  1. I mean comfort level that Roch will be an impact player worthy of the 1.01 pick. Vaughn has had an amazing 2026 season, but doesn’t haven’t the extended track record that Roch does. And as has been previously stated, Roch is a guy Shirley wanted to draft coming out of HS. Doesn’t mean Vaughn can’t be the pick given his athleticism and production this year, but I think if it’s close the Sox will go with the kid they’ve been all over for years. Just me speculating.
  2. I’m hoping Acuna just disappears one of these days…him in the lineup is just a kick to the balls each time I see it.
  3. I think both have plus makeup, so not sure I’d give Lackey an edge there. If I’m being honest, I think there is some prospect fatigue with Roch and obviously him not really taking any strides this year feeds into that. Regardless, I still feel like the Sox have a familiarly & comfort level with Roch that will push him into being the pick.
  4. Assuming Colson is playing, here is the lineup I’d like to see tonight: C. Meidroth, 2B (R) R. Grichuk, LF (R) M. Vargas, 3B (R) C. Montgomery, SS (L) E. Quero, CA (S) D. Hill, CF (R) J. Gonzalez, 1B (L) B. Montgomery, RF (S) A. Benintendi, DH (L) Also, the above just goes to show how badly we need Pereira back on this roster, even moreso with Murakami out.
  5. He seems to still think it will be Roch. And I fully agree…I think Shirley really likes the kid.
  6. Martin vs. Sale tonight…should be a great pitching matchup. Which offense will prevail though? The Sox have been one of the best in baseball against LHP, but take a step back with the loss of Murakami. Hopefully we get both Montgomery’s tonight and make it two in a row against the Braves! Let’s fucking go!!
  7. Fully agree. And candidly, I think we should commit to developing two of the young arms (Schultz, Smith, & McDougal) this year no matter what. I don’t see the value in pushing that key development time into next year when the rest of the group should be in an even stronger position. To me, the rotation should be: Martin Burke S. Smith or trade addition Schultz H. Smith or McDougal Kay (move to bullpen) Sandlin/Adams/Thorpe
  8. Adams is in AAA now…he’s as close as can be baring innings ramp-up
  9. We got some C tier pitching prospect from Harvard that has some stuff, but is a bit of a project. He hasn’t done well so far (but still time there), but my guess is we end up with nothing for Robert. It’s actually fascinating to think how good this team is positioned right now and we got basically nothing so far out of both the Cease & Robert trades.
  10. Does today looks that bad? I saw like a 25% chance of rain in the city and well before first pitch.
  11. You’re right…he had us taking Emerson last time.
  12. I think he did that in his lack mock too didn’t he? And I think he said it wasn’t really what he was expecting or who he thinks is the best player (he still had Roch as his #1), but more to be contrarian for discussion purposes.
  13. Fully agree. Just hard to predict what you’ll get from either of them. Shane was so broken before his injury, so he’s still got a lot of work to do beyond just getting healthier. Smith has got to make sure his control doesn’t implode when he gets the call. But if they do work out, you’re taking massive upgrades over Fedde & Kay and one of those guys moves to the pen and hopefully serves as an upgrade over Richards.
  14. I agree. I get Acuna brings some value with defensive versatility and running, but just don’t see how that warrants a roster spot when he simply can’t hit at all.
  15. I’d rather see Benintendi go. He’s actually hit well against RHP when in the DH spot (114 wRC+), but he kills your roster flexibility since he can’t play the field at all. Doing so allows you to rotate various guys through the DH spot each day and carry a more versatile roster. Jacob would slot in as the primary DH and then fill in at the other infield spots when guys need a day off. I’d like to continue to give Meidroth regular starts this season to see if he can further develop against RHP. His current 87 wRC+ against them is playable given his defense, but I think there is room for improvement there. He should definitely be moved down in the lineup against RHP though. And if he doesn’t improve, then I’m ok with moving him to a reserve as soon as a better option presents itself (like Roch). But right now, Chase is a top 10 2B per fWAR and a vital part of the clubhouse, so really don’t want to rock the boat with him.
  16. You’d rather keep Acuna over Grichuk? A guy who is the second worst hitter in baseball and can’t even execute a squeeze instead of the guy who Is one of the best hitters in baseball against LHP?
  17. Excited about all these moves, but Mason back in AAA is most exciting to me.
  18. Shane Smith returning to his 2025 form at some point would really change the complexion of the rotation.
  19. I have been several hundred White Sox games in my life, but that was one of the best endings I have ever seen. Fucking will Braden forever for that s%*#.
  20. Who is coaching these OFs to keep throwing to home plate when there is no chance of getting him out there all while letting the other runners take free bases
  21. There are 100 dudes in the 3B corner of the Upper Deck that fit that narrative
  22. We need to win this right now or will have no choice but to use Taylor in the 10th. The bottom half of this lineup is now exposed due to all the RH platoon bats.
