Call me a Fairweather fan but this is exactly where I am. I refuse to spend another minute of my life being angry about a professional sports team with a billionaire owner who doesn't give a s%*#. It must be really nice to be a fan of a team with an owner that actually tries to win. I'll be a fan again once JR is gone.

This right here x100. Firing Renteria and bringing in a corpse who lives by baseball’s silly “unwritten rules” broke the spirit of this team. It was an energetic, fun, “change the game” kind of a team under Renteria and I truly believe they would have been much better off leaving him alone and bringing in some pitching reinforcements. It wasn’t Renteria’s fault that the major free agent signing at the time, Mr “Winning Culture” Dallas Keuchel s%*# the bed in the playoffs against Oakland.

Wow the national news is all over this. The White Sox are getting absolutely roasted on twitter.

Kind of like Renteria was allowed to do all the groundwork during the rebuild then was fired so LaRussa could come in for the finishing touches. And it destroyed the team. I’ll never forgive Reinsdorf for that.

Why would Bob Melvin come here to manage? The only managers that would come here are those who can’t get a job elsewhere. Same for free agents. No one is going to pass up other teams to be a part of this dysfunctional organization. Every player who leaves here talks about how poorly run this team is.

This game thread didn’t even make it to page 2. It’s sad that nobody even cares about this organization anymore.

I hope for Tim's sake the White Sox declines his option. He needs a fresh start with a competent organization and the Sox are going to be a mess until JR is gone. I bet he thrives with another team.

Keeping costs low as JR prepares to sell the team. That’s what I think is going on. JR isn’t dumb so he has to see that there’s no way this team can compete next year.

I just don’t see how he believes this team can compete next year. The farm is barren and he’ll never get a prime free agent to sign here. The only players who will sign up to be a part of this mess are players who are looking for one last contract before they’re done.

So some are theorizing that Reinsdorf is hiring Getz as a placeholder until he sells the team. Hopefully JR is preparing to sell and wants to keep costs low and doesn't want to bring in a new front office because the new owner will want to bring in his own people. That kind of make sense and I'm good with it as long as he truly does sell in the next year or so.

So if they have a press conference introducing Getz, who's going to introduce him? We all know Reinsdorf won't dare face the media and Getz is the number 2 guy in the organization now, so will he be introduced by a subordinate?

That would achieve NOTHING. Those old rich guys don't care what fans think. The only thing they understand is money. And the only think we can do to affect change is boycotting the games and merchandise. I wouldn't spend a dime on this team. I'd rather go see the Schaumburg Boomers or Kane County Cougars before I give any money to the White Sox.

Don’t worry, Chris Getz is in his way to fix everything. He’s done so well with the farm clubs.
