Trade for a RF and then fill your other holes via free agency. For me, Nimmo or Joc would be fantastic additions depending on the price.

I will say that Ozuna’s bat is significantly underrated around here. His wxOBA last year was .379, for reference the best players are right around .400 and league average is .318. Two good comps would be Harper at .388 and Acura at .387, which shows how good of a hitter he really is. Also, Statcast believes he was really unlucky last year and that he was actually a better hitter than he was in 2017 when he put up a 143 wRC+ season. The problem with Ozuna is defense. If his arm hasn’t returned to form, his ability to play RF is compromised. And even then, it sounds like he’s a fundamentally poor OF despite what certain metrics might suggest. I wouldn’t necessarily hate his addition if the price was right (and he was willing to DH some), but I would definitely Grandal & JDM over him.

Just seems like the NFL is too fast for Mitch. His reads, decision-making, and throws all seem rushed. He just looks way over his head and it’s hard to see how he shakes out of this.

Fully agree on Wheeler, but don’t think we should be adding pitchers we don’t necessarily like simply to hurt the Twins. Let other teams do that for us.

Then you’re punting 2020 and putting the rest of the rebuild at risk if even one of those guys fails to develop. And the two World Series teams account for six of the top 15 fWAR starters. Two other teams had two and four teams had one (including us). Wheeler is probably the best starter on a dozen teams and the second best starter on another dozen teams. Hopefully he’s not our ace, but we it would be great to add a guy with TOR potential to the three guys you listed so we have some options if someone were to get hurt or bust.

My god Mitch is absolutely terrible. He was at least serviceable last year and flashed some upside, but he’s gone completely backwards this year. I don’t even care about Mahomes & Watson, I’m speechless of how we thought Mitch was the guy and have somehow allowed him to actually get worse.
