

QUOTE (IChaseBlackWood @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 10:13 PM) We picked up a pitcher from the angels today .. I don't yet know his name. waivers? I see Jason Bulger was DFA'd today by the Angels, but I'm not sure if you just mean some minor league guy. -
Wilkins is starting to turn it on now. 4 HR in 8 games. Hit safely in at least 9 out of his last 10 games. Needs to start walking more though.

White Sox (Buehrle) v. Yankees (Tub O' Goo)

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 08:33 PM) Ok, then they clearly just hate Jeter. Just saw the video of the hit. Jeter was like 30 feet away from that ball. No idea what DJ and Farmer were clamoring about. I mean, I hate Jeter, but that wasn't even close to him. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 08:32 PM) Cause it was a hit up the middle. And yes, he actually is a role model if you're looking to model your game after a player. His hustle is the only part of his game that's not overrated. Ok, then they clearly just hate Jeter. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 03:26 PM) So Taguchi? Or that was Tadahito's nickname here? I think he just got him confused with So Taguchi. Tadahito's nicknames were things like Guchi, Tada, etc. -

What about Alexei's glove flip to bare-handed Paulie when he used to play 2B? I think that play is better than half the plays listed in the poll. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=3182512 -

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 04:38 PM) I think he serves a purpose in games 1-6, not so sure about a game 7. Everything is on the line here....if the nucks are going to take liberties, they are going to do it with or without Scott in the lineup. I'll be happy to keep him off the ice. He scares the hell out of me with the puck. He does scare the hell out of me when he has the puck, but I like the fear he puts in Canucks players not to get away with too much physical activity, and with how Seabrook played last game, I wouldn't mind Scott getting a couple extra shifts. -

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 03:54 PM) I hear you. But could you see him playing LF? He looked solid enough during ST. He won't have the range of Pierre, but he will have a cannon out there. -

This is probably far out of your price range, but my roommates dad just bought this grill last weekend. Said it's amazing, and cooked a dozen steaks in 5 minutes..... http://bbq.about.com/od/smokerreviews/gr/aapr072405b.htm

QUOTE (The Baconator @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 12:01 PM) Great read on Pauli and Walker in the NYT. Link Interesting quote: Well, great. Now that we've signed Paulie, we can get rid of Walk now. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 22, 2011 -> 10:19 PM) If a crazy, suicidal f*** jumps off the top of the Sears Tower (I will never refer to it as the Willis Tower), I don't have to wait until he/she hits the ground to no that fool is dead. s***ty analogy. But same difference. I know you're an optimist. I have no problem with that. It's a natural tendency to think the team that you cheer for and love can do something with a player(s) that nobody else could. But those that are not drinking the kool-aid just because said player happens to be a White Sox shouldn't be looked upon as evil demons that just like to be negative for the sake of being negative. I've said this many times before. If the Cubs were set to insert Humber into their rotation EVERY single poster on this board, and that includes you SS2K5 and JoeCool, would be laughing their asses off. This is undeniable fact. Now if somehow, someway, Humber pulls a horseshoe out his ass and is even serviceable, great. It won't make me feel stupid for not expecting a thing from him this year. He's done nothing in his career, outside of being a high draft pick sever years ago, that warrants any type of faith. BUMP
