  1. Why are these decisions mutually exclusive?
  2. Zero chance he gets that in the 2020-21 offseason even if he stays healthy next year.
  3. Oh I 100% agree, but had he said that it would have added insult to injury.
  4. Get his ass banned Ron! Losing is hard enough without his hot takes!
  5. Did he really say that?!?
  6. Burger’s injury was far more severe (hence surgery) and happened twice. If someone like Patc says that opening day is a reach because of potential rehab time then I’ll happily concede, but until I will go with what’s being reported.
  7. The Force Awakens was entertaining, but basically recycled a New Hope. The Last Jedi was an absolute abomination though and pretty much destroyed any hope for this new trilogy. It was so bad that I haven’t able to force myself to sit through Solo, which may very well be a decent movie. I did really like Rogue One though. It’s pretty sad how poorly Disney has done with this franchise (so far) while Marvel continues to thrive and actually get better.
  8. It would be disastrous given we only have four more years of control of our two best players at the moment.
  9. So basically you don’t want to add an impact starter? Because the rest of the top guys will be getting QOs with the exception of Ryu and he’s not exactly a great fit for what we’re looking for.
  10. I don’t follow at all. And not sure why he wouldn’t be ready by opening day if he’s not having surgery (baring any setbacks).
  11. While I agree we should target a two year deal, why would he not do much at all in 2020? He’s supposed to be ready by opening day.
  12. I mean he has no track record of being a legit insider and keeps throwing out rumors. Obviously this one is tougher to prove right or wrong, but it doesn’t change his history. I question that he’s really in the know.
  13. No surgery necessary, so it seems like he should be ready barring any setbacks in his rehab.
  14. What’s weird is Kinander keeps on spewing rumors and has yet to get one right. There’s probably some truth to the Joc rumor, but that’s pretty much it.
  15. Honesty, he’s exactly the type of reliever we should take a shot on. Huge upside and likely won’t require a huge commitment given his injury history.
  16. Why isn’t he a 2020 acquisition?
  17. Outside of Cruz & JDM, what DHs put up a better wRC+ than Grandal last year? You are seriously sleeping on his bat.
  18. It’s called platooning. McCann is well above league average vs LHP over his career and Collins was league average against RHP in first MLB stint despite a horrendous start bringing down his numbers. My guess is those two can give you quality offensive production if used correctly. And Grandal giving you ~120 wRC+ production is more than fine at the DH spot. To me, the idea makes perfect sense and provides far more flexibility than bringing on JDM.
  19. Like who though? I have no idea if Gardner’s arm would be suitable for RF, but there aren’t exactly a ton of options out there. Regardless, I think this discussion is all for naught as I think it’s incredibly unlikely Gardner leaves the Yankees.
  20. Outside of a horrific July, his second half numbers weren’t that different than his first numbers with the exception of some much expected BABIP regression. Yes, he had a career year and overall he probably overperformwd, but Statcast still believes he should have been a league average hitter and he actually made adjustments to that support his improvement. While there is probably no rush to extend him, cutting bait right now is quite frankly insane at $5M.
  21. You’re assuming the Twins won’t regress despite numerous career years and a bunch of guys hitting free agency. They should be good next year, but I would not bank on them repeating their 2019 performance.
  22. Yup, worst case scenario you trade McCann for something as he should a little bit of surplus value at that cost. Also, that pitching plan would likely be disastrous. I still don’t get all the Wheeler hate around here, but we need at least one starter with more certainty than the guys he listed.
  23. I still think something like Fry for Joc might be enticing to the Dodgers.
  24. Are there any metrics that show arm strength? If he could still throw, I’d be far more interested in him on a deal like you’re proposing.
